Detention Center

The door opened, and a police officer led Helina inside the detention center. Helina frowned when she saw who was waiting for her, and after the cop left, she said, "If you are here to make me change my mind, then don’t bother. It’s because of your mother that I’m in this mess, and I won’t let her go free while I spend the rest of my life in prison."

"Who said anything about you spending the rest of your life in prison?" Amber asked.

"Then do you have a way of getting me out of jail as well?" Amber smiled and showed her a picture of her daughter, who has been sent to the orphanage, and after that, a video.

Helina watched the video and saw that the other children were bullying her daughter and treating her poorly. "This and maybe something worse will be the future of your child. You have already wronged one child, so can you really bear hurting the other? If you agree to my terms, then I assure you that I will hire the best lawyer for you."

"With what money? It’s obvious your father has abandoned you and your mother, so how exactly will you get me the best lawyers?"

"Do not forget who I’m married to. I am a member of the Woods family, so when I say I will get you the best lawyers, then I am definitely going to get them for you. You won’t spend the rest of your life in jail, and that is not all. I will send your daughter to one of the best private schools abroad, and when you get out, twenty million dollars will be transferred to your account."

Risk it all and get out of jail in a maximum of ten or fifteen years with twenty million dollars to start your life and also join your daughter abroad, or you drag Sloane down with you, get defended by a public lawyer who is afraid to offend the Lennox family, and then you end up with a life sentence while your daughter will spend her life in an orphanage being bullied and, of course, with no chance of adoption because who would want a murderer child after all?"

"I am not a murderer. Jason isn’t dead."

Helina could recognize that substance anywhere. And as she looked at it, she heard Amber say, "You can have it; no one will know."

Helina immediately opened it and poured it on the table, bending down to sniff it. Since the drug was very little, it didn’t take long for her to finish it. Helina sniffed and cleaned her nose as she said, "Where did you get that from? It’s different from all the cheap nonsense I take."

"Even though I don’t take drugs, I still know where to get quality products from, and I am offering you a quality life as well if you agree to my terms."

Helina looked at Amber for a while before she asked, "Aren’t you adopted?"

"How does that concern you?"

"I’m just curious why you are fighting so much for a woman who isn’t related to you by blood, and the fact that Sloane loves you more than her own real daughter is just so strange."

"Mind your business."

Helina smiled and leaned forward to Amber, looking carefully at her face. "Are you really the daughter of a maid?"

"What?"

"You and Sloane have the same eyes."

"Stop talking such nonsense and tell me if you are agreeing to take the blame for everything or not!" 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

Helina sighed and replied, "Fine, I will take the blame. I will tell the police that Sloane had nothing to do with me stabbing Jason. I will take the fall alone, but listen to me, pretty girl. If I don’t get a light sentence as you have promised me, or if you don’t send my daughter abroad as you have said, or worst, if I get out and you don’t give me my twenty million dollars, then I will find you, and unlike what I did with Jason, I will ensure you are dead before leaving the scene."

"Keep your threats to yourself, and I will fulfill every promise that I have made to you, and if I don’t, you can kill me just as you have said." "Then it’s a deal."

"So what are you planning to do now? Your daughter has given the ten percent you gave her to Philip, and now he has more shares than you in your own company." Anne said, massaging Henry’s shoulders.

"What do you think I should do?" Henry asked. "Why don’t you destroy Philip?"

"Destroy Philip? How can I do that?"

"Does he not have any dirt under him?" Anne asked as she stopped massaging him, but Henry brought her hand back to his shoulders, which brought a smile to her face.

"None that I know of. When I started Solar Technologies, Philip came to me, desperate for a job, and when I saw that he was good at his job, I made him my right-hand man, and he even became the vice president of the company. I never thought he was just a spy sent by my own daughter. From the beginning she planned this."

"There is not a man who doesn’t have dirt in his shoes. He must have a dirty past he wants no one to know about or something he is ashamed of. If we could find his weakness, then we can make him sign his shares over to you, making you the number one shareholder in Solar Technologies."

"You are right; every man has a weakness and. Philip should be no different."

Anne smiled at the fact that Henry agreed with her words and asked, "Are you feeling much better?"

"Yeah, your massages are amazing. You should seriously start a spa or something."

Anne laughed softly and replied, "What I truly want is to be your wife."

Henry kept silent after she said that, and he felt her hand leave his shoulders.

Anne turned to look at him standing in front of her and asked, "Now that your divorce with Sloane has been made public, we are going to get married, right?"

Henry sighed and said, "Anne, I just got out of a marriage, and to be honest, I don’t think jumping into another one is a good idea."

"Is that so? You said you loved me, but you won’t make it official? How does that make sense?"

"We are not kids, Anne, and you and I both know that a lot of people live together and do not get married."

"And that is why when the other person dies, the other partner is left with nothing." Anne said and immediately regretted her words when she saw the look in Henry’s eyes.

"So is that what this is about? You getting an inheritance from me?"

"Henry, I love you. Even you can’t deny this fact, but if you love me as you have said, then you will protect me and our son."

"You mean your son. A twenty-five-year-old is capable of fending for himself, but yet he still calls you to send him money for his upkeep."

"How does that relate to our discussion?"

"Oh come on, Anne, it’s no secret that you wanted me to name your son my successor."

"You are wrong. I only wanted you to support him, but as long as Eliana remains in control of Solar technologies, then you won’t be able to do that."

Henry sighed and said, "I will find a way to take back my company. Eliana is only doing this out of bitterness and anger towards me and her mother; she has no interest in the company. I will take it back from Philip and make him pay for betraying him. However, my successor will never change."

"Henry."

"Eliana is my only child by blood. As for you and your son, I won’t leave you alone in this world without ensuring I set up financial measures that will ensure you are taken care of."

Anne nodded; she didn’t want to pursue the matter any further. After all, he hasn’t even gotten back the company, but when he does, she will ensure that it is put in her name.
