His soul-Chapter 461: Giovana’s new journey
It was still very early in the morning when Gina was running in the hospital hallways, as soon as she received news from Lucas about Giovana being critical, Gina immediately forced Massimo to go to the hospital. Because she was too panicked and worried, Gina just washed her face and brushed her teeth without taking a bath. Massimo did the same thing, luckily last night after making love they both took a shower first so that when they woke up in the morning their bodies were not too sticky with sweat.
"Honey, watch your step!" From behind Massimo gave a warning to Gina who kept running towards Giovana’s treatment room.
Actually Massimo could have run and caught up with Gina, but because he didn’t want to mess up the hospital situation, Massimo finally decided to walk at a slightly faster tempo.
Gina herself, who was already too worried, ignored Massimo’s warning, all she had in her head right now was to see Giovana as soon as possible. Gina’s heart rate finally slowed when she saw Lucas sitting blankly staring at the door of the ICU where Giovana was lying.
"Luke!"
A call from Gina managed to make Lucas look away. "Gina..."
Gina bit her lower lip when she saw Lucas’ lips move, seeing how messed up Lucas was, it made Gina feel sick too.
"How is she?" asked Gina quietly.
Lucas shook his head. "Ana has not made any significant progress, her condition is still not stable."
"Actually what happened to Giovana, Luke? Wasn’t she still fine last night? She’s still smiling at me, Luke."
Lucas lowered his head slowly, trying to hide his tears from being seen by Gina.
"Luke..."
"Ana, my daughter...she...the doctor said Ana has leukemia."
Gina immediately covered her mouth with both hands. "L-leukemia?"
"Inherited by her mother. That woman passed on the disease-carrying gene to my daughter, she didn’t want to die alone. She now wants to take my daughter too, Gina."
Gina widened her eyes when she heard Lucas’ words, she couldn’t believe Lucas would speak so evilly about the woman who had given birth to a child for him. When she was confused about what to do, Gina was suddenly surprised by the touch of Massimo’s hand which was on her shoulder, Gina instantly turned her face towards Massimo who was already standing beside her.
"Follow me," Massimo said in a low barely audible voice.
Gina nodded slowly, slowly getting up from her chair and following Massimo’s footsteps towards the end of the hall away from where Lucas was sitting.
"Our presence is not needed here," said Massimo seriously.
"Eh?"
"That kid, umm Giovana I mean, her life expectancy is low."
"What..how can...hmmpp.."
Massimo immediately covered Gina’s mouth with both hands quickly. "Keep your voice down, we’re at the hospital."
Gina nodded slowly.
"I’ve spoken to one of the doctors who treated that child, the doctor said that Giovana’s life expectancy is low."
"But can’t Leukemia be cured? I heard that many people have won against this disease and..."
"Lucas’s spinal cord doesn’t suit her, if a child gets sick like that then only her immediate family can help. Mother, father, brother or sister. And in the case of Giovana you know for yourself that that child has no mother, because ..."
"Jesus!" squealed Gina spontaneously.
"Yeah, right now the doctors are just hoping for a miracle while continuing to look for the right donor for that child."
Gina squeezed Massimo’s hand tightly. "You have to help her, Massimo."
"We are outsiders, Gina. There’s nothing I can do about this, and neither can you," Massimo said quietly.
Gina’s eyes felt hot, tears immediately gathered in her eyes. Seeing Gina almost crying Massimo acted quickly, Massimo gently lifted Gina’s chin up. "You’re not allowed to cry, have you forgotten that?"
"I didn’t forget."
"Goodgirl, then kiss me."
"Hah?"
"Yeah, kiss me. You haven’t given me a morning kiss this morning, you certainly haven’t forgotten about it, have you?"
"But this is at the hospital, Massimo," Gina answered softly with her cheeks flushed red with embarrassment.
"Then?"
Gina took a deep breath, she forgot Massimo was a person who had no shame at all. That’s why Gina relented, slightly twitching Gina’s feet and directing her lips to Massimo. Massimo, who had been waiting for this opportunity, immediately grabbed Gina’s body, helping her to carry out her intention more quickly. With the help of Massimo’s strong hand movements, Gina finally managed to land her lips on Massimo’s. Massimo, who didn’t want to lose, immediately licked Gina’s lips without mercy, with his ability Massimo managed to make Gina gasp for breath in no time.
