Her Dark Desires-Chapter 94: How It Feels To Be Use

Amber arrived at her father’s party in a colorful red gown and the heads that turn her way as she pass, put a smile on her face.

The press were already there and Amber felt like she was a movie star as they took pictures of her. It was as if they already knew she was the star of tonight event.

"Amber, you look beautiful." Sloane said as soon as she sighted her daughter.

"Mom." Amber called out and looked around, "I feel so nervous, what if the board of directors doesn’t like me?"

"That is why you have to prove yourself, and I will be here to ensure they love you."

Sloane words comforted Amber and brought a smile to her face.

"Go, greet your father and let him introduce you to his business associates." Sloane said and watch as Amber walked up to Henry with a smile.

"Dad." Amber called out as she approached her father who was talking to two other men.

The men glanced at Amber and one of them said, "I never knew you had such a beautiful daughter, Henry."

Henry chuckled and said, "This is my daughter, Amber Woods."

"Woods? Are you perhaps married to Nolan nephew because I know he doesn’t have any children." The other man asked.

Amber face flushed with embarrassment at the question. Should she say that she was not married to the cousin, but to the old pig himself? No, she couldn’t, that we damage her image before she even has a chance to build it.

"Actually, Amber is married to..."

"You are right. I am married to Nolan’s nephew." Amber said with a smile before her father could tell them the truth.

Henry looked at her and decided not to say anything.

"He must really be lucky to have you because rare beauties like you have now become hard to see in Rose hill city." The man who had asked about Amber marriage said, he glanced at Henry and asked, "I’m guessing she is your successor, right? Do not worry about anything, she already has my support."

The other man tapped the one that was talking and said in awe "Is that Zachary Sanders?"

Amber frowned and turn to where the man was looking and indeed it was Zach and walking by his side is Eliana. What is she doing here? Did dad invite her? But why?

Henry sighed and said, "Now that everyone here is, I guess is time I make the announcements."

The men nodded and Amber held her father arm and asked "Why is she here?"

"Eliana is also my daughter, or have you forgotten?" Henry replied coldly and removed Amber hand from him.

Eliana on the other hand look at her husband and said, "I know you are busy, and this party was not on your schedule at all but still, thank you for coming with me."

Zach smiled at her and said, "Today is an important day for you. Even though you don’t say it, I know how significant it is for you to finally be known as a legitimate child. It is my duty to always support you but remember the promise you made to me."

"I remember, and the fulfillment will soon be here." Of course, she remembered the promise she made to him. The promise of sending her father to jail, it had to be done, and it will be done.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I thank you all for honoring my invitation. Everyone present here has contributed greatly to the success of Solar technologies in one way or the other and even though this company is just a year old, it has climbed its way into becoming number one in the technology industry and has therefore become a million dollars company. I must say that I am proud of this, but time is a respecter of no man and no one knows tomorrow and that is why I will be naming my successor today."

Amber smiled and adjusted her gown, ready to walk on the stage as soon as her father calls her.

"Eliana Sanders. My legitimate daughter." Henry said.

The hall was quiet but despite that, Eliana still walked on the stage but as soon as Zach began clapping, the rest immediately clapped as well.

"Dad." Eliana called Henry emotionally and hugged him.

The clap of the crowd increased as they hugged, fueling Amber anger. How could he have chosen Eliana to be his successor, she was his daughter and Eliana is just an illegitimate child? Is that not how it has always been?

"I don’t know what to say, I feel so emotional at the moment. I never expected that my dad would trust me with his company because I know how many Solar technologies means to him and for me to be named his successor is just so heart-warming to me. Thank you, dad." Eliana said facing the crowd but when she looked at Henry, he could see a smile in her eyes. She was putting on a show and enjoying each process of it.

Is this how it feels to be use? Right from the beginning when she gave him the contract and allowed him to grow Solar technologies to this point, was it for him to just hand everything to her. Is this truly the real face of his daughter?

"Dad, is there something else you would like to say? I’m sure the people how wondering why you called me your legitimate daughter, especially when they all thought, I was adopted." Eliana spoke softly, so softly that one would think she feared addressing the issue.

A man stood beside Zach and gently asked, "She is putting on a show, isn’t she?"

Zach frowned at the question and turned to look at the person standing beside him "What is a detective doing at a business gathering?"

Leon scoffed and replied, "Aren’t most businessmen criminals? Your wife invited me anyway."

"She did?"

"Yeah. She said something fun was going to happen tonight, and she asked me if I wanted to watch and here I am, waiting for the fun part." Even as Leon spoke his gaze never left Eliana. He noticed the little smile on her lips as she urged her father to speak, and he knew he was right about her. Eliana was truly different from any woman he has ever met, he wondered if she was going to be the one to add some color to his life.
