Chapter 321: Please, leave my daughter!

After a long thrilling journey, Massimo and his men finally arrived at the hospital where Gina was being treated, Massimo’s face looked pale and tense as he started to walk in the hospital lobby.

"Madam is on the fifth floor of the VIP room, sir," Martin said quietly, reporting Gina’s whereabouts to Massimo.

"Ok, we go straight to the fifth floor," said Massimo flatly without changing his facial expression.

Martin stepped out of Massimo’s presence, giving Massimo access to walk first to the elevator that was already being held by Darius, who looked tense when he found out that his mistress had been admitted to the hospital for attempting suicide. As soon as Massimo got into the elevator, Martin immediately followed him and immediately stood in front of Massimo’s left, where he usually stood when he was in the elevator. A safety protocol that he has followed for years.

The movement of the elevator to the fifth floor was very slow for Massimo who couldn’t wait to meet Gina, his lover, his little girl, the only woman who could make him uneasy. As soon as he heard the news about Gina trying to commit suicide, Massimo immediately ordered the pilot of his private jet to return to Barcelona immediately. However, due to the prevailing regulations, as a result, Massimo’s private jet still had to land in Almeria first and was not allowed to rotate in the sky because it was feared that it would disrupt other flight schedules. So finally Massimo arrived longer in Barcelona.

"We’ve arrived, sir," Martin said quietly, breaking Massimo’s thoughts as soon as the elevator stopped on the fifth floor.

Massimo nodded his head in response to Martin’s words, with firm steps Massimo got out of the elevator to the place where Gina was being treated. But just past the nurses’ guardhouse, Massimo’s steps stopped when he met ten of Julian’s bodyguards who were standing tall.

"Who are you, why are you blocking our way?" asked Martin politely.

"We were ordered by Mr. Sanders to stand guard here."

"You know who the person you’re blocking his way is right now?" Martin asked again.

"Of course we know."

"If you know, get out of here quickly," Darius said impatiently.

One of the bodyguards that Julian ordered smiled at Darius who had just spoken. "Sorry, we can’t go because our job is to prevent him from approaching the place where our Miss is being treated."

Massimo’s eyes widened. "What do you mean?"

"Sorry Mr. Massimo, we are only carrying out orders and because this is a hospital you better understand and not make a fuss. So please leave this place," answered one of Julian’s bodyguards firmly.

"I’m Gina’s husband, how can you forbid me to see her, huh?" Massimo rebuked loudly, starting to get emotional.

"Husband? What kind of husband would torture his wife so cruelly?"

Suddenly from behind the bodyguards Julian’s voice was heard loudly responding to Massimo’s words, suddenly Massimo turned his gaze towards Julian who was walking past the line of bodyguards to the place where Massimo was standing with Patrick and Diego who was walking behind him.

"Julian..."

Bug...

Before Massimo had time to speak, Julian unexpectedly threw a punch at Massimo’s stomach with such force that Massimo staggered and almost fell backwards if Martin didn’t hold his body fast.

"You really are the worst human being, Massimo. You still have the guts to come to the hospital after being satisfied with torturing my daughter like that," Julian rebuked loudly.

"Mr. Sanders, everything can be discussed amicably. Don’t use violence, we are in the hospital," Martin said quietly trying to calm Julian who was already angry.

"Shut up," Julian snapped, pointing his index finger at Martin. "This is none of your business, so you just shut up!"

Massimo instructed Martin not to respond to Julian’s words with a wink that only the two of them understood. Martin nodded his head slowly in response to the code given by his master without daring to argue. With pain Massimo stood up straight and approached Julian again, but before he could reach Julian suddenly a raw punch from Diego landed on his face which again made him stagger to the side.

"You bastard, Massimo!!" Diego snapped with emotion.

"Patience, Diego. Don’t use violence," Patrick said spontaneously as he held Diego’s hand which he had just used to hit Massimo.

"People like him don’t deserve to be talked to, Uncle," Diego said, his voice rising two octaves.

Patrick tightened his grip on Diego’s struggling hand. "Remember what uncle said earlier, if you don’t want to obey, you better go home."

Diego’s resistance finally stopped when he heard Patrick’s words, with a deep breath Diego tried to calm down and didn’t try to attack Massimo who was currently being protected by his men.

"You’d better get out of here, Massimo. Your presence is not wanted in this place," Patrick said coldly to Massimo.

Massimo shook his head. "I’m Gina’s husband, I have a right to know her current condition."

"What, you want to know her condition? What do you think Gina’s condition is now after she tried to slash her arm twice, huh?"

"Slashed her hand twice?" Massimo repeated Patrick’s words in a high pitched voice, looking very surprised.

"Yes, my poor daughter tried to kill herself by slashing her hands twice. Are you satisfied with making her like that, Massimo?" rebuked Julian sharply, his voice trembling slightly with emotion.

Massimo’s expression changed, his lips trembled with his heart beating faster than before when he heard Julian’s words describing Gina’s suicide attempt. Cut her hand twice. Oh my God, how desperate was such a brave Georgina?

