Heavens' Laughter-Chapter 133: Warning
For a moment, silence hung between them…
Cai Bo exhaled sharply, his fists tightening. ’Damn it...’
He had never felt so powerless before — not in a life or death battle, not in war, not even in politics, but right here, in front of his own daughter.
’Uh…’ Cai Bo hesitated. He wanted to force her, to make her understand that this wasn’t just about obedience — it was about protection.
But he couldn’t bring himself to do it. He bit his lip, hard enough to draw blood, frustration bubbling beneath the surface.
"Alright…" Cai Bo’s voice came slow and cold, each word carrying the weight of his unwilling surrender. "Just promise me you’ll stay inside this room. That you won’t leave."
Cai Xiu let out an exaggerated sigh, picking up a small fan and waving it lazily, the heat of the room making her skin prickle.
"If it gets you off my back, then sure. I won’t leave this room," she replied, indifferent, her tone dismissive.
But deep inside, Cai Xiu was already plotting her exit.
The moment her Master arrived, nothing would stop her.
Cai Bo studied her for a long moment, his expression unreadable.
Then, finally, he nodded. "Good." His voice held finality, but as he looked downward, lost in thought, the doubt gnawed at him.
Did he really want her to stay?
Or was it just the only way he knew how to protect her?
’I don’t know…’ Cai Bo thought.
However, he still turned on his heel and strode out, the weight in his chest grew heavier.
And so, Cai Bo locked down the entire estate.
No one would enter.
No one would leave.
He could only hope it would be enough.

"Is everyone gathered?" Dylan Lau’s voice rang out.
He stood at the front, his mount behind him, releasing low, guttural grunts.
Thick saliva dripped from its fangs, pooling at its feet.
Dylan Lau’s gaze swept across the assembled army — hundreds of warriors standing in disciplined lines.
"Here." Feng Yuanyun, Cai Bo, and Fan Chengcheng responded in unison, each standing at the forefront of their respective divisions.
Though their numbers were not vast, the sheer strength within their ranks more than compensated.
These were not ordinary soldiers; they were elite cultivators, young yet formidable, each one capable of shaking the battlefield with their might.
"Good," Dylan Lau said, nodding in satisfaction:
"We move now. I’ve negotiated with some third parties, and they’ve agreed to send reinforcements ahead of us. They’ll be waiting when we arrive — so let’s not waste any time!"
With that, Dylan Lau leaped onto his mount in one smooth motion.
The beast roared, powerful wings unfurling, and in the next instant, he was airborne.
The army followed. One after another, everyone mounted their beasts and surged into the sky, a streak of movement.
The wind howled around them as they soared forward.

"Please spare my life—!?"
Crack!
Feng Shen yawned, his expression bored as he pressed his foot down on the assassin’s skull. A sickening crack echoed through the forest as bone shattered, brain matter splattering across the dirt.
The man’s body convulsed once before going still, sprawled lifeless beneath him.
"Pathetic." Feng Shen exhaled, shaking his head in disappointment. "First, you ambush me. Then, you beg for your life? What a joke."
His gaze swept across the forest, the air thick with the scent of damp earth and blood.
Shadows stretched between the towering trees, and Feng Shen could sense the others lurking, waiting for their moment.
"Can we not play hide and seek?" He rolled his shoulders, cracking his neck:
"This is why I hate assassins—so boring! All you do is hide and st—"

