Chapter 751: Marriage Certificate

The paternity test report for Edward Stephens and George Stephens came out, and Edward Stephens made it public within the family.

He truly has no feelings for George Stephens at all, and he doesn’t care at all about the potential consequences of this action on George’s future.

Daisy Ginger feels sorry for the child George Stephens, but since this is a matter concerning Edward Stephens’ reputation, what he did is understandable.

Because Ryan Smith has a good relationship with Edward Stephens, no one inside or outside the Stephens family dares to gossip about Charlotte Smith, but Daisy can imagine how those who know the truth will view Charlotte and George in the future.

While Robert Stephens is alive, no one would dare to bully his son under his watch, but unfortunately, he has passed away long ago. Edward Stephens has made it clear that he will not take care of his former "illegitimate child," and how George will live in this family in the future is uncertain.

Fortunately, most of the inheritance Robert Stephens left was for George, and Edward did not make any deductions from George’s inheritance. Once the will was enacted, those assets were transferred to George’s name, and he can use them freely once he comes of age.

After doing all this, he decided to leave the United States and return to Banyan City with Daisy Ginger.

Daisy Ginger’s mood is no longer as lighthearted as it was when she first prepared to leave. She feels that Edward’s attitude towards George is too cold, and once he leaves, it would be a case of out of sight, out of mind, leaving George’s future uncertain.

Even though Lady Stephens can protect him, she neither manages affairs in the Stephens family nor is she young enough to protect George adequately.

With no other options, Daisy could only secretly reach out to Ryan Smith, hoping he could take good care of George where Charlotte couldn’t watch over him.

Though George Stephens isn’t Edward’s son, at the very least, he is Charlotte’s biological child, and as the uncle, Ryan should indeed look after his nephew.

Ryan readily agreed, but given his previous behavior, Daisy cautiously told him, "Take care of him, sure, but don’t bring any of your messy girlfriends around him, got it?"

Ryan rolled his eyes, "I don’t understand what you’re talking about."

"Don’t play dumb." Daisy said seriously, "Don’t lead George astray, you understand?"

"I’m very devoted right now, okay?" Ryan took out his phone and opened his photo album to show her, "I’ve been in a long-term relationship for years."

Daisy glanced up at him, seeing the enlarged pretty face on the screen, her expression grew darker.

"What nonsense are you talking?"

Ryan smirked, "Pretty, isn’t she?"

Daisy: "I wouldn’t trust her to you, you big womanizer!"

"That’s between me and my girlfriend. It’s none of your business."

Daisy looked at his smug expression and couldn’t help but feel uneasy—although she hadn’t contacted Elena Raven for a while, surely Elena wouldn’t have such poor taste and take a fancy to someone like Ryan, who is flashy on the outside but rotten inside?

After instructing Ryan to take good care of George after she and Edward leave, Daisy secretly called Elena.

Elena has been doing very well in the entertainment industry.

She has always had the acting skills and is young; her first movie swept all kinds of awards across Asia, almost becoming famous overnight, and now she is immensely popular.

At present, she already holds three Best Actress awards to her name and has been winning so many awards that she can’t keep track of them all—not the little girl who once followed her around.

Thinking about Elena having a connection with Ryan just inexplicably gives Daisy a headache.

The phone rang three times before it was picked up, and Elena’s soft voice came through: "Hello?"

Crossing time zones, Daisy asked softly, "Am I disturbing your rest?"

"Not at all." Elena laughed, "I’m shooting a night scene and currently on a break."

"Sweetie..." Daisy hesitated.

Elena laughed, "Daisy, what’s wrong? Why are you hesitating?"

"Are you dating someone?"

"No," Elena whispered, "I’m so busy at the moment that I don’t have time for a boyfriend."

"..." Daisy let out a sigh of relief; she knew it, that guy Ryan was just fantasizing.

She had clearly warned Elena about Ryan’s issues. No way Elena would be interested in Ryan.

"Do you still keep in touch with Ryan?" Daisy asked again.

Elena responded, "Yes, he sometimes comes to have meals with me."

"He hasn’t taken advantage of you, has he?" Daisy asked vigilantly.

Elena chuckled, "No, he hasn’t."

Daisy earnestly said, "That man is not a good person; the number of women whose clothes he’s taken off probably outnumbers the clothes you’ve worn. When our sweet Elena chooses a man, it absolutely can’t be someone like him. At least choose someone clean, otherwise, if you catch something from him, it’ll be troublesome."

Though Ryan needed to take care of George, Daisy still had to make things clear to Elena.

Elena obediently replied, "I know, Daisy."

After imparting more relationship advice to Elena, Daisy hung up the phone.

She feels that a simple and innocent young woman like Elena shouldn’t get involved with a predatory wolf like Ryan.

Ryan is a decent friend, but as a lover, he would surely break a woman’s heart as a playboy.

It’s strange enough that someone like Edward has a friend like Ryan, Daisy thought.

Thankfully, Edward wasn’t led astray by that guy Ryan.

Three days later, Daisy and Edward calmly returned to Banyan City.

Returning to the villa she had personally designed, seeing that huge wedding photo hanging over the bed, Daisy couldn’t help but feel a sense of surreal disconnection.

It’s been over nine years since they took that wedding photo.

In the album, she is smiling radiantly, while the man is expressionless, facing the camera as if he were taking a "funeral photo."

She still remembered how reluctant Edward was to take those photos back then.

She also remembered how sweet she felt walking out of the studio with him that day.

Unexpectedly, in a blink of an eye, so many years have passed.

The man hugged her from behind and kissed her cheek.

"Let’s find a time to retake our wedding photos," he said in her ear, "and by the way, let’s renew our marriage license."

Daisy looked up at him, involuntarily asking, "Why? I think they’re taken quite well."

The man’s voice was heavy, "I want to take them again."

Daisy turned around, looking at his face.

"What kind do you want to take?"

"The kind you like."

...

Of course, Edward’s plan to renew their license and retake wedding photos was abruptly dashed by Daisy’s unexpected pregnancy.

Half a month after returning from the United States to Banyan City, Daisy returned from the hospital and announced to Edward that she was already three months pregnant.
