Sloane sighed after Amber told her all that she knew and said, "So what if you know the truth? Everything I have ever done in this life has been for your benefit."

"So you killed your sister for my benefit? Wow, Mom, at least have the guts to accept your greed."

"If not for my sacrifice, then a good-for-nothing drunkard would have been your father!"

"And whose fault would that be? You were the one who decided to open your legs for that good-for-nothing drunkard while your sister was busy getting married to a rich man."

"How could you say that to me?"

"Now that I think about it, everything has been your fault."

"What?"

"If you wanted to become Sloane and make me Theoore family real daughter, then you should have just killed Eliana from birth. If you had taken care of her just the way you did her mother, then none of us would be having this problem. I would have been Zachary’s wife and not her, and we would have continued to live our life in bliss. If you couldn’t even do something well, then why did you ever bother?"

"Amber!" Sloane shouted as she gave Amber a hard slap.

Amber softly touched her bruised cheek and said, "Hurt me all you want, but you know it’s true. You said you did it all for my benefit; if you truly you did it all for me, then you have to turn yourself in."

"What nonsense are you saying?"

"The police are onto us. The video of us throwing Nolan’s body into the river has gone viral, but Mom, if you take the blame for everything, then I will free you, and then just like before, I can get you out of prison."

"How can you even say that to me right now, especially knowing that I killed Nolan for you?"

"Since you killed Nolan for me, then will you allow me to go to jail for his death?"

"You won’t go to jail; neither of us will. I am already arranging a fake passport for us to leave this country, and very soon it will be ready."

"Leave this country? With the Sanders family influence, we won’t even be able to cross the borders."

"With fake names, we can. Amber, I am your mother, and I may have done many wrongs in the past, but never you forget that I love you more than myself, and I will never allow you to go to jail for my crimes. Okay?"

Amber nodded in tears and bugged her mother.

Sloane’s phone vibrated, and she saw that it was a message from her fake passport dealer.

"It’s ready. Pack your bags; we are leaving."

"But how are we going to survive after leaving the country? Our account has been frozen."

"Do you think I’m an idiot? I have at least ten million in an account no one knows about; we will survive with that money, invest some, and grow our money. Now, pack your things!"

Amber nodded and packed her bags. It was not fair! Why did she have to run away because of Eliana? Once again Eliana has defeated her; if only she can kill that bitch before she leaves, after all, she no longer has anything to lose.

A week later

It’s been a week since Eliana found out who her real mother was, and for a week, the police have been searching for both Sloane and Amber but have not been able to catch them.

Whenever Eliana feels that they might have left the country, Zachary will always assure them that it is not possible for them to have crossed the border.

Seeing Eliana’s worried face, Zachary sighed and said, "Today is a very important day for us; we shouldn’t be thinking about those people."

Eliana looked at the waiter who had just served them a glass of water and focused her gaze on the water as she said, "I know, but... the longer it takes to catch them, the more difficult it becomes. It’s been a week, Zach, and they have been able to slip away from us. If this continues, they will never be caught."

Zach held his wife’s hand as he reassured her, "They will be caught. Before the end of the month, they will be caught."

"Do you promise me that?"

"Yes, Eliana, I do. Now, put on a smile; you are about to get what you’ve always wanted."

Eliana frowned and asked, "Don’t you want this as well?"

"Of course I do. At first, I was hesitant, but now I’m certain: let’s have this baby."

Eliana smiled at her husband, and she noticed the person they were waiting for coming into the restaurant.

The young lady they had chosen to be their surrogate walked towards them and greeted them before taking a seat opposite the couple.

"What do you want to order?" Eliana asked gently.

The lady named Greta smiled politely and said, "I don’t know. I have never been in such a fancy restaurant before, so I..."

"It’s ok, I will order for us." Eliana said. She called the waiter and ordered for the three of us.

After the food was served, Eliana looked at Greta and asked, "This is our first meal together, and I promise you that all your needs will be met."

Greta nodded softly and asked, "When do we go to the hospital?"

"Tomorrow. I have already spoken to the doctor, and he said we should be there by 8 am." Zach said. "But before that, you need to sign an NDR and also another contract that states you won’t be have any connection with the child after birth."

Greta nodded and said, "I already know that, and I’m ready."

"You are?" Eliana asked, a tinge of excitement in her voice.

"The both of you seem like really nice people, and even though I know you are just borrowing my womb for a child, I would still feel bad if a child I brought to this world ended up with terrible parents. I agree I’m doing this for money and probably don’t have any right to think of the future of this child, but if the both of you were terrible people, I wouldn’t have done it."

Eliana laughed softly and said, "Thank you for being our surrogate."

Zach looked at Eliana and smiled when he saw the excitement in her eyes. Henry has already submitted himself to the police after admitting all of his crimes, and once the police find Sloane and Amber, then their joy will be complete and their worries will be no more.
