His soul-Chapter 329: Want to be happy
Massimo’s world was moving so slowly, the time that passed felt like it was mocking him. The days without Gina beside him were so stifling. All his work was neglected, even the affairs of Almeria until Massimo put aside. Even though at this time his presence in Almeria was very much needed, fortunately Martin was quick to rack his brain and take care of everything quickly without asking Massimo’s approval first.
Julian’s not being allowed to visit Gina made Massimo a mess, every night all he did was look at all the tapes that had passed in his room alone in a room in complete darkness. Massimo would sit staring at his laptop until the sun rose and sleep afterwards until lunch time, Massimo would only leave his room at dusk to fill his stomach and stand in the garden where Gina was married to for a few minutes before finally going back into the room to repeat activity again, staring at Gina from her laptop screen.
"How is it, Capt? Are we going to just sit around watching Master continue like this?" Darius asked quietly as he watched Massimo enter his room again.
Martin swallowed. "I can’t do anything, Darius. This kind of thing has never happened before."
"Do we need to break into the Sanders residence for the Master?"
"No!" Martin raised two octaves of his voice. "It’s too dangerous, Julian Sanders could go even further by banning Master from seeing his wife forever. We must be patient, Darius."
"But I can’t bear to see Master’s condition like this, Master has drastically changed into someone we don’t know."
Martin clenched his jaw. "Neither can I have the heart, but it can’t be helped. We can’t act rashly."
"Then what should we do now, Capt?"
"Waiting for Master to return to the way he was," Martin replied in a low barely audible voice.
"Until when? A week has passed, Capt."
Martin shook his head, unable to answer Darius’ question. Massimo’s drastic change in attitude had really messed things up.
As soon as he landed his ass back on the chair, Massimo then played the video of his marriage to Gina on the projector. In such a large display, Gina’s beautiful face is more clearly visible, her curves are perfectly sculpted in a wedding dress that fits her body perfectly. At that time Gina really looked perfect even though her eyes still harbored sadness.
Massimo touched his left chest when he heard Gina say the wedding vows, his eyes glazed over at Gina whose face was still covered by her see-through veil.
"I thought after tying you up in marriage I’d be able to get your whole heart, Gina," Massimo said hoarsely. "What else do I have to do to make you only see me, Gina?"
Aster Cedars Hospital, Jebel Ali. Dubai, UAE. 3. PM.
Brigitta handed Patrick mineral water with a smiling face. "You need this."
"Thanks, honey," Patrick replied softly.
"Gina?"
"Her hypnotherapy session just finished, her condition is much better. If this continues we can immediately leave this hospital."
"Oh God, this is great news. Thank goodness everything went well," said Brigitta gratefully.
Patrick smiled, slowly downing the water that Brigitta had given him. For a whole week taking good care of Gina made her look thinner, the dark circles under her eyes are also clearly visible now. Having owed his life to Sandra made Patrick willing to do anything to protect Gina, including this time when he had to be willing to lose his job at the embassy. Ditching without news for a week meant that Patrick had to be dishonorably fired.
"Everything’s going to be okay," Brigitta said softly as she wiped Patrick’s lips from the remaining water.
Patrick smiled. "Of course, as long as you keep me company then everything will be fine for me."
Brigitte chuckled. "Don’t talk nonsense, this is a hospital."
"Why should we be ashamed? We are husband and wife?" said Patrick jokingly.
"Patrick, stop it! Don’t keep teasing me."
Patrick laughed, he slowly opened his arms and hugged Brigitta tightly. "After Gina recovers we will live a new life together, are you ready to take care of one more child?"
"What are you talking about? Of course I’m ready, especially since the child is Gina. The daughter of a woman who has donated a kidney to you," Brigitta answered hoarsely.
Patrick’s eyes filled with tears when Brigitta brought up Sandra’s sacrifice about seventeen years ago when Gina was three years old, at that time Patrick was seriously ill and was sentenced to be unable to survive because both his kidneys had problems and could no longer work properly. Brigitta, who was pregnant at that time, panicked because she thought she would lose her husband while she was pregnant, lucky Sandra came at the right time to the hospital.