Massimo actually didn’t want to let Gina go that fast, he still wanted to feel Gina’s lips deeper. Had it not been for a nurse walking over to them, Massimo might still have kept Gina immersed in his game.
A young nurse who passed by Gina and Massimo immediately lowered his head. She looked awry when she saw how swollen Gina’s lips were now. As a fellow nurse woman could tell what caused the thin lips to change in a short time, Gina who had not realized what was happening to her looked confused when she saw the nurse’s behavior that looked very rushed.
"What is it?" asked Massimo, quietly teasing Gina.
"No, I was just a little surprised to see the nurse. She looks weird."
Massimo chuckled. "Never mind, now we’re going to meet Lucas. Give me enough moral support, you already know what Giovana’s condition is like."
"Yes, I understand."
"Goodgirl, this is just my smart wife." After saying that Massimo then took Gina’s hand and led her to walk to where Lucas was sitting.
Just as Massimo and Gina were almost there where Lucas was sitting, suddenly the door to Giovana’s treatment room opened. A nurse panicked and immediately asked Lucas to come into the room, seeing that Gina immediately stopped her steps. Both of her hands also immediately grabbed Massimo’s arm.
"Shhh calm down, everything will be fine," said Massimo quietly trying to calm Gina who was already panicking.
"But that nurse earlier..."
"Everything will be fine, dear. Giovana is in the care of the best doctors in this hospital, they will definitely do their best for Giovana."
Gina shook her head slowly, she knew what Massimo was saying at this moment was only a reassuring sentence for her. After all, hadn’t Massimo already told you about Giovana’s true condition? Then how could Massimo now say like that as if Giovana’s condition was really fine. Gina’s feelings were really mixed by Massimo.
While she was contemplating what to do, suddenly Gina’s sense of hearing heard a very loud scream from inside Giovana’s treatment room whose door was slightly. A painful scream emanating from a man who had lost his daughter, Gina’s chest immediately tightened. Lucas’ screams and roars called for Giovana over and over again making him unable to hold on any longer, his legs immediately felt weak as soon as the image of the same incident, seven years ago when she lost her mother, came back into Gina’s mind.
Realizing that something was wrong, Massimo immediately wrapped his arms around Gina’s waist. And sure enough, as soon as Massimo’s hand landed on that slender waist, Gina’s ability to stand up disappeared. Her body was weak and her consciousness was lost, Massimo who panicked immediately screamed for a nurse to help him take care of the unconscious Gina. Even though Lucas is currently in a very poor condition, Massimo prefers to take care of Gina first. After all, dead people don’t die twice, do they?
Arriving at one of the empty rooms, Gina was immediately laid on the bed carefully by Massimo. After making sure Gina was in her best position, a nurse who had guided Massimo to the treatment room began to do a good job. Giving first aid to Gina, while Massimo is tensely waiting for Gina’s examination to finish. From the front, there was a loud stomping sound. It seemed that Lucas’ men immediately came to Giovana’s treatment room when they heard the news of Giovana’s death.
Dimly Massimo heard the cry of a woman calling out Giovana’s name, Massimo knew who the voice belonged to. Giovana’s maid and caregiver since birth, Margarita. Even though he only heard Margarita’s voice on the phone last night when Gina was on a video call with Giovana, Massimo already knew the voice of the middle-aged woman by heart.
The situation on the third floor of the biggest hospital in Barcelona was immediately filled with clouds, Giovana’s death had spread throughout the hospital. The only daughter of Lucas Dominic, one of the important people whose name is quite famous in mainland Spain, managed to make everyone who heard the news of her death feel sad. Various articles in print and electronic media immediately competed to raise this sad news, even now hundreds of articles on social media discussing Giovana’s death have spread like a virus.
Seeing the inappropriate news, Massimo then turned off his cellphone. Massimo still has the heart not to try to make profit on Lucas’ misfortune, even though his relationship with Lucas is like oil and fire but Massimo still has a bit of tenderness not to do the same thing as those people did.
"Goodbye beautiful child, I’m sure now you are happy to meet your mother," said Massimo in his heart, without taking his eyes off Gina who was starting to wake up from her stupor. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
