Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen-Chapter 680: Be careful.
Daisy Ginger’s breath trembles slightly.
The man’s smile is subtle, with a trace of teasing ease, her face embarrassingly grows redder, unable to help squeezing out a voice from between her teeth, "Edward Stephens!"
"I am here. What’s the matter?"
He has an innocent expression, as if the man pressing her firmly onto the bed at this moment is not him at all.
"..." Daisy stares at his face, her eyelashes flutter uncontrollably, her heartbeat rising with her body temperature, an indescribable taste.
Edward’s smile gradually withdraws, he gazes at her face, his long fingers brushing against her cheek.
Daisy turns her head away, not looking at his face, her voice hoarse, "Go away."
Her tone carries a hint of tenderness.
The man, for some reason, sighs gently as if she is a pitiable little creature; his kiss falls upon her, landing on the sensitive side of her neck.
Daisy cannot withstand such touches, calling out, "Edward Stephens..."
Too hot, clearly she just took a bath, now she’s sweating again.
Her whole body feels like it’s being roasted on a spit.
The man watches her, his gaze becoming deeper.
...
Some time later.
The man stands up from the bed, facing away from her, fastening the buttons of his shirt.
The sky has thoroughly darkened, the room is murky, only the faint lights outside the window shine through the transparent glass, casting a long shadow on the bed.
Daisy lies in the soft bedding...
She opens her eyes, which are glazed with moisture, and looks at him.
The buttons fasten meticulously one by one, he quickly transforms into a neat appearance, the outline of his side face distinct.
"..."
Rather not recall what happened earlier, Daisy purses her lips, drawing her gaze back, pretending she saw nothing.
The last buckle of the belt fastens, Edward turns around, looking at Daisy, who is hugging the quilt with her back to him, "I’ll ask Irene to make you something to eat."
"Oh..." Her voice is lukewarm.
The man says nothing more, just lowers his head, kisses her face gently, then turns and leaves.
Daisy, with her back to him, raises her hand to touch the side of her face where Edward left his kiss, and then, somewhat annoyed, bites her lip, angrily bumping her forehead against the pillow a few times.
*
After an unknown amount of time, Edward comes back in through the door with dinner.
Daisy has already bathed, changed back into her clothes, and opened the window to ventilate.
"There’s no seafood here, you’ll have to make do. Tomorrow, I’ll go to the lakeside and catch some fish for you."
"..." Daisy glances at him, softly replying "Oh," getting up from the bed.
As she gets up, the man’s hand gently supports her waist.
"Careful."
She instinctively pushes his hand away, then feels she overreacted a bit, glancing up at Edward.
The man’s gaze falls on her face, giving her a slight smile, appearing very gentle and calm.
"...Thank you." She says softly, hurrying over to sit on the sofa, picking up the chopsticks.
