"Let's go, Illya!"

Raising her hand toward the sky, directing the trajectory of the stars, Hoshino activated an effect targeting Jaden's Set card.

"When Prisma Illya is successfully Special Summoned, all of the opponent's Set Spells and Traps are destroyed!"

"I won't let you destroy it that easily, Sensei!"

Flipping over the Set card targeted by Illya, Jaden quickly chained his Quick-Play Spell.

"—Quick-Play Spell: Flash Fusion! I fuse my Masked HERO Acid and Elemental HERO Shadow Mist on the field!"

The fusion of Masked and Elemental HEROes whipped up a blizzard of piercing icicles on Jaden's field.

"Awaken the frost storm of absolute zero—freeze the earth! I Fusion Summon in Defense Position—Elemental HERO Absolute Zero!"

Donning a white flowing cape, Absolute Zero broke through the ice and formed a blizzard barrier to defend the battlefield.

With two attacking HERO monsters sent to the Graveyard as Fusion Materials and Absolute Zero on the field, all three of Jaden's HERO monsters now stood in Defense Position.

"Feeling scared now? Even if your heroes are in Defense Position, you can't stop Prisma Illya's attack this turn!"

"No holding back—take them all down, Illya!"

Illya raised her arms in an attacking stance. Her radiant, rainbow-colored wings lit up the sky, gathering all the magical energy within her circuits.

"—This is everything I've got!! Saturation Barrage!!!"

The starlit brilliance surged like a tidal wave from Illya's hands, engulfing and obliterating all of Jaden's HERO monsters on the field.

"This final blast is my graduation gift to you, Jaden. And with that, I'll be taking the win for this duel."

With an empty field, no Set cards, and Chloe and Artoria Lily·Illya still yet to attack, from Hoshino's perspective the outcome was all but decided.

But Jaden grinned and said, "That attack really was incredible, Sensei. But I don't want such an exciting duel to end just yet. So take a look at the field now!"

As the starlight faded, what remained on both sides of the field was an awe-inspiring frozen wasteland—everything, including Hoshino's Chloe and Lily·Illya, was caught in the ice.

Only the still-hovering Prisma Illya, who had launched the attack, remained unaffected.

"This is the effect of Elemental HERO Absolute Zero—when it leaves the field, destroy all monsters your opponent controls!"

Due to Absolute Zero's effect, every monster on Hoshino's field, except for the unaffected Prisma Illya, was wiped out in an instant.

"Now you've got no monsters left to keep attacking with! I survived your assault this turn! Plus, I can activate the effect of the destroyed Shadow Mist!"

By swapping the Chloe cards between zones, Hoshino was setting up for Prisma Illya's End Phase effect.

Since Chloe was banished as Fusion Material and then left the banished zone due to her own effect (which can be activated once per turn when banished), she was no longer in the banished zone by the End Phase.

Had Hoshino failed to recover the full set of Fusion Materials by then, the special summoning effect would not have triggered, leaving her with an empty field—something she was clearly trying to avoid.

"Finally, I activate my Set Continuous Spell—Phantasm Summoning Install—then I Set one more card and end my turn!"

At the moment Hoshino ended her turn, Prisma Illya, still floating in the sky, was covered in golden light. She then split into two, re-summoning Cú Chulainn Illya and Chloe—the Fusion Materials used this turn—from the banished zone.

Hoshino raised a curious brow. "Neo-Spacian…?"

"That's right, it's the power of Neo-Spacians! I send Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab from my hand and Neo-Spacian Glow Moss from my deck to the Graveyard! I draw 1 card from my deck—and since you have 2 monsters on your field, I get to draw 2 more!"

After replenishing his hand with three cards, Jaden slammed the monster he had searched last turn onto his Duel Disk.

"I Normal Summon Elemental HERO Bubbleman in Attack Position and activate its effect!"

The low-ATK Bubbleman materialized on the field. Though his presence was modest compared to Hoshino's lineup, Jaden had fully replenished his hand through card effects—giving him a massive hand advantage.

"Next, I discard Evil HERO Adusted Gold from my hand to activate its effect, letting me search a card with 'Dark Fusion' in its name from my deck."

After Elemental HEROes and Masked HEROes, even the Evil HEROes made their appearance. Hoshino was starting to wonder just how many varieties of HEROes Jaden still had hidden up his sleeve.

Yubel: "Go, Jaden. Show them our power!"

Jaden completed his search and activated the card without hesitation.

"Spell Card—Dark Calling, activate!"

[Remove the Fusion Material monsters listed on an "Evil HERO" Fusion Monster from your hand or Graveyard from play. Special Summon the Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon using "Dark Fusion."]

Darkness flooded Jaden's side of the field, melting away the icy tundra left by Absolute Zero. The heavy, ominous atmosphere was nothing like the righteous aura HEROes were known for—this was the embodiment of pure evil.

The overwhelming presence of Malicious Bane struck the field—a hulking, dark HERO radiating oppressive power unlike anything Jaden had summoned before.

As his Fusion monster took the stage, Jaden's heterochromatic eyes glowed once more.

"Even when I'm surrounded by darkness, I can still harness the power of a Supreme King! Sensei, here comes my strongest Evil HERO—Malicious Bane's effect activates!"

A massive black energy sphere condensed in Malicious Bane's hand—its destructive aura threatened to obliterate Hoshino's entire field.

"Malicious Bane has 3000 ATK. Your Illya and Chloe only have 2000 each! So they're both destroyed by the effect!"

Hoshino's lips curled into a small smile.

"So this is your strongest HERO… Tell me, Jaden, have you ever played Jungle Chess?"(Board game)

"Jungle Chess?"

"In that game, a lion can beat a tiger, an elephant can beat a lion—but the weakest piece, a rat, can defeat the strongest piece—the elephant~"

"Uhh… what do you mean by that?" Jaden scratched his head, clearly confused by the metaphor.

With a flick of her fingers, Hoshino picked up two Chloe cards—one from her field, the other from her Graveyard.

"It means I'm about to use the weakest evil… to completely lock down your strongest HERO! I activate the special effect of Chloe von Einzbern on my field!"

A dark aura manifested Angra Mainyu onto Hoshino's field. Compared to Jaden's powerful and oppressive Evil HERO, this new presence seemed laughably weak. And yet, Hoshino's eyes gleamed with unwavering confidence.