Holding baby Gina in her arms, Sandra offered her one kidney to Patrick willingly. Patrick, who is on the verge of death, initially refuses, and so does Brigitta. However, because Sandra kept pushing, the husband and wife were forced to accept Sandra’s kindness. As God had determined, Sandra’s kidney was perfect for Patrick. Without experiencing any difficulties, the kidney transplant process was carried out, Brigitta patiently took care of Gina who was very sweet and obedient. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Until then, what we do for Gina will not be able to repay all Sandra’s kindness to us, Brigitta. My life is Sandra’s gift," Patrick said hoarsely as he remembered Sandra’s smile the first time after they had done the surgery.
Brigitta nodded slowly. "Yeah you’re right, because it’s now our job to take care of Gina. Although it’s late, I’m sure we can be good parents for Gina."
Patrick nodded quietly silently, his hands gripping Brigitta who also looked thinner.
After the operation was successful, Patrick vowed to take good care of Sandra and Gina that time. But Sandra gladly refused the help offered by Patrick and Brigitta, at that time Sandra said she could take care of herself and Gina well alone. Moreover, at that time Sandra had a permanent job at a small book printing company which had a good pay.
"Time flies so fast, Brigitta. And this is our chance to repay all of Sandra’s kindness, I hope you don’t tire of helping me pay this debt," Patrick whispered softly.
"Don’t worry, honey. I don’t mind at all, haven’t you ever brought Gina home since the first time I asked you to keep her in our house right now?"
Patrick smiled wryly. "I’m sorry, if only I had been more firm then maybe Gina would be fine now."
"Everything that happened was arranged by God well, Patrick. Now what we have to do is live everything that God has outlined as well as possible," said Brigitta softly.
"Yeah you’re right," Patrick answered quietly. "Oh yeah I almost forgot. I have good news for you."
Brigitta let go of Patrick’s arm. "Happy news? What happy news?"
"I got a job offer as Head Financial Manager at one of the best property companies in New York," Patrick answered quietly, his voice shaking with emotion.
Brigitta’s eyes widened. "You’re not joking, are you?"
"I’m not joking, they even have a house and a car ready for us."
"Oh Patrick." Brigitta immediately hugged Patrick tightly. "Thankfully, God hears our prayers."
"Yeah you’re right, God seems to support all our plans," Patrick said gratefully.
Brigitta nodded her head quickly, previously Patrick had planned to take Gina to move to America to continue living in a small village in Seattle. With enough money in his savings to continue living in America for five years, Patrick had the courage to make such a big decision. But it seems that God is so much better than Patrick thought. In just one attempt to send job applications to several big New York companies, Partick immediately got amazing offers.
Being Oxford University’s top graduate made it easy for Patrick to get a job after leaving the embassy where he had been for years. Now Patrick realized why Sandra had asked him to stay in Spain, other than to look after Gina, it seemed that Sandra knew that one day Patrick would get a much better job than where he had been at the embassy.
"Sandra, I will make sure Gina is fine after this, Brigitta and I will take good care of her. Rest in peace with God, Sandra. Thank you again for all your kindness to us." Patrick spoke to his heart sincerely, his eyes welling with tears at the memory of the smile on Sandra’s face. An extraordinary woman that Julian had lost.
Patrick had just released his arms from Brigitta when he saw two doctors who had been brought in from Japan out of Gina’s treatment room with Doctor Fatma, one of Brigitta’s acquaintances who worked at Aster Cedars Hospital. Without wasting time, Patrick approached the three doctors and asked how Gina’s condition had improved tremendously. From behind the door that wasn’t completely closed, Patrick smiled and gave a heart symbol to Gina, who had just gotten a replacement infusion bottle.
"Fighting," Patrick said softly to Gina.
Gina nodded slowly with a smile, although her face was still pale but did not reduce her beauty. Her green eyes also looked more radiant and energetic now, unlike a few days ago when she had just woken up from her deep slumber.
"I just want to be happy, God." Gina spoke silently without changing her expression, staring at Patrick and Brigitta who were talking to their three personal doctors.
