Chapter 593: Like Dad

Daisy Ginger sat on the bed holding little Erin Ginger, taking alcohol wipes from the maid to disinfect the scrapes on his face.

Erin sat obediently on her lap, and after Daisy finished treating his wounds, he softly called her, "Mommy."

Daisy casually tossed the alcohol wipes into the trash can, looked up at him, and replied, "Hmm?"

"Are you angry?"

Daisy studied Erin’s small face; the little guy seemed a bit anxious under her gaze.

Then, Daisy chuckled, reached out, and gently pinched Erin’s cheek, "Why would I be angry? You did a great job."

Erin looked at her, bewildered.

"If someone bullies you, of course, you should fight back. You can’t just let others bully you in vain." Daisy hugged him, ruffling his soft short hair, "Erin did great. How could Mommy be angry?"

It seemed Daisy’s words encouraged Erin, and his tense expression gradually relaxed. He said nothing, just thudded forward into Daisy’s embrace, clinging tightly to her waist.

Daisy was nearly knocked over by him, but Erin’s rare moment of affection filled her with joy. She quietly held him for a while, only getting up when a servant knocked on the door, indicating it was time to head downstairs for dinner.

That night, while bathing, Daisy noticed several bruises on Erin’s little belly. Her precious one, never before subjected to such grievances, Daisy rubbed the swollen areas, regretting not having scolded George Stephens even more.

The day had been chaotic, and it was almost midnight when she finally lay back in bed.

Erin was nestled by her side, already asleep.

Leaning against the headboard, Daisy took out her phone and sent a WeChat message to Edward Stephens: "Edward, I saw you today."

Sooner or later, wouldn’t there be a new message from him on the screen?

She believed firmly that Edward Stephens wouldn’t abandon her and Erin, wouldn’t just forget them like that.

In the morning, Daisy washed up Erin and led him downstairs.

The servant guided them into the dining room.

Lady Stephens was already seated there, beaming at their entrance, "Daisy, everything’s made to your taste. What does little Erin like to eat? I’ve had them prepare traditional Chinese breakfast. He eats Chinese food, right?"

Daisy didn’t respond, just nodded, placing Erin in a chair and giving him soy milk and little steamed buns.

Erin, with his short arms and legs, was still not very adept with chopsticks. Daisy fed him a small steamed bun, and he sat contentedly beside her, eyes smiling and cheeks puffed while eating.

Seeing this, Lady Stephens was filled with delight, "Little Erin is so well-behaved, just like our Edward when he was young!"

Realizing the possible indiscretion, she quickly glanced at Daisy. Upon seeing Daisy’s unchanged expression, she breathed a sigh of relief.

After all, Erin was Edward Stephen’s son, so Daisy had no reason to be upset. Moreover, it wasn’t the first time someone noted the resemblance between father and son.

Erin ate five little steamed buns and was full. He hugged the soy milk cup alone, sipping his drink quietly beside Daisy.

Quietly and serenely, he resembled Edward Stephens more than George in his demeanor.

Even Lady Stephens couldn’t help but sigh, realizing that George Stephens really had been spoiled, bullying cats and dogs at a young age, unlike the composed nature he hadn’t inherited from his father.
