"Zach? Why are you suddenly silent? What do I need to know."

Hearing the tone of his voice made her realize that whatever he wanted to tell her was related to Mason. She had never met him, and to be honest, she didn’t want to meet him either.

Zachary’s hesitation left him when he heard the firmness in her voice, and within seconds, Eliana heard two gunshots.

She knew it was done; she knew he was dead, but the knowledge of Mason’s death did not make her feel better. Instead, she felt empty.

"Did you find out the name of the person that asked him to do it?" Eliana finally asked after finding her voice.

"Yes."

Eliana’s eyes looked at her reflection in the mirror, and she was surprised to see how empty her eyes were; when did she become like this?

"Was it Amber?" She asked softly without removing her gaze from the mirror.

"Yes. If you want, I can also...."

"No. I will handle it. Thank you, Zach, for giving our baby justice, but let me be the one to handle things from here."

Zach kept quiet for a few seconds before he softly whispered "Ok, let’s do things your way then."

Amber anxiously stood in a corner, waiting for David Lennox to come out of her dad’s study. What could they be talking about? How long does it take to say we are accepting Amber as our daughter-in-law?
