Hero Hack: Reversing Heroes and Raising Harem-Chapter 85: Fashionable Lies
Chapter 85: Fashionable Lies
The wolfman grabbed the briefcase with one claw, testing its weight.
His gaze lingered on Velra as he shifted it under his arm.
"By the way... what happened to the professor?"
Velra’s expression darkened.
"He tried to inject me too."
The wolfman raised an eyebrow.
"Seriously?"
She nodded.
"Got real close."
"Pulled out another syringe when Impakto was already mutating."
"Tried to stab it into my neck."
The wolfman frowned.
"What happened?"
"I was faster." Velra’s voice stayed flat.
"Kicked his wrist. The syringe flew back and nailed him in the thigh."
"He panicked and started screaming."
"Some of the passengers, heroes and guards tried to catch him."
"Guess he was too important to kill."
The wolfman chuckled, tail twitching.
"He got done in by his own experiment. That’s rich."
She crossed her arms.
"That gave me the opening."
"While they were focused on containing the mutated professor, I slipped out with the case."
The wolfman leaned in.
"Where is he now?"
Velra gestured her hand toward BD-4.
"Last I saw, they tossed him out near BD-4. He was rampaging."
"His body was warping too fast."
"He looked more like a crawling tumor than a man."
The wolfman burst out laughing, his fangs gleaming.
"Marvelous. Absolutely marvelous!"
"That bastard was always full of himself."
He patted the case.
"And now his legacy’s right here. Better in our hands."
Velra didn’t say anything. She just watched him.
He tilted his head.
"You’ve done more than expected, Razorwaltz. Much more."
She blinked.
"I think you deserve a little more for this."
He grinned.
"For the briefcase, for the chaos, and for handing me great news."
He reached into his coat, pulling out a slim silver chip.
"Encrypted core. Triple the normal payment."
Velra took it without flinching. "I’ll take it."
The wolfman smiled. "You’ve earned it."
Velra slipped the chip into a hidden pocket.
"By the way... are you planning to kill the professor in BD-4?"
The wolfman paused, genuinely caught off guard.
"Hmm? Why would you ask that?"
She stared at him steadily.
"Because if he survives..."
"If some other genius captures and stabilizes him..."
"He might use that mutation as data."
He squinted. "Go on."
"From what I saw, he was already regenerating faster than expected."
"If they lock him up, feed him, and test him, he’ll only improve his work."
She pointed at the briefcase.
"And that thing you’re carrying? Might become outdated in a week."
The wolfman grinned slowly, baring his fangs.
"You really are sharp."
"Always have been."
"Yeah," he said with a nod.
"We’re going to kill him. That mutation is a threat."
"Especially if some genius decides to reverse-engineer it."
Velra tilted her head. "You need backup?"
He raised his eyebrow. "You interested?"
She raised her hand lazily and waved him off.
"Nope. I’ve had enough chaos for today."
"Got triple the reward, all mine. I’m spending tonight in silence."
The wolfman laughed. "Fair enough."
He turned toward the broken door.
"Then I’ll leave you to your peace."
"Razorwaltz, hope you get stronger. You’ve got potential."
Velra smirked.
"Of course I do. Hope you don’t get mauled by your own target."
The wolfman chuckled, stepping out into the night.
"Thanks for the reminder."
Velra watched him go, her eyes narrowed slightly.
Once his footsteps faded, she leaned back against the cracked wall and exhaled slowly.
"What a stupid beast."
She glanced at the briefcase’s old resting spot and smirked.
"That professor wasn’t mutated by his own mutagen."
"That thing in him... it wasn’t his creation."
Her fingers brushed lightly over the collar at her neck.
"It came from him," she whispered.
"My master."
Her voice dropped further, her smile growing.
"So even if they capture him, contain him, feed him, and analyze him."
"There’s no reversing it. No cure."
"Because what’s inside that man now... isn’t mere science."
She laughed under her breath, just once.
"Idiots. Let them chase him."
Then she pushed herself off the wall, stretching both arms upward with a yawn.
"Alright... Mission done, bonus earned. Time to enjoy myself."
She glanced down at her torn, borrowed clothes and wrinkled her nose.
"Ugh. This outfit is a mess."
Her grin returned.
"Guess I’ll head back and buy some new ones."
Then she chuckled to herself, walking off through the ruins.
"Maybe something tight. Maybe something sexy... hehehe."
---
Zain lay on his bed, one arm behind his head.
The cabin was quiet.
Savra and Zelia were already fast asleep on the other side of the room.
He sighed. "Boring."
He then tried to check his link with Velra.
The Flesh Brand.
His mind brushed against Velra’s presence.
Distant, but unmistakable.
He couldn’t see her, but he could feel her.
"Hmm... Roughly nine hundred meters away."
His eyes were still half-lidded.
"Southeast from here."
Her emotions pulsed faintly through the bond.
Confident. Pleased. Satisfied.
Zain smirked.
"She must have finished the mission."
He closed his eyes for a moment.
She should have gotten the full reward thanks to Impakto’s death.
He thought for a second longer.
"Let’s test something..."
He focused his intent through the link.
Channeling just enough will to send a suggestion.
Velra... buy something bold.
Something sexy. frёewebηovel.cѳm
Something I’ll enjoy seeing you in.
You earned it, didn’t you?
A moment passed.
Then, on the other end.
He felt a twitch in the link.
A surge of excitement.
Something shifted.
In the far-off ruins of BD-3, Velra’s thoughts bubbled up.
Clothes... yes. I need something better.
Something tighter. Sexier. For master... hehe.
Zain opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling, grinning.
"Oh. It worked."
The bond didn’t let him control her entirely.
But subtle suggestions? Emotional nudges?
Those worked just fine.
"Good girl."
He rolled onto his side, letting the warmth of the success settle in.
"She doesn’t even realize I’m guiding her half the time."
Satisfied, he let his eyes close fully.
"Now that I know it works... let’s get some sleep."
And with that, Zain drifted off, the brand pulsing faintly between master and slave.
