Hollywood Zenith-Chapter 1222 : Family-1
"Do we have to do this? I don't think I am ready for this." Samuel cleaned himself up nicely.
"I am afraid you don't have a choice. They already know that you are back. I also arranged a car for you in case you try to run away so don't try anything funny." Daniel warned him.
He knew he had to face it; it's better to be now than drag it further. He had been making big waves but unfortunately, not keeping his family in the loop has become a habit for him, which went against his promise to them.
The car drove toward his residence at casual speed. For some reason, his uncle assigned Steve for the job.
"I know you are enjoying this. You don't have to give me that smug look to rub it in my face." He said, looking in the mirror.
"I didn't do anything, boss. I just had one question. It puzzled me ever since we met."
"Well, we have a few minutes so I will try to entertain your curiosity."
"How do you do it? I mean, all those women, it would take a special person to handle all of them. What's more interesting is that they never seem to care about your personal escapades. It's perplexing."
"This is what you want to ask me? Why don't I go and tell Miss Jane about your inner curiousity? I am sure she would love to find out why you are suddenly so interested in my methods."
"I am sorry, boss. I overstepped my bounds." Steve shuddered just thinking about what Jane would do to him if she found out about this.
They soon reached his house and he quickly got out, seeing if anyone was waiting for him. He saw his aunt with her arms folded, staring intensely in his direction, which was a bad sign. If she was here, that means the whole party was here, including his granduncle, grandaunt, and his uncle Peter.
"Look who finally decided to show up. Do you even know how worried we were?" She grabbed his hair, twisting them around.
"Aun-, I mean, big sister Mary. Don't you think I am old enough to take care of myself?"
"Yeah, I noticed. Not just me but everyone noticed it. I saw your new array of girlfriends. What lies are you telling them to act your bidding?"
"Lies, I don't lie."
"Don't play coy with me! I talked to them and they seem to have a very good impression of you, which is strange. You know, one or two is fine but I don't know how you keep trapping these people."
"Now you are accusing me of something that you can't even prove. They are here on their own volition. There is no conspiracy here."
"Fine, we will soon find out." She said smugly before walking away but she suddenly turned and got uncomfortably close to him.
"I never knew you knew Robyn too. Can you ask her to sign a few copies for me? It will make all my friends jealous."
"Seriously-, alright. I will ask her after this." He shut his temper when he saw the same intense glare. He wasn't particularly afraid of her but he was fearful of her unpredictable personality.
The next person he met was his uncle, who was still sulking after being defeated so easily by him a few days ago. It was clear; his ego was hurt since he forced the duel upon him but he never would have expected to be knocked out in a single punch.
"Go on, you don't have to care about me. I don't know how you manage to do it when you don't even train that much but I don't think I will take this loss lying down."
"Oh, grow up, brother! Why do you keep bullying our Sami at every turn? He is almost half your age; it's obvious that he would be stronger than you since you passed your prime." Mary commented, never understanding her brother's obsession with fighting.
"P-passed my prime?" Her statement seemed to have stuck deep in his heart as he began to contemplate his life. Samuel thought it was best to leave them alone and not do anything to rub more salt on his wounds.
"Miss Amanda? Let me help you with it." Samuel saw Amanda coming out of the kitchen. There were clear sweat beads on her foreheads, which indicated she must be working hard to accommodate his large family.
Since it was still early morning, she would have to prepare their breakfast while keeping their personal preferences in mind. She was once the head maid so she knew almost everything about them but it would still prove to be a challenge since she only seems to have two or three people assisting her in the kitchen. He felt it was necessary to procure more hands that could help her with her work, like she requested.
"Young master? No, I am fine. You have people waiting for you. I can deal with this." She said it it with a tired smile, which made him worry about her health. Nicole would kill him if he overworked her.

"Alright." He knew it would be bad if his family saw him helping her. For all their goodness, they did have a slight hesitancy mingling with their staff, at least the older generation that grew up during the British emperial era.
There was a reason why all children of the family had to go through intensive etiquette classes since a young age. They needed to be properly educated and taught noble manners to fit into upper society.
He finally reached the living room, which seemed to have some changes but he stopped caring about them because he felt many eyes linger on his face. There were several rows of people sitting and enjoying their morning tea, some tense, some carefree.
Kenneth, Robert, and Donald took the most prominent seats over looking everyone. Patricia, Margaret, and his mother Laura sat closer to the next group of people, who were obviously Robyn, Dhia, Adele, Kate, and Bella. He knew at a glance he had to give his a game for this lineup!