Massimo gulped. "I-I didn’t know that..."

"Of course you don’t know, you don’t know anything about Gina. All you know is that Gina is yours, to satisfy your lust, to be a place for you to vent your emotions until her body is battered like that. You don’t know anything about my daughter, Massimo. Even today, when she turns twenty you don’t even know, do you? Then how can you call yourself her husband, huh?!" Massimo said.

Massimo’s tongue was numb, all his voice caught in his throat. Massimo cursed his stupidity for forgetting Gina’s important day, the twentieth birthday that should be celebrated with great fanfare.

"Let go of my daughter, Massimo. Gina is not your match, she is still a teenager. Let Gina enjoy her life like any other girl," said Julian suddenly in a low voice not as violent as before. "Gina has suffered since she was in her mother’s womb because of my selfishness, Massimo. So I beg you to let her go, let Gina be happy."

"Gina my wife, how can I let her go?"

Greb...

Diego’s strong hands landed perfectly on Massimo’s collar.

"Don’t keep calling my sister your wife, bastard. An asshole like you doesn’t deserve to be her husband, Gina is too good for you," Diego said coldly right in front of Massimo’s face without any fear, Diego forgot for a moment who Massimo was. The figure holding the trump card.

"Diego."

"No Uncle, this man must be taught a lesson. He has tortured Gina until Gina finally darkened her eyes and chose to end her life like that, this man should be imprisoned for committing violence to his underage wife," Diego said loudly in response. Patrick called trying to calm him down.

"Gina is not a teenager, she is an adult and is allowed to marry by law in this country," said Massimo calmly in an indistinct voice because Diego was holding his neck still clutching his collar.

"To hell with the law in this country, which is clear you and Gina don’t deserve to be together. You are far above Gina’s age, you deserve to be called uncle by Gina rather than husband."

Massimo growled. "Watch your word, Diego!"

"Why is that? Isn’t what I said a fact?" challenge Diego hard.

"You..."

"That’s it Diego, don’t make things any longer," Patrick said softly patting Diego on the shoulder.

Diego shrugged his shoulders, trying to get rid of Patrick’s hand. "He must be taught a lesson, uncle."

Patrick shook his head. "No Diego, if we do that then how is it different from him who hurt Gina? Our level is still way above him."

Diego smirked at Patrick’s words. "Yes, uncle right," he said softly as he released his grip on Massimo’s neck. "We’re still far more dignified than this damn mafia."

Martin, who had been silent for a long time, couldn’t hold back his emotions anymore, with his fists clenched, Martin took a step forward trying to approach Diego, but Massimo, who was quick to read Martin’s emotions, immediately stretched his arms to stop Martin from doing his intention to hurt Diego.

"But sir..."

"Relax, Martin. This is a hospital," Massimo whispered quietly, interrupting Martin’s protest.

Without arguing, Martin lowered his ego to suppress the emotions that burned his chest.

"Go away, Massimo. Your presence is not wanted in this place, don’t force me to be rude to you again," said Julian flatly with a look full of hatred at Massimo. "For that land matter I won’t ask again, take everything that belongs to your family."

"Are you serious about what you say, Julian?" growled Massimo hoarsely.

"I’m very serious, for Gina’s sake I’m willing to lose those lands," answered Julian firmly.

Massimo was silent, his thoughts muddled. The method he had used to suppress Julian Sanders had actually become a boomerang for him at this time. No, those lands are not worth Gina’s. Massimo said in his heart that he regretted Julian’s decision to just give up his family’s property.

"I don’t want those cheap lands," said Massimo in a low, emphatic tone. "And I also will not let Gina go, Gina is my wife. Our marriage is legal in law and religion. Wasn’t that time you yourself brought Gina to me at the altar?"

Julian shook his head, his plans to give up his family’s estates to Massimo were in vain. Massimo didn’t want the land, Massimo preferred Gina. Not wanting to lose, Julian suddenly grabbed Massimo’s hand and led him to walk to the room where Gina was being treated.

Brigitta who was still standing in front of the mirror gave a small scream when she saw Julian coming with Massimo, she was too shocked to see the person who had made Gina lie brought over by Julian who looked very calm. Realizing that Julian and Massimo were walking towards where they were, Brigitta deftly stepped out of the way of the see-through glass giving Julian and Massimo her place.

"Take a good look at Gina, aren’t you satisfied with seeing her like that yet?" said Julian coldly to Massimo when they arrived in front of the mirror which showed Gina’s condition which was still unconscious after the surgery on her hand.

Massimo’s chest felt tight seeing Gina lying helplessly on the hospital bed with needles being pricked in various places, not to mention the oxygen tube which made her look even more pathetic.

"My love," Massimo croaked softly with his hands on the glass, calling to Gina who of course couldn’t hear her voice.

"Prove to me that you really love her," said Julian again.

Massimo immediately turned to Julian. "What do I have to prove to you, Julian?" asked Massimo excitedly.

"Please, leave my daughter."
