Help, I'm in Another World and All the Men Are Are So Dangerous! [BL]-Chapter 322: The Big News
Chapter 322: The Big News
Classic petty retaliation.
"Ugh... It’s always me who loves Laxus more... it’s not fair..."
"Guhhh!!"
As soon as Rocco said that with a pout, Laxus reeled back like he’d taken a fatal blow.
What the—? What just happened?
Rocco blinked his eyes, baffled, and tapped Laxus’s now-serene face, trying to call him back to reality.
Eventually, Laxus blinked awake and—suddenly—pulled Rocco into a tight embrace.
What the heck now?!
"Geez! You’re such a little devil, Rocco!"
"Huh? I’m not a devil. I’m a human. Laxus, are you an idiot?"
"That part of you is adorable too..."
What was with that gentle, indulgent smile—like he was talking to a baby or something?
Rocco huffed.
Laxus was definitely underestimating him.
No doubt about it. Hmph!
"...Hey, Rocco. You really love me, don’t you? I love you too."
"Huh? Yeah. I know that."
Now what was this all of a sudden?
One minute Laxus was calling him a little devil, the next he was all soft smiles and sincere words.
This guy was all over the place.
A bit bewildered, Rocco nodded his head.
Right, of course. He loved Laxus, and Laxus loved him. That was obvious.
So what? What was Laxus getting at now?
Still blinking his eyes in confusion, Rocco found himself pulled into another embrace.
Laxus’s sweet smile deepened as he began to speak again.
"We kiss a lot, and whenever you stay over, we always end up making love. I even know about those two little moles on your back, and how cute you sound when I lick your neck."
"Wh—?! Wh-what the heck! Cut it out! Geez!"
What was that supposed to be?! Laxus was being totally unfair! Was he teasing him on purpose?!
That kind of stuff was way too embarrassing!
Rocco’s face turned bright red as he curled up in mortified protest.
Punching weakly at Laxus’s chest, Rocco got pulled into an even tighter hug, and Laxus whispered into his ear with a smile.
Of course.
He knew Rocco’s ears were his weak spot.
This jerk.
"That’s why... I think it’s about time I hear your real answer, Rocco."
"...!"
Rocco flinched at the whispered words.
That’s right—that answer.
They always said "I love you" to each other, so he kind of forgot.
But he still hadn’t given a proper reply yet.
"After everything that’s happened, I want to make sure you’re completely protected. With the rebel party has been crushed and Deimos and the others set to be executed soon, now’s the perfect time."
"Hmm..."
"If you officially become my spouse, it’ll be easier for Del Fiore to keep you safe."
Laxus’s voice was calm and soothing.
In this quiet room, with only his words echoing gently between them, Rocco found himself unable to argue.
He clutched at Laxus’s shirt, his brows furrowing slightly.
"I... I..."
Laxus gently cupped Rocco’s face and lifted it.
Their eyes met—those clear, crimson eyes locking onto his—and the last of Rocco’s hesitation melted away.
That long-awaited answer to the confession.
It would be a while before the others heard the news.
That moment finally came on the night of a grand ball, it was held to commemorate the transition of leadership in the Don Ferocelli family.
Given the history with the Don Ferocellis, the air was understandably awkward.
Still, as a formal event between two powerful families, attendance from all major figures was a must.
Naturally, Rocco had been told to stay behind.
But by pulling out his secret weapon—the classic "Nooo, I wanna go toooo!" routine—he somehow managed to win permission to attend.
This time, there would be no repeat of past disasters.
The security was very tight to the point of overkill, with zero regard for the unspoken rules of formal gatherings.
Around Rocco alone, a swarm of burly, heavily armed guards had been stationed like a wall of muscle.
And, most importantly, Laxus—arguably the greatest defense of them all—was standing by Rocco’s side, dead-set on protecting him.
Laxus wasn’t kidding around, either.
Not only had he sworn "From now on, I won’t leave your side, not even for a moment," but he was also participating in the evening under the influence of a binding spell—if he strayed more than five meters from Rocco, he’d be hit with excruciating pain.
Now that was commitment.
So, on the night of the ball, with everything overly prepared and locked down, Rocco found himself fidgeting with his rabbit-shaped tie pin, nerves bubbling inside him.
Tonight, he was going to tell everyone the Big News.
"Rocco," Laxus said softly, "Looks like the Di Malvento and Del Fiore people have gathered in the parlor. Let’s finish up the greetings with Feilu and head over there."
"Mhm! R-right!"
The new head of the Don Ferocelli family, Feilu Don Ferocelli had already been formally introduced, and the rest of the venue had shifted into casual mingling and scattered conversations.
Amid all that, Laxus suddenly leaned in and whispered those words.
The moment they hit his ears, Rocco’s heart started pounding like a drum, and his limbs froze up with tension.
Moving stiffly and awkwardly—right hand with right foot, left hand with left foot—he somehow managed to follow Laxus through the crowd toward Feilu.
Feilu, who had been chatting with a few other mafia members, suddenly spotted them and visibly lit up.
With a quick bow to those around him, he hurried over.
"Laxus! Rocco! I can’t believe you came—thank you!"
Feilu waved at them with a bright, refreshing smile that seemed to shine through the crowd.
Caught up in that sunshine-like energy, Rocco found himself waving back with a cheerful "Yay!"
He wanted to go in for a high-five, but one of the muscle-wall guards suddenly extended an arm in front of Feilu, blocking him like a solid "Nope, that’s far enough."
"Ah—sorry about that..."
Feilu gave an apologetic chuckle and stopped in his tracks.
Rocco’s raised hand, left without a destination, drooped sadly in midair.
Just as he started to lower it awkwardly, Laxus reached over and took it in his own, gently squeezing it.
