Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen-Chapter 686: Do you want to take care of me?
"Actually, I think I’m pretty talented." The man shrugged at her, "Tell me what you want to eat, I can make it for you."
Daisy Ginger’s expression worsened.
"I don’t need you to cook."
"But you can’t get used to the food here either, can you?" He gently pointed at her chin. "You didn’t seem to eat anything this morning."
"Just take the money back, and I’ll leave."
"No." He said casually, laughing as he spoke.
Seeing his smug laugh made Daisy Ginger’s anger boil.
A dignified CEO running to the countryside to cook—what’s there to be proud of?
She was infuriated, while he seemed rather pleased with himself.
Daisy Ginger rubbed her temples, "The knife is so sharp. What if you accidentally cut yourself? And the fire, what if you get burned? I’ll just eat something random, don’t cook."
For some reason, the man chuckled softly.
He said, "Daisy Ginger, do you see me as a child? There’s no way I’d cut myself."
He seemed amused by her, laughing incessantly. Daisy Ginger was somewhat annoyed but couldn’t admit she was worried.
"Your platelet count is lower than average. If you can’t stop the bleeding in this remote area, what will you do?"
"I’m already healthy now. Besides, I’m a grown man, what’s there to be afraid of with a little blood?"
He looked indifferent.
Daisy Ginger found it hard to reason with him, simply looking coldly and forcefully slapped the table.
"You better not go into the kitchen."
The room quieted down, and Irene, who was eating noodles, was startled. She looked up in confusion and surveyed them.
Edward Stephens gently said to her, "It’s okay. She’s not mad at you. Keep eating."
"..."
Daisy Ginger took a deep breath, holding back her emotions, just glared at the man, stood up from the dining chair, and went out.
Edward Stephens propped his face up, looked up at the woman’s departing figure, his smile was wide, even somewhat intrigued.
Tsk.
He clicked his tongue lightly, and hummed softly in his mind.
*
During the day in the town, the sun was very bright.
Daisy Ginger walked out of the house and sat on the steps, basking in the sun for a while.
The surroundings were filled with birdsong and the fragrance of flowers. Apart from being sparsely populated, it was quite suitable for a vacation.
If Edward Stephens were just staying here for a holiday, it would be fine...
As she was thinking, footsteps sounded from behind. Daisy Ginger looked up to see Edward Stephens wearing shorts, carrying a fishing rod, and holding a red plastic bucket, walking out of the house.
Daisy Ginger instinctively stood up, "You..."
The man turned his head to look at her, lazily asked, "Wanna go fishing?"
"...Oh."
...
...
...
Daisy Ginger sat on the grass, watching the man skillfully bait the fishhook.
She hugged her legs, observing his leisurely demeanor.
"Are you not concerned about Ryan Smith anymore?"
"He’s a grown man, does he really need me to worry about him?"
"You know that’s not what I meant."
Edward Stephens put down the fishhook, "That’s never been the life I wanted."
"Then what do you want?" Daisy Ginger was fuming, "Is this what you want now?"
Edward Stephens nodded, "I think it’s pretty good."
Daisy Ginger angrily threw a pebble at his back.
The man exclaimed, "Ouch," turned his head to look at her, laughing, "I like it here. Why are you angry?"
"Loser."
Daisy Ginger scolded him.
The man burst into laughter, "I’m just that kind of loser. Why don’t you take care of me then?"
