Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen-Chapter 663: He definitely wouldn’t miss her.
Daisy Ginger packed her luggage, planning to return to Banyan City.
Because of Robert Stephens, Daisy had been on the run with Erin Ginger for three years, never setting foot on their homeland.
Even when meeting old friends, it was always done secretly, fearing to expose her whereabouts.
Now that everything was settled, although Daisy wasn’t sure what Edward Stephens did to Robert, from Edward’s tone, it seemed certain that Robert was going to prison.
Perhaps she would never return to Chicago again.
Seeing that she was determined, Edward didn’t try to persuade her to stay any longer; he even squatted down to help her tidy up while she packed her clothes.
Looking as if he was at peace with the world.
Daisy had thought he might still try some tricks, but to her surprise, he was so compliant, which was unexpected. However, she didn’t say anything.
It seemed that little Erin also understood she was leaving. Although Daisy didn’t ask him whom he wanted to live with in the future, his recent dependency on her provided the answer.
She booked two plane tickets for three days later.
The day before leaving, Daisy looked for George Stephens and told him she was leaving the next day. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
The child was still skipping school every day, not very obedient. Although Charlotte was his mother, his nominal father was Edward, so he could only stay with the Stephens family and couldn’t be taken out by Charlotte. Many times, she couldn’t manage him.
This arrogant child remained as unruly as ever, creating chaos in the Stephens family every day.
However, the way the servants of the Stephens family treated him was no longer as cautious as before. Without Robert’s unconditional pampering, George was just a child not loved by Edward in the family.
Other than being Edward’s illegitimate son, he was nothing.
The natural water was clear, and the sun was just right. George sneaked out of the study and was lying on the grass by the lake, dozing.
Somehow, Daisy instinctively knew where the child was hiding, and she found George relaxing and sleeping under the shade of a tree.
Upon hearing footsteps, the child, alert, immediately sat up and relaxed only when he saw it was her.
"Why are you here?" His black eyes looked at her, reflecting her face.
Daisy sat down beside him. "Didn’t you ask me to let you know when I was leaving? I’m leaving tomorrow and was afraid I wouldn’t have time to tell you."
George blinked at Daisy for a moment before responding softly, "Oh."
"Are you leaving too?"
Daisy looked down at him, smiled, and teased, "Reluctant to see me go?"
"No." George sat up cross-legged. "I knew you wouldn’t stay long here."
"Oh?" Daisy raised an eyebrow at his words.
"You’re different from everyone in this household; you don’t fit in with the life here." George lowered his head, pulled a blade of grass, and played with it in his hand. "I just feel like there are fewer and fewer people here."
He was still just a small child, yet a trace of loneliness seeped into his tone.
His lineage had brought indelible harm to her and Edward, but he himself was innocent.
Daisy reached out, drew him into her embrace, and ruffled his small head.
"If you ever miss me, come find me for fun. I’ll treat you well."
"Hmph." George pushed her away clumsily and held down the short, soft hair that Daisy had messed up, haughtily saying, "I won’t miss you. Once you leave, I’ll forget about you tomorrow!"
Daisy looked at him, this little child’s face bearing a prematurely stubborn expression, reminding her of Erin in the past.
Gently, she said, "Well, I will miss you."
"..." George paused, looked up at Daisy, with his delicate and handsome features. He was actually quite beautiful, raised very well by Robert.
Except for his temper.
Daisy spoke softly, "Really. If you miss me again, give me a call and I’ll come to get you. I’ll take you for some lobster noodles, okay?"
George’s small face puffed up, seemingly starting to get a little angry. He lowered his head and said irritably, "You women are all liars."
His voice was muffled.
Daisy felt a bit like laughing at his words, "Who said that?"
"The teacher said it."
"Well, what he said may not be true. At least I’ve never lied to anyone."
George lifted his head, giving her a disdainful look, and clicked his tongue, "Big liar."
Daisy laughed, "I’m really not lying to you."
Honestly, Daisy was quite reluctant to part with this child.
She had watched him grow up, from a bratty little boy to this slender, noble young master.
Now that Edward was in charge, his days at the Stephens family would probably get increasingly difficult.
Being born was his original sin. Edward would never like him in this lifetime, even though he bore his surname, and Charlotte couldn’t take him away from the Stephens family.
What the future held for him, she didn’t know.
Daisy made a grasshopper out of grass and slipped it into his hand. "Here, a parting gift."
George looked at the cheap gift in his hand with disdain, almost wanting to throw it away, "You’re really stingy!"
Daisy stood up from the ground and dusted off her pants, "I’m poor, you know."
George squeezed the grasshopper and looked up at her, "Are you really leaving tomorrow?"
"Do you want to see me off?"
"Too lazy." He sneered, turning away, not sure what he was sulking about. "Actually, our family is pretty good, with lots of space and houses. If you don’t like living here, you can move to the east side; it’s quiet there."
"..." Daisy sighed lightly. She could tell that George was reluctant to see her go. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have come to say goodbye.
He was a good kid, just went a bit astray as a child, but he could change.
She raised her hand, waved at him, "I’m leaving now."
"..." George looked at her, pressed his lips together, said nothing, just turned away angrily, ignoring her.
Daisy found that she was more reluctant to leave this little rascal than Edward, perhaps because Edward was an adult and wouldn’t destroy himself with his antics, but George was still a little boy who might cause trouble without Robert’s protection.
But after all, she wasn’t his real mother.
With a sigh in her heart, Daisy turned and left quietly.
Lying on his side, George listened to the footsteps behind him, opened his eyes, spread his palm, looked at the ugly grasshopper Daisy had made, then slowly closed his eyes again.
So ugly, not as nice as the ones he made.
Not skillful at all, he would never miss her.
Never.
He pressed his lips together, holding back his tears.
