Chapter 308: Last chance

Knowing the fact that all of Massimo’s work is related to the survival of the thousands of humans who depend on his fate, Gina finally makes peace with herself. Gina decides to accept Massimo and his world, it would be very selfish for Gina to force Massimo to leave his business.

"Martin."

Martin, who was standing behind Massimo immediately turned to Gina. "Yes, madam."

"Is Massimo still long?" asked Gina in a low, half-whispered voice. "I’m bored."

Martin smiled. "You can wait in the master’s room if you are bored, madam."

"No, I don’t want to wait in that room alone," Gina answered quickly.

"If you want, I can ask Lupita to..."

"No, Thanks." Gina quickly refused without a second thought.

Lazy to argue again, Gina decided to return to her seat, waiting for Massimo to finish speaking with some of the RedDevil management staff who were being gathered in the hall. The murder incident that occurred at RedFox became Massimo’s main concern this time, he hoped that the same thing would not happen again in RedDevil or anywhere else.

After waiting patiently for almost thirty minutes Massimo finally finished speaking, Massimo didn’t look tired at all despite talking non-stop for nearly forty-five minutes. His physical strength was truly astonishing.

"After this you have a schedule for a meeting with Lupita and the girl, sir," Martin said politely as he approached Massimo.

"Lupita and the girls?"

"That’s right, sir. They’re already in the next room right now," replied Martin politely.

Massimo nodded slowly, his gaze fixed on Gina who was playing with her cell phone on the sofa. Gina looks very serious with her cellphone, even though he knows what Gina is doing with her cellphone, but Massimo still feels curious to see Gina busy with her cellphone.

"Go first, I’ll talk to my wife first," said Massimo quietly.

Martin nodded his head without speaking, seconds after the bespectacled man excused himself from Massimo to go to the room where Lupita and the girls who worked at RedDevil were. Being Massimo’s confidant makes Martin have to be alert and punctual, Martin knows Massimo can’t work alone to manage all his business empire.

The girls who previously expected Massimo’s arrival had to be satisfied when they saw Martin standing in front of them, even though Martin had perfect physique and good looks, the charm of a Massimo was still too big for him to fight. Because of that, the girls who had been competing to give their best performance this afternoon in front of Massimo were very disappointed to see Martin coming. The news about Massimo having a personal butler to warm his bed was what made the girls compete to make up as beautiful as possible to win the sympathy of Massimo del Cano. Likewise with Aime, her desire to surrender herself to Massimo is still passionate even though Massimo has been dishonorably kicked out of his house. The splendor in the castle that Aime saw at that time had already made her shyness go away, after all, since plunging into the nightlife, Aime no longer had any shame.

Before Martin could open his mouth, suddenly Massimo appeared from behind with a straight face as usual. Seeing Massimo enter, all the girls in the room shouted loudly at the same time. They chanted Massimo’s name in turn and it took a long time to calm the girls down, not knowing Massimo already had a wife made the girls very excited to meet Massimo this afternoon. Lupita didn’t tell the girls about Massimo’s marriage on direct instructions from Martin.

The commotion only stopped when Massimo raised his hands in the air, only a second later did Massimo begin to speak and explain why he had gathered them all together. As long as Massimo spoke none of the girls took their eyes off Massimo, the girls were very serious about what Massimo said word for word. While discussing what happened to RedFox, Massimo accidentally saw a group of his men who were escorting Gina to the beach, Massimo felt guilty at this time for asking Gina to play on the beach alone. Leaving the little girl who really likes the beach to laugh alone. Damn it, imagining that Massimo’s chest felt tight.

***

Arriving at the beach, Gina’s mood immediately improved. All the annoyance that had gripped her chest slowly disappeared, the sea and clean air was the perfect combination that Gina needed right now. Kneeling slightly, Gina removed the gladiator sandals that were attached to her feet. After freeing her legs from the pedestal that protected her, Gina then ran on the beach to welcome the incoming waves.

"Don’t go too far, madam," Darius said softly, warning Gina.

Gina, who was carrying a stick, turned to Darius. "I know."

"The beach is full of people, madam."

"Look for yourself, there are only a few people around us. Don’t worry, I’m not a child who will be lost just because of playing with some strangers," said Gina quickly.

"But, madam..."

Gina laughed out loud, leaving Darius for the other side of the bustling beach. Gina wants to prove her words to Darius that he will be fine. Seeing the madam running towards a quite crowded place, Darius took action. With six other people, Darius ran after Gina quickly so as not to miss the trail.

