Help! the four Alpha's are obsessed with me.-Chapter 174 Daniel’s Human Dog
Daniel took off after the passionate kiss; something needed his attention, and he was heading there that exact moment.
Swaying his hips, he cat-walked until he reached a room locked from the outside. Pulling a key from his pocket, he inserted it into the keyhole, and the door groaned heavily as it swung open.
Taking a breath and adjusting his outfit, he finally stepped inside. His eyes landed on the person he’d come to see: Adrian Valez—and Jake, his brainless assistant.
For some reason, Adrian was practicing boxing on Jake, who took each blow like a drug, grimacing and making ridiculous faces the whole time.
"Another shot," Adrian’s bass voice commanded.
Jake obeyed, raising his hands to cover half his face. A powerful punch landed against his palms, sending him staggering backward. He fell hard on his butt, landing painfully on the floor. Adrian scoffed.
"You’ve grown too soft and weak, Jake. It irritates me." Adrian pulled off his gloves and reached for a cup of water nearby, only to find it empty.
"Fuck! The water’s gone," he ranted, glaring at Jake, who could offer no help. Jake tried to stand but was dragged back by the heavy chains locked around his neck like a choker. The weight was punishing—several pounds of cold iron—but he had endured it in this filthy room for so long. Just as he thought he might die of thirst, he glanced around and met a pair of emerald eyes fixed on him.
Adrian paused, following Jake’s gaze. There stood Daniel, not just stunning but radiating pure beauty and shimmering grace. Since birthing the babies, he had transformed into something even more lovely, his skin shining like polished olive.
"Still obsessed with me, I see," Daniel said, a cup of water in hand. He placed it on the floor without stepping closer—avoiding any chance of attack. He still didn’t trust the madman before him.
Psychopath or sociopath, he wasn’t sure what category Adrian fell into. The terror Adrian had once inflicted was a living nightmare. Now, Daniel was paying him back, treating him like the animal he deserved to be. But it was time to advance things.
"Why did you murder Maxine?" Daniel asked, arms akimbo. "I loved the way the bitch died, but what was your reason? Why end her in such a gruesome way?" He ignored the corpse-like figure of Jake on the other side of the room.
Between Adrian and Jake, the more pathetic right now was Jake—looking moments from collapse. But it didn’t shake Daniel. This was only the beginning of Jake’s suffering; more was certainly coming.
"You’re asking this now? Haven’t I done enough penance to show how sorry I am?" Adrian cut in, meeting Daniel’s sharp gaze with what he hoped was a convincing delicate look—a poor disguise for how deadly Daniel truly was.
"Penance? Those meaningless words about making me happy? About me becoming the most powerful person? Is that your penance?" Daniel’s tone was thick with mockery.
Adrian felt jabbed but didn’t let it show.
"I’ve been suffering for months—not weeks—paying for my sins. What else should I do to make you happy?" Adrian asked. Daniel gave him a long, considering look.
Is this another promise? Is this man still in love with him? If so, he was genuinely surprised.
"You expect me to forgive you so quickly? To let you go? To turn a blind eye after you nearly took my life and my pride? What did I ever do to you to deserve that? And now you want the easy way out?" Daniel laughed, a deranged sound that filled the room. "Do you take me for a fool? Am I that easily manipulated?"
He stopped suddenly, finally walking closer to Adrian without a hint of fear.
"Daniel Lancaster—that’s your real name, isn’t it? Well, you should know one thing: from the time I first set eyes on you, I couldn’t help myself. I knew I was falling the day I caught you in your first attempt to escape." Adrian paused, stepping as close as his chain would allow, close enough to almost feel Daniel’s body heat before the restraint pulled him back.
"That day, I was enraged. If it were anyone else, I would have killed them for trying to run. But with you... I didn’t. I didn’t even assault you. Want to know why? Because I had fallen madly in love. I couldn’t control it. I wanted a piece of you so badly." Adrian’s voice burned with unspeakable emotion. "Just a bite of you—that’s all I ever wanted. But it didn’t go according to plan. I never got to have you. I lost to Xylander. But now... now I can make a difference. I can get you what you truly deserve, Daniel. You deserve the whole world."
He let his confession hang in the air, waiting for it to sink in.
Jake blinked, stunned. His boss... in love with Daniel? He’d suspected but brushed it aside, certain his cold-hearted beast of a boss could never fall in love. Yet here it was, laid bare before him.
Daniel didn’t speak for several seconds. His eyes moved from Adrian to Jake and back.
Then he began to clap. And laugh—a long, mean, heartless laugh that could chill anyone’s spine.
"Oh dear, I almost cried. What a drama, Adrian. What did you study in university? Let me guess—theater and film studies? Because damn, this is emotional." He laughed again before turning stoic and serious. "Okay. So how do you expect to be useful? That’s why I came here."
He cut straight to the point, no more beating around the bush.
"Well, Daniel..." Adrian squatted, bringing his face close to Daniel’s lap. "Let me be your tool for revenge. Use me, Daniel, and I’ll get you the glory you crave."
Daniel nodded slowly. "You’re part of the revenge I crave—I hope you know that. And to be my tool means from now on, you’re automatically my dog. So, dog... get down. Let’s get to business."
His tone was high with command. Adrian dropped to his knees. Daniel took hold of the chain and began to drag it forward, forcing Adrian to crawl as his knees scraped against the concrete, wounding him in the process.
"Now that’s what I want, dog. Let’s go."
Daniel quickened his pace, pulling the chain behind him as Adrian staggered painfully on his knees.
"You’re lucky, Adrian, that I vouched for you. You’re still useful in my plans. Otherwise, Xylander—my sweet husband—would have ordered your head and dick on a silver platter. But well... that’s for another day."
As they reached the staircase, a maid passed by carrying a tray of juice. Daniel’s body tilted slightly, brushing the corner of the tray. The contents slid from her hands, pouring all the juice and shattering glass directly onto Adrian.
He was soaked, multiple wounds opening where the glass jabbed into his skin. Even his knees weren’t spared—furiously scraped by the shards. A moan nearly tore from his throat, but Daniel stopped him cold. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"If you make a sound, then you’re not worthy to be an Alpha or a man. Is that clear?"
Daniel’s look was icy, leaving no room for protest.
