Help, I'm in Another World and All the Men Are Are So Dangerous! [BL]-Chapter 291: A Visit to the Palace
Chapter 291: A Visit to the Palace
Instead, he matched his father who is dressed in an all-black suit.
A crisp white shirt, black suspender shorts, and a black jacket on top—it was black from head to toe.
For a moment, he wondered if he should have gone for something more fantasy-like and extravagant, but apparently, the formal attire of the Di Malvento family was a black suit.
With his fourteenth birthday just around the corner, he was only now learning this about his own family’s traditions.
How disappointing.
"Ah... I suppose the bunny hairpin would be inappropriate. Hmm..."
As he stared at his reflection absentmindedly, his eyes caught on the vibrant blue pin that stood out starkly against all the black.
After a brief moment of hesitation, he reluctantly decided to forgo the bunny hairpin.
Instead, he fastened his hair with a simple black pin.
Hmph. It was a little sad to be without his bunny, but today, there was no helping it. This would have to do.
Since armed guards weren’t allowed in the royal palace, both Georgio and Ragar had the day off.
The absence of the two of them made the house feel oddly quiet, and Rocco found himself feeling just a little lonely as he quickly walking toward the entrance hall, where his father and Sylas were likely waiting.
The journey to the palace was exhausting.
Between his father and Sylas bickering over who got to hold him, Rocco barely survived the carriage ride.
By the time they arrived at the palace, he was already worn out, despite the fact that the day’s real business hadn’t even begun.
Now utterly limp, Rocco let Sylas, who was in an unnaturally good mood, carry him as they entered the royal palace.
"Brother, it would be disrespectful to meet the king while being carried away like this. I’ll just walk by myself."
"What? There is no such thing as ’disrespect’ in your actions. Anyone who dares call you disrespectful is the one being disrespectful. Don’t worry about it."
Rocco’s eyes welled up with unshed tears.
Of course, he did worry about it.
But he knew Sylas well enough to realize there was no point in arguing.
Experience had taught him that in these moments, it was best to just accept his fate.
Fine. If the important people scolded him for this, he’d just blame Sylas for everything.
As Rocco glanced around restlessly, he quickly noticed something strange.
As his father and Sylas strode confidently down the center of the hallway, every single person around them—whether servants, nobles, or even those who looked like high-ranking officials—averted their gazes in unison.
It was then that Rocco, ever the quick thinker, immediately caught on.
Ah, of course. No one here would dare accuse them of disrespect.
After all, there wasn’t a single fool in this palace who would risk their life by lecturing a Di Malvento.
In that case, there was no need for Rocco to bother smoothing things over as he usually would.
Today, he’d take advantage of the ominous aura his father and Sylas exuded.
"—Oh? What a coincidence."
As they made their way through the palace, a familiar voice called out from behind.
Recognizing it instantly, Rocco lifted his face from Sylas’s shoulder and spun around.
His gaze met a pair of bright red eyes curved into a cheerful smile.
Without hesitation, Rocco wriggled out of Sylas’s arms and dashed forward that person.
"Laxus! It’s Laxus!"
"Rocco! Hehe, yep, it’s me. What a coincidence! You’re at the palace too?"
"Yep! I’m here to see Ares, the King, and the Prince!"
"Wow, you’ve got a lot to do today. Hey, can I tag along? I just finished my business, and now I’m free."
"Hm? Really? Of course, you can!"
Watching Rocco cheer excitedly, Laxus puffed out his chest with pride.
Nothing made him happier than seeing Rocco in a good mood.
Just as Rocxo nodded his head contentedly, he suddenly felt a heavy, dark presence behind him.
His shoulders jerked in surprise.
Oh no... He had completely forgotten about them.
Rocco had been so thrilled to see Laxus that he had let his guard down.
Before he could react, he was firmly grabbed under both arms and swiftly lifted out of Laxus’s embrace.
Huh?
He turned around to see Sylas hugging him tightly.
"...You disgusting creep. Stalking all the way here first thing in the morning? You must have way too much free time."
"Oh, come on. Don’t make false accusations. This is just a coincidence."
"Oh? Then who were those men from your organization stationed outside the Di Malvento estate at dawn? They vanished the moment the carriage departed."
"Hmm... I have no idea what you’re talking about." ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
As Laxus feigned ignorance and Sylas bristled with hostility, their usual bickering was about to escalate.
Sensing the impending storm, Rocco decided to intervene.
As amusing as their fights could be, a shootout inside the royal palace was definitely not an option.
With a small scolding—"Enough, both of you!"—he put a stop to their brewing conflict.
Miraculously, that was all it took for their aggressive auras to wane, if only slightly.
Rocco gave a satisfied nod at his success, just as his father stepped in with an exasperated sigh.
"...It can’t be helped. We’ll allow this fool to accompany us. Not that he was planning on leaving Rocco’s side anyway."
Rocco wasn’t quite sure what had just happened, but it seemed like Laxus was officially permitted to join them.
Lucky!
Feeling giddy at this unexpected reunion, Rocco chatted with Laxus as they walked.
He was oblivious to the fact that his father and Sylas were glaring at Laxus in irritation the entire time.
As they neared the King’s office, Rocco realized something important.
No matter how much Sylas insisted on carrying him around, he definitely could not meet the King while being held like a child.
So, as they approached, he squirmed and wiggled out of Sylas’s arms.
Sylas pouted in obvious displeasure, but that was his problem, not Rocco’s.