Realizing that she was being chased, Gina accelerated her pace even more without paying attention to her surroundings. What is on Gina’s mind right now is wanting to be a little free to enjoy her time at the beach without having to be closely monitored. Because she kept focused on avoiding the pursuit of Darius and the others, Gina accidentally fell into someone’s arms when she tripped over a bucket embedded in the sand. Gina almost fell on the sand if nothing held her back.

When about to thank the person who helped her, Gina opened her mouth wide in surprise after recognizing the figure of the man who helped her. The man who has helped Gina is Lucas Dom, a man who has confessed his love for her several times. Not seeing Lucas for a few months almost sent Gina out of control, Gina almost hugged him if she didn’t remember her last meeting with Lucas a while ago when she emphatically asked him to stay away from her while at RedFox.

"Georgina," Lucas called hoarsely.

Gina spontaneously removed her hand from Lucas’ body. "Sorry I didn’t mean it."

Realizing Gina was trying to keep her distance, Lucas’ big hands immediately grabbed Gina tightly.

"Luke..."

"I miss you, Gina," Lucas said quickly, interrupting Gina’s words.

Gina shook her head. "I’m sorry, Luke."

"Don’t you miss me?"

"No I don’t."

"Gina, look at me and answer with your heart. I’m really sincere to you, Gina. I really love you without frills or threats, I’m very serious about you, Gina," Lucas said in a trembling voice.

"I’m married, Luke."

"Fuck, no! You were never married to Massimo, didn’t I tell you so many times back then."

Gina swallowed her saliva. "Massimo said our marriage was legal in the eyes of religion and state, he said the priest who married us was really a..."

"If you are married then show me your marriage certificate, Gina. After I saw it with my own eyes then I will believe that You’re married," Lucas said, quickly cutting Gina off.

Gina’s face couldn’t answer the question Lucas asked. After all, she and Massimo had never gone to the civil registry office to register their marriage. Realizing Gina couldn’t show what she wanted, Lucas surprisingly landed a peck on Gina’s lips.

Slap..

Gina gave Lucas a hard slap on the cheek.

"You’re such a jerk, Luke!"

Lucas didn’t move, his eyes were still staring at Gina who was cleaning her lips with the back of her left hand.

"Massimo del Cano was never serious about you, Gina. He only took advantage of you, once he gets tired of you he will dump you just like he did with other women in his life," Lucas said firmly.

Gina shook her head. "No, Massimo wouldn’t do that. I trust him."

"Really? If he trusted you then why did he block all your access to socializing with other people? If it wasn’t for wanting to keep you stuck with him forever, he must have bigger plans with you, Gina."

"Massimo didn’t limit my friendship, he even allowed me to continue my studies," Gina said quickly, defending Massimo.

Lucas smiled and pointed his phone at Gina. "Is it true that he doesn’t limit your association? Then can you explain this to me, Gina?"

"W-what do you mean?" asked Gina, confused.

"See for yourself, then you’ll understand where I’m going," Lucas replied calmly with confidence, keeping an eye on Massimo’s castle for weeks making Lucas sure that his attempts to get Gina to leave Massimo would succeed.

Slightly hesitant, Gina grabbed Lucas’ phone from her hand. At first seeing Lucas’s dark cell phone screen confused Gina, then after Lucas pressed the play button on his cell phone the video he took a few weeks ago finally played.

Gina bit her lower lip hard when she saw the video Lucas was showing, it was clear in the video that Massimo was talking with his hands pointing at Brandon and Francia at the same time. Meanwhile, Bela was standing behind Francia with her face down.

"No, this is impossible," Gina said quietly.

"If you still don’t believe me please meet me where we went first, Gina. Looks like you’ll have to hear everything firsthand from another person who is a victim of that monster’s selfishness."

Gina looked up at Lucas with misty eyes. "Anyone else?"

Lucas nodded quickly, realizing that Massimo’s men were approaching. Lucas finally decided to leave Gina alone.

"If I can’t get Gina, then you won’t be able to get her either, Massimo," Lucas said quietly as he walked away from Gina who was being approached by Darius and Massimo’s other men.

Lucas decided to use his last resort to separate Gina from Massimo by mentally attacking Gina, considering that Gina came from a good family made Lucas feel his way this time would definitely work. Lucas decided to take advantage of Gina’s gentleness after failing to use other means many times. His obsession with Gina has become too big to make Lucas unable to accept everything, let alone accept the defeat of Massimo del Cano, the rival who for years has always tested his patience.
