Dimensional Streamer: Infinite Views in Another World-Chapter 41: Honesty
The drive to the school was peaceful.
It was short as well.
But the time Noa had to spend alone was enough for him to feel the absence of a companion.
Clara was his first real friend.
Yes, she was quiet in the car, but her presence was comforting still.
Now, Noa was left with his own thoughts, and he had no idea what to do with them. It was as if he forgot to bring headphones on a long journey, and the only entertainment he was left with was his imagination.
Even then, he was glad to make a new friend.
Life felt less lonely because of that.
Soon, he reached the familiar school entrance and saw students rushing out in every direction. Among the sea of people, Noa easily spotted Hana’s tiny figure.
She had been waiting by the gate; her backpack, almost twice her size, looked slightly crooked.
But the moment her eyes landed on the car, her face lit up.
"Brother!" she shouted from afar, waving enthusiastically.
Seeing her reaction, the built-up emotions forced Noa to smile. He quickly parked the car, stepped out, and patted her head as she ran towards him. "Hey, kiddo, how was school today?"
Hana puffed her cheeks.
She looked adorable when she pretended to think hard. "Hmm... math was hard as always. The teacher scolded me for drawing in my notebook. But lunch was great."
"Is that so?" Noa laughed softly.
He watched her closely to see her mood.
Instead of asking about the bullies right away, he just listened to her as they walked to the car together.
Her voice was full of vigor. It was hard to tell what was hidden behind her calmness.
The drive back home was no longer peaceful.
With Hana by his side, the entire situation shifted into a chaotic mess. She kept kicking her legs in rhythm and hummed cheerfully.
No matter what she endured at school, one thing was clear—just having her brother pick her up was enough to put a smug smile on her face and make her forget about everything else.
Noa remained silent the entire time.
He just let her be.
When they reached the apartment and he opened the door, they both froze.
Somehow, the tiny and bleak living room looked brighter. The sunlight hadn’t done anything.
It was because of something that stood there.
The state-of-the-art gaming setup that the system gave him as a reward was already assembled, waiting for his arrival.
Two wide curved monitors, glowing RGB lighting that somehow didn’t seem tacky, and two ergonomic chairs with two custom DualSense controllers looked straight out of a professional streamer’s room.
Even the table was brand new, giving away enough space for a mechanical keyboard and a monster beside it.
The highlight was, of course, the PC itself.
It was a white beast with a new GeForce RTX 5090 and Ryzen 9 9950X3D. Without a doubt, it could run any game on ultra settings and allow the siblings to experience what true gaming was like.
The first thing Noa noticed about the PC was how quiet it was.
Custom water cooling for the CPU allowed very good airflow, ensuring better stability with less throttling.
"Whoa..." Hana’s eyes widened momentarily. "Did you rob Santa, brother?"
Setting his keys aside, Noa chuckled. "Something like that." Everything seemed perfect, like the system had read his desire and turned it into reality.
The little girl walked closer.
She jumped onto the chair, enjoying its softness. "Can we play first?" she asked, her eyes sparking in excitement. "I promise I will do the homework after."
Seeing her face and feeling a tight clutch on his sleeve, he nodded.
"Of course we can."
He smiled and squeezed her cheek.
But instead of sitting down, he crouched beside her. "First, though... we have to talk about something."
He spoke gently, not to pressure her but to sound understanding and sincere.
Hana felt it as well.
That’s why her cheerful expression softened.
Noa kept his voice gentle. "The girls we saw yesterday. How did they treat you today?"
For a moment, the girl hesitated. She was unsure how to express herself and didn’t want to worry Noa too much. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"It’s okay," he said warmly. "It’s my responsibility and my choice to worry about you."
Hana looked down at her shoes.
Then slowly, as if Noa’s words worked on her, she raised her head and whispered, "They didn’t talk to me today."
Noa didn’t react right away.
He carefully studied her reaction.
Finally, he patted her head again and said with a soft tone, "That’s good. As long as they don’t bother you."
Hana nodded.
She even forced a smile, clearly not satisfied with the result.
"There are other girls and boys in your class, right?" Noa asked upon seeing her hesitation. "You should be friends with someone who doesn’t judge you because of your clothes. I am sure there has to be at least one person who would be like that."
"You think so?" she asked, her eyes expecting confirmation.
"Of course. I know how fun it is to hang out with you. It’s just that others don’t know that yet because they simply didn’t have the chance. Who knows, when you make friends, you might not even want to play with me anymore."
Hearing this, Hana shook her head and laughed wholeheartedly.
"You are already jealous, big brother?"
Noa sighed. "And here I thought you would say you would still play with me."
Instead of answering, Hana hugged him. "Thank you," she muttered and kissed him on the cheek. "But you have to make friends as well."
Noa snorted upon hearing this. "Funny you mention that..." he paused, locking eyes with the girl. "Do you remember the beautiful blonde woman?"
Hana nodded.
The woman had left quite an impression on her.
Noa grinned and continued, "...I called her today, and we became close. We even played some games together."
"Really?" Hana exclaimed in surprise. She never knew her brother was actually a player. "She likes you, right? And you like her as well, right?"
Under the barrage of her questions, Noa smiled softly. "I don’t know."
"Booo!" Hana exclaimed, shaking her head.
Seeing her adorable expression, Noa stood up and turned towards the glowing setup. "Alright, it’s time to see what this monster can do."
