Chapter 158: Marry someone else!

King Vilas already left for the garden, leaving behind Alice with her troop. She was supposed to follow her father at his back, however, her legs stopped and were now rotated in Cyrus’s direction.

She ran in his direction, to hold his shoulders firmly and not tear her gaze away from him even for a single minute, "Don’t worry, I’ll see what I can do."

"Will you be able to handle this all?" Cyrus asked. His voice was currently filled with uncertainty about the events that will happen just now.

In return, Alice passed him a solid grin, which traced from her lips to her eyes. It was evident that she had a strong belief in her own ethics and convincing power.

But the same can’t be said for Cyrus, who was still living in doubt, about whether it would be better to let her convince her father alone.

To not lower her confidence, Cyrus finally nodded his head and after receiving acknowledgment, Alice ran into the diction of the garden. It was already known to her about the garden about which the father talked, was of no one else but of her mother’s.

Whereas, Cyrus was still staring at the back of his wife until he disappeared. He closed his eyes and then, reopened them.

But his state held the complexities in itself.

While he stayed still, the old man Kian was a better watcher. He had already seen the look that had plated on Cyrus’s face which had now vanished into the air.

"You are afraid, his Highness?"

"Stop calling me with that. Call me, Prince Cyrus." he told Kian with a better, more strict tone and this made Kian laugh, "Already passing orders. Anyways, why are you worried?"

For a minute, Cyrus stayed quiet. His silence was deeper than any ocean right now and it was hard to disobey that he felt that things weren’t easier either.

Taking a deep breath, Cyrus finally opened his mouth, "I feel.... that, they will snatch her from me."

"Princess Alice?"

"Yes. After they will learn that I’m no one, currently. The chances are greater." He told Kian honesty and Kian had turned his face more seriousness.

There was no space left for him to show his discomfort but the fear, and anxiety that rose under his heart.

Why were these emotions flourishing right now? It was all unknown to him. But he didn’t react that much, when Kian questioned back,"Well, that isn’t the question. It is, are you willing to let her go?"

"Absolutely not," Cyrus answered without missing a single breath.

"Then, why be afraid? She will not leave you if she hadn’t done it till now." Kian shifted his focus to look in the direction, where Princess Alice had gone, "...Moreover, if necessary, fight for her. If it means keeping her by your side, show your sincerity towards her and I’m sure, her father will understand that his daughter needs you as much as you need her."

’Because you both are meant to be together for a lifetime...’

.....

At the same spot, Alice had already told her father about all the events. Whatever that Kian told her, as well as how King Almen was known to kill him and acquire his hand on the entire empire.

King Vilas faced the fountain, as his back faced Princess Alice. She was standing at a certain distance, trying to counter her anxiousness that rested and crawled under her skin. The silence took a long beat and this made her heart shatter in her ribcage.

However, at last, King Vilas finally muttered, "So...he isn’t the righteous Prince."

"He is! It’s just that, King Almen isn’t the rightful King!" Alice hurriedly corrected.

"You are wrong, Alice." King Vilas turned around to face Alice with his deep eyes, "It doesn’t matter who is rightful or not. In his language, he is the one on the throne and that is all that matters. He defeated King Derek and this makes him the real King."

"But is defeating with wrong methods the correct option, father?" Alice questioned back with the strong firm on her words, "Will you support how he went against his entire family. He sacrificed the lives of thousands to restore that place and position."

"In the end, he is the King and this makes Prince Cyrus nothing." KIng Vilas finally gave the ultimate truth that neither denied.

Probably, Alice understood that her father didn’t take much stand on what she said. It was all past and he doesn’t live in the past. He lives in the present and their present was staring at them like a wide solid wall.

Alice didn’t fight back anymore with words. She stayed silent, to finally nodding her head at his last sentence and this made King Vilas’s lips turn grim.

His brows turned into a frown, when he started to be compassionate towards his daughter, trying to find the holes and the emotions, "You are asking me to help a vampire. Vampire? Alice, have you lost your mind?"

Alice straight away lifted her head to stare back at him with pride, "He is my husband as well."

"I’m not forgetting that.. But is it highly expressed that you have started to acknowledge him as your husband in a few days and nights?" King Vilas expressed his amusement.

He was certain and remembered how rock solid his daughter’s belief was that she will never regard that Prince as her husband.

Suddenly, this change was drastic and hard to digest in one go.

In regard to this Alice didn’t beat around the bush. She gave a simple look: He is my husband and I’m not denying this.

But more to this, King Vilas had a reason to be upset with her. He didn’t spare her much, but the frustration already had appeared again in his eyes.

"I have decided on Alice."

Hearing this, Alice’s ears burned up. Out of the blue, this didn’t give her any good feelings either, "W-what have you decided so quickly?"

"That you are going to marry someone else and go away from this Vampire. Since he isn’t a Prince, this marriage doesn’t hold anything. I will look for a prospective candidate for you so that you can stay away from him."
