Hellhound At Supernatural Academy-Chapter 16: The 4 Horsemen Of the Apocalypse
Chapter 16: The 4 Horsemen Of the Apocalypse
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse—Death, Famine, War, and Conquest—serve as symbols of the end of creation. Their existence acts as a fail-safe for ending all life as we know it. Each individual horseman holds the key to immense power. They are freaks of nature that bring calamity wherever they go. I've only ever met one of them: Death.
He was Lucifer's second-in-command. In his skeletal form, he wore a black cloak and wielded a scythe. He always had a creepy red horse by his side, one with half of its head removed, exposing its brain, and dragging its intestines along the ground. He alone was responsible for the scent of death that permeated Hell. If he were here, the entire world would smell like a rotting carcass.
"I'll ask you again: which one are you working for?"
This angel is going to be a problem; I should get rid of him. As if sensing my intention, he swung the angelic blade at me. I managed to dodge the attack and grabbed him by the throat. Before he could follow up and stab me, I released a wave of heat in the form of a pulse from my hand, vaporizing him instantly without leaving a trace.
I sighed in relief, thinking it was over, but from the corner of my eye, I saw someone at the entrance of the classroom watching the conflict unfold—it was a girl. She turned to retreat, but in an instant, I grabbed her from behind and threw her across the room into the wall causing her to fall to the ground. The adrenaline pumping through me caused me to underestimate my own strength.
She stared up at me with blood-red eyes, but I could see fear in them. Her mouth revealed two large pointed fangs. There were three possibilities: she was either a werewolf, a vampire, or a ghoul. Ghoul was out of the question, and werewolves had yellow eyes, which meant she was a vampire.
Upon looking at her more closely, I realized I knew her; it was Ava, Mia's friend. What was she doing here? When I saw her, it looked like she had been crying. Should I question her or just kill her? It would be easier to kill her, but considering I had already killed Leto, it might complicate things. Come on, think! I need to come up with a solution fast. Should I opt for Lucifer's approach or Nina's?

"Stay away from me! If you try anything, I'll scream!!"
"Why were you crying?"
"You're seriously asking me that after you just murdered someone!"
I walked up to her and crouched down so our faces were just inches apart.
"I'll make sure you won't get the chance to scream."
"What kind of monster are you?"
"Answer the question before I lose my patience... You see, I'm not thinking straight right now."
She hesitated for a moment, struggling to find the words before finally answering. She looked straight into my eyes.
"...I... It's about Liam, okay?"
"What about Liam? Did he ask you to spy on me?"
"No!!" she shouted, surprised by her own reaction.
"Then what does it have to do with Liam? Tell me."
At my question, she bit her lip until blood poured from her mouth.
"...It's just that I... I... I'm in love with Liam!!"
"So?"
"I saw him kissing Mia after she won her match, and I don't know—some emotions came bubbling up. I had to get away. I wanted to go somewhere where no one would see me crying, then..."
So that's how it is. There might be something here I can use to my advantage.
"You said you love Liam, right?" She gave a small nod in response. "How would you feel if I killed him, just like I killed Leto?"
Ava clenched her fists and glared at me with her blood-red eyes.
"I'll kill you if you touch a single hair on his head."
"I won't have to if you keep your mouth shut."
"You expect me to stay quiet after watching you murder someone in cold blood? You're crazy, you know that! Everyone will hear about what you did. You can't go around killing people. I hate disgusting murderers like you the most."
This isn't working. It would be better to just kill her. She's too much of a pain in the ass to deal with. As if sensing my intention, Ava attacked, throwing a punch aimed at my face. I effortlessly grabbed her hand and slammed her head to the floor. If she didn't listen, torture was another option.
"Stop!! What are you doing!! Fine, you win! I won't tell anyone!!" she wailed.
"Can I trust you not to?"
"I'll make a binding vow!!"
"A What?"
"It's one of my gifts. Vampires are given three gifts when they come of age. One of my gifts is to create a contract with myself or another person. It's called a binding vow. If I break this contract, I'll die."
"How do we perform this 'binding vow'?"
"We have to drink each other's blood. I've never done it before."
"Fine, we'll create a contract so that if you tell anyone about what you saw here, you'll die."
"That's not how a contract works. I'll need something out of it. How about you promise not to harm Liam in any way?"
"Harm is too broad a category. The most I can promise is not to kill him."
"You really are a monster, aren't you? Fine, let's make the contract."
Ava and I made the contract, and then I let her leave the room unharmed. I wasn't sure if I had made the right choice. Leto's disappearance would lead to more problems, and I needed to figure out why he was at this school and what it had to do with the Four Horsemen. Killing an angel could have severe repercussions. It might create complications down the line; I couldn't afford to go to war against Angels—they're too much of a hassle.
I had just finished dealing with the problem that was Rizor, and now more issues were popping up in its place.
