Chapter 118: Chapter 118: Like a Family of Three

Unless...

Unless what?

Ethan Sinclair hadn’t finished his sentence when he saw the pearl-like tears in Kiana Sutton’s eyes.

Those tears falling one by one, combined with the sadness and despair in her eyes, burned Ethan’s heart.

The stronger his feelings for Kiana became, the more agitated and close to collapse he felt.

All the facts told him the person he loved was Kate Lynch, and he always believed that himself, so why?

Every time he saw Kiana show that expression, his heart felt like it was being torn apart.

Not wanting to see her eyes anymore, Ethan took off his tie to cover her eyes, tossed her onto the bed, and started another round of venting.

For a moment, Kiana genuinely thought she was about to die.

Her waist hurt, her neck hurt, every part of her was in pain, but none of it compared to the ache in her heart.

Was all that previous tenderness really fake?

The whole night, Kiana didn’t even know when she passed out.

When she woke again, it was already noon the next day, and Ethan Sinclair was long gone.

Her whole body ached, covered in bruises, and having already missed the early shift, Kiana simply took the whole day off.

Anyway, she didn’t really have anything to do at the company, and tomorrow was the weekend, so she might as well take a three-day break.

That evening, Kiana received a WeChat message from Joy Morgan.

"Kiana, how are you doing lately?"

"I’m okay. How about you?"

"Aside from being broke, everything’s fine. Oh right, tomorrow’s Willow’s birthday. Let’s celebrate together."

Kiana had been so swamped lately she had truly forgotten Willow’s birthday. "Sure! Is there anything Willow wants?"

"Hey, the kid’s recently got a crush on some celebrity, really wants an autographed photo. But he’s Ethan Sinclair’s good buddy, so he probably isn’t much of a good guy."

Ethan’s good buddy?

"Who?"

"Julian Garrison!"

Kiana wasn’t familiar with Julian, but Quinn definitely knew him. Besides, it’s just a signature—Julian shouldn’t mind.

Kiana immediately sent Quinn a message. After understanding what was going on, Quinn replied to Kiana, "That’s easy! Keith’s filming in Orchid Hills right now. I’ll let him know, you take the kid to visit the set. Meeting her idol in person is better than a signature, right?"

"Is that really okay?"

"Leave it to me."

Soon, Quinn messaged back, "I’ve already given Keith a heads-up. I’ll give you his WeChat, add him and you guys can coordinate. Ugh, I’m busy with my thesis presentation. Otherwise, I’d go with you."

"Focus on your thesis. I’ll take Willow myself."

"Deal."

Early Saturday morning, Kiana put on makeup to hide her exhaustion.

After meeting up with Joy and Willow, just as the three of them were about to head to Orchid Hills, Joy’s phone rang.

After the call, Joy looked pissed off.

Kiana made a worried gesture. "What’s wrong? Did something happen?"

"I’ve got some petty person on my case, always stabbing me in the back lately."

Joy squeezed Kiana’s hand. "My Kiana, I’m counting on you to look after Willow again today. Let’s have dinner together and blow out candles later."

Kiana knew it wasn’t easy for Joy supporting her family, so she took Willow to Orchid Hills on her own.

The two arrived at the filming base, and Julian Garrison sent someone to bring them in.

It was Kiana’s first time visiting a set. Seeing all those familiar faces, she felt a bit nervous.

Willow, on the other hand, looked thrilled and excited, finding everything new and amazing.

"Miss Sutton, Young Master Garrison is waiting for you over there."

Kiana nodded and took Willow with her, following the assistant to the lounge.

There she saw Julian Garrison in a bright red period costume.

Julian truly lived up to being the dream man of countless women, young and old—impeccable looks, tall, and lean.

In costume, he was like a young general—dashing and charismatic to the extreme.

As soon as he saw Kiana, he smiled and walked over to them.

Kiana’s palm was suddenly pinched. She looked down to see Willow gazing starstruck. "Kiana, I’m not dreaming, right? I’m really seeing him in person?"

"Hi, you two beauties—one big, one small! Nice to meet you." Julian waved at them.

Willow, who’d been excited a moment ago, suddenly grew shy and hid behind Kiana when her idol approached.

Not wanting to struggle with communication, Kiana had prepared some cards with notes written on them ahead of time. She took the first card from her bag and handed it to Julian.

"Hi, I’m Kiana Sutton, and the kid next to me is Willow. She’s a huge fan of yours. May I take a photo of you two, and get an autograph?"

Kiana’s handwriting was beautiful. Julian raised his eyebrow, his lips curving into a smile. "So formal, huh? You don’t remember me?"

Kiana paused. She knew Julian was Ethan’s good friend, but they’d never met before, right?

"Last time, you fainted when a cat scared you. I caught you, so you didn’t fall."

The mention of a cat made Kiana’s face darken a little.

That day, seeing the cat had totally messed her up.

And Ethan, wildly jealous, almost took a swing at Julian. Julian had left before Kiana woke, so she never actually saw him.

Kiana composed herself and nodded quickly, making a sign gesture as well.

Willow, blushing, translated from the side, "Kiana says thank you."

Julian smiled at Willow, who was cute as a button, and reached out to pat her head. "Willow is such a good girl."

"I really like you! Especially your song ’Falling.’ I listen to it every night before bed."

"Do you know how to sing it?"

"Of course!"

Willow immediately broke into a heartfelt performance. The more Kiana listened, the more confused she felt. Was this really the tune?

Why... did it sound so bad?

But when Willow finished, Julian was so excited he picked her up. "Wow, Willow! You’re incredible, that was beautiful—better than my own version."

Kiana: "..."

Kiana thought Julian was just saying it to spare Willow’s feelings, but later, after listening herself, she realized Julian’s singing really was a disaster.

He wasn’t lying—Willow’s version truly sounded better than his.

No wonder Quinn had warned her beforehand, telling her to run for it if Julian ever started singing!

At that moment, Kiana finally understood; Willow was really Julian’s true superfan.

Julian and Willow clicked immediately and agreed to take pictures. Kiana took out her phone to snap a few shots of them.

"Miss Sutton, let’s take a photo of the three of us together!"

Kiana hesitated, about to sign, but Julian smiled, "Come on, just a photo. Is it that hard? Or do you just not like me?"

"I want a photo with Kiana too."

Both of them were looking at her expectantly. Kiana thought, well, since we’re here, I have to let Willow be happy.

So, the three of them posed together. Julian used his phone to take the picture, and while Kiana wasn’t looking, Willow sent it to Ethan Sinclair...

"Do we look like a family of three?"
