His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 178: Clearly It’s Kate Lynch Who Can’t Stand Her
"Kiana! I came home to hear your explanation, not your stories!"
Ethan Sinclair was so furious he felt like his lungs might explode. She never imagined Kiana Sutton could say something so outrageous and clumsy.
Kiana Sutton’s emotions were also becoming agitated, and in her anger, her hand shook as she gestured.
"I’m not making up stories; everything I said is true!"
"True? Fine, then tell me, why would Kate, whom you barely know, want to frame your father?"
Kiana Sutton’s face turned pale as paper; this was something she could not fathom no matter how much she thought about it.
She had pondered for years about Kate Lynch’s motive for framing her father, and since she couldn’t figure it out, she naturally couldn’t answer Ethan Sinclair’s question.
Seeing Kiana Sutton with her head down, clenching her fists in anger, Ethan lifted her chin so that she had to look at him.
"Ethan Sinclair kidnapping Kate and nearly causing her death is a confirmed fact. For years, you’ve been insisting that Gordon Sutton is innocent. What on earth makes you trust him so much? Just because he’s your father?"
Not only that, Kiana Sutton also believed in her father’s character.
But now she had no evidence, and even if she told Ethan Sinclair, he wouldn’t believe her, which would only add to her worries.
"You know very well that Kate has no reason to frame your father, yet you still hold a grudge against her. Today’s incident was obviously her suffering, and she’s gracious enough not to care. Stella just asked you to apologize, and it would be over, but you stubbornly refuse to repent!"
Facing Kiana Sutton’s eyes, filled with tears and grievance, Ethan Sinclair’s breath caught, feeling a pang of unwillingness.
"Grandma always said you were obedient, gentle, and kind, so why can’t you accept Kate?"
Kiana Sutton laughed coldly in her heart, was it truly that she couldn’t accept Kate Lynch?
Clearly, it was Kate Lynch who couldn’t accept her!
"I’m asking you, weren’t you a good swimmer? Why didn’t you jump in to save Kate immediately after she fell in the water? What were you thinking when you saw her struggling and calling for help?"
Upon hearing this, Kiana Sutton’s face turned uglier; a trace of panic and guilt flashed in her eyes.
She wanted to lower her head, but with Ethan Sinclair gripping her chin, she couldn’t move.
Seeing her like this, the chill in Ethan Sinclair’s eyes grew more intense, "Speak!"
The moment Kate Lynch fell into the water, Kiana Sutton was initially stunned. For a brief moment, she genuinely wished Kate Lynch would just die like that.
Once she came to her senses, she was startled by her own thoughts, and by that time, someone had already jumped in to save Kate Lynch.
She was very scared; she didn’t understand why she had such thoughts in her mind.
Seeing Ethan Sinclair’s terrifying, fierce face, she didn’t dare to tell him the truth and, with trembling fingers, she gestured, "Whether you believe it or not, she really jumped in by herself. I didn’t push her, so I didn’t react then."
Ethan Sinclair was enraged, angrily breaking away from Kiana Sutton, "I didn’t expect at this time you’d still be lying. Kiana Sutton, I’m truly disappointed in you!"
Kiana Sutton lowered her head without responding, disappointed?
When had he ever had any expectations of her?
No expectations, so how could there be disappointment!
"Kate is gracious, but an error is still an error. Since you refuse to apologize in front of so many people, then write ’I’m sorry’ a thousand times and give it to me. If there’s even one less, don’t think about leaving this room!"
After saying this, Ethan Sinclair stormed out of Kiana Sutton’s bedroom and slammed the door heavily.
Chelsea Chapman noticed Ethan Sinclair’s cold expression upon his return, worried he had bullied Kiana Sutton, so she kept an eye on Kiana Sutton’s room.
Seeing Ethan Sinclair come out, she immediately smiled at him, "Young Master, should I prepare supper?" 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"No need! Keep a good eye on Kiana Sutton. If she hasn’t finished writing ’I’m sorry’ a thousand times, don’t bring her any food or drink, and don’t let her out."
Noticing the situation was off, Chelsea Chapman quickly said, "But tomorrow is Monday, and the Young Madam has work."
Met with Ethan Sinclair’s icy stare, Chelsea Chapman dared not say more and quickly nodded, "Understood."
That night, Ethan Sinclair didn’t stay at The Montpellier Estates.
Though Chelsea Chapman feared Ethan Sinclair, she wouldn’t follow his orders while he was away.
Early the next morning, seeing Kiana Sutton hadn’t come down for breakfast, Chelsea Chapman specially made her favorite seasoned vegetable buns and millet porridge and brought them to her room.
"Knock, knock, knock..."
Chelsea Chapman gently knocked on the door, "Young Madam, I’m coming in."
When she pushed open the door, Kiana Sutton was still in her pajamas from the day before, writing at the table.
Chelsea Chapman quietly breathed a sigh of relief; as long as the Young Madam finished writing ’I’m sorry’ a thousand times, the Young Master’s anger would subside.
As Chelsea Chapman placed the porridge on the table she smiled at Kiana Sutton, "Young Madam, The Fifth Master was just speaking; why take it so seriously? Come have breakfast, and write afterward. We girls don’t stoop to the level of smelly men."
Kiana Sutton didn’t move, and Chelsea Chapman eagerly ran over, "How many times have you written? Ah... this..."
Seeing the table full of "I’m not wrong," Chelsea Chapman was suddenly speechless.
The Young Madam rarely contradicted the Young Master, and she didn’t know what had happened, but seeing the Master’s anger yesterday, it seemed like no small matter.
She initially thought the Young Madam would obediently write "I’m sorry," but it turned out she wrote "I’m not wrong."
"Heh heh... Young Madam, perhaps we should eat something first!"
Kiana Sutton shook her head, looked at Chelsea Chapman, put down her pen, gestured, "Take it away, I’m not eating."
For Kiana Sutton, if she had done something wrong, she would certainly apologize.
But for something she hadn’t done, she wouldn’t admit fault even if it killed her.
Perhaps it was a sleepless night, as Kiana Sutton’s face was devoid of any color. Chelsea Chapman was heartbroken watching her, seeing her pick up the pen again to write "I’m not wrong." Chelsea Chapman was at a loss.
Oh no, when the Master returns tonight, seeing all these words, who knows how furious he will be.
"Young Madam, why put yourself through this?"
Kiana Sutton didn’t respond to Chelsea Chapman.
Not knowing what to do, Chelsea Chapman said, "I’ll leave the breakfast here, remember to eat, don’t starve yourself; if neither of us speaks a word of it, the Young Master won’t know if you’ve eaten or not."
At noon, when Chelsea Chapman brought in lunch, she found that Kiana Sutton hadn’t eaten breakfast at all and was still stubbornly writing "I’m not wrong."
Chelsea Chapman sighed and debated whether to inform the mistress.
Then she thought, the cracks between the Young Master and the Young Madam were already quite deep. If the mistress were to intervene, the Young Master would surely think the Young Madam was using the mistress to pressure him, which might lead to even more dislike.
At around eight in the evening, Ethan Sinclair returned, looking travel-worn.
When Chelsea Chapman saw him, she quickly came to greet him, taking Ethan Sinclair’s coat and laughing awkwardly, "Young Master... are you in a good mood today?"
Ethan Sinclair’s sharp, deep eyes glanced lightly at Chelsea Chapman, giving her an instant feeling of being seen through.
"Where is Kiana?"
"...The Young Madam is still in her room."
