Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen-Chapter 746: Paternal testing
Daisy Ginger threw a pillow at his head.
You’re the damn dog!
Edward Stephens chuckled softly and was about to get up when the phone next to Daisy’s pillow rang.
Their phones were placed together, and he casually picked it up, glancing at the screen.
His relaxed expression slowly faded. Daisy noticed the change in his demeanor and stopped joking around, looking at him and asking softly, "What’s wrong?"
"It’s nothing." He stood up straight. "It’s a call from my brother’s lawyer. I need to take it."
He quickly turned and headed to the restroom. Daisy sat up, slowly furrowing her brows.
Robert Stephens was already dead. Why would his lawyer call?
Could it be that he had some aspect of his will that was left unsaid?
Daisy quickly got out of bed and dressed. When Edward came out, she immediately asked, "Did the lawyer say anything?"
"He said..." Edward hesitated for a moment, "that I need to go out. There’s still something left from my brother to be announced."
Daisy was taken aback, said nothing, nodded, and then asked, "Do you need me to go with you?"
Edward shook his head. "I’ll go by myself. It’s likely a part of the inheritance hasn’t been fully settled. You should rest well at home."
Daisy agreed and didn’t say anything more, having breakfast with Edward and then seeing him off.
She didn’t think much of it until Lady Stephens suddenly called, secretly asking if Edward had taken George Stephens along, and what they were doing.
The names Edward and George Stephens were familiar to her, but hearing them together surprised Daisy.
Edward hadn’t come back but took George away.
This inexplicable matter made Daisy a bit worried.
She waited the whole day until near evening when Edward finally drove back looking worn out.
Daisy, who had been waiting all day, stood up as soon as she saw him return. "Edward?"
Edward’s handsome face looked solemn. Hearing her voice, he slowly raised his head to look over.
Daisy walked over, grabbing his hand, feeling how cold his fingers were.
"What happened?" Daisy asked. "Your mother called me today, saying you took George out. What did you do?"
Honestly, Daisy was a bit worried that Edward might bully George...
"My brother left a will for both Charlotte Smith and me," Edward said with a complicated expression. "He left some money for George and asked me to arrange a paternity test."
A paternity test.
Daisy was stunned, and her expression gradually mirrored Edward’s somber look.
"What does he mean?" 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Edward shook his head, just holding Daisy’s hand, both their palms felt chilled.
He led her to sit on the sofa. Daisy sat next to him, and they both fell silent.
George was a thorn in their relationship.
This thorn had softened in Daisy’s heart over time because she knew George’s birth had nothing to do with Edward; the one at fault wasn’t him, and the child was innocent.
But for Edward, as long as George was alive, he would suffer.
This thorn would only dig in deeper, never softening.
It would just cause him more pain.
Robert Stephens had asked him to do a paternity test for George...
Daisy slowly pressed her lips together.
She felt that she and Edward wouldn’t be able to leave Banyan City this week.