Before Feng Shen could finish, a barrage of daggers crackling with pure lightning shot toward him from the darkness.
In a split second, he bent backward in an effortless limbo, the deadly projectiles slicing through the air just above him.
Feng Shen’s face remained impassive, his eyes lazily shifting to the direction the attack had come from.
Behind him, the daggers struck a thick tree trunk. A violent explosion of electricity split the wood apart, sending splinters flying as the tree collapsed with a deafening crash.
Feng Shen clicked his tongue. "Really? Now we’re hurting Mother Nature? Tch… You assassins just keep getting worse."
"What’s this?" Suddenly, his eyes locked onto a small bird emerging from a nearby bush, a tiny note clutched in its beak.
It flapped frantically, trying to ascend into the sky.
"Oh? A distress message?" Feng Shen let out a small chuckle.
Without hesitation, he unleashed Dragon’s Roar.
A deafening shockwave erupted from Feng Shen’s mouth, hitting the bird mid-flight and obliterating it instantly.
Feathers and charred remnants scattered like ash in the wind.
But Feng Shen wasn’t done.
A wicked grin spread across his face as he spun in place, unleashing Dragon’s Roar repeatedly in every direction.
Thunderous shockwaves tore through the forest, ripping apart trees, shattering boulders, and reducing the once-dense woodland to splinters and dust.
Hidden assassins screamed as they were caught in the devastation, their bodies torn apart before they could even react.
Those who survived scrambled in desperation.
Some used escape techniques, vanishing into the shadows.
Others burrowed underground, soared into the sky, or dashed through the wreckage, each taking a different route in a frenzied attempt to flee.
It didn’t matter.
Feng Shen laughed, his good mood only improving as he pursued them, his figure blurring with speed.
One by one, he caught up to them, giving them no time to breathe, no time to beg, no time to live.
However, one assassin managed to escape.
Utilizing a secret technique, he disguised himself as a small, unassuming rabbit, erasing all traces of his human scent.
The assassin’s heart pounded in his tiny chest, and he fought the urge to piss himself as he hopped frantically away from the carnage.
With each bound, he put more distance between himself and that demon.
Only when the assassin was far enough did he dare glance upward — just in time to see a large group approaching from the distance.
His eyes widened in shock. ’Finally! About time these bastards arrived!’
Relief flooded through the assassin as he skidded to a stop.
Dropping the disguise, his body morphed back into human form, and he waved both arms wildly. "Hey, down here!" he called out, desperate to get their attention.
The assassin knew this was reckless.
Stupid, even.
But he had no choice.
If he ran off without reporting what had happened, the punishment waiting for him would be far worse than anything that the demon could have done.
Right?
And so, swallowing his fear, the assassin stood his ground, ready to warn them before they walked straight into a massacre.
It wasn’t long before the group noticed him.
Almost instantly, they began descending, landing one by one on the ruined ground.
Dylan Lau hopped off his mount first, his boots crunching against the earth.
His gaze swept across the devastation — the shattered trees, the smoldering craters.
"What’s wrong?" Dylan Lau asked, frowning. "I thought your men were engaging the target?"
His confusion deepened as he took in the sheer destruction around him.
The forest was in ruins, the once-thick canopy now nothing but splintered stumps and ash.
Dylan Lau wanted to ask what the hell had happened here, but time was of the essence.
Feng Yuanyun, Cai Bo, and Fan Chengcheng approached, their armor glinting under the sun, weapons strapped tight to their bodies.
"Dead," the assassin muttered, throwing a wary glance over his shoulder.
"Huh…" Dylan Lau raised an eyebrow. He had expected losses, of course—these men were cannon fodder, after all:
’But all of them? That fast?’
A sigh of irritation escaped Dylan Lau as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
These assassins had cost him a fortune, and they couldn’t even last long enough to be useful.
"Are you serious?" Dylan Lau asked, his tone edged with frustration. He needed to be sure.
The assassin nodded, wiping the sweat from his brow with his sleeve before turning to point toward where he had run from.
"What we’re up against is a total monster… I advise you to use all the caution you can—"
Before the assassin could finish, laughter erupted.
Scattered chuckles turned into outright amusement as the gathered young men and women scoffed at his warning.
Their arrogance was palpable, each of them too prideful to take the assassin’s words seriously.
Even Feng Yuanyun let out a chuckle, shaking his head.
"Puny little assassin, relax."
Feng Yuanyun clapped the man on the shoulder, the force making the assassin’s knees buckle as his feet sank slightly into the dirt.
His entire body trembled under the weight of the gesture.
"We’ll take care of this," Feng Yuanyun said as he stepped forward, motioning for his men to follow.
Without hesitation, they moved in sync behind him. He cast a glance back at the assassin and smirked.
"Just sit back and do nothing — like you have this whole time." Feng Yuanyun erupted into laughter again.
The assassin scoffed, clicking his tongue in annoyance. Stay connected through novelbuddy
He despised their arrogance, the way they dismissed his warning without a second thought.
’Fine, then.’ The assassin thought.
He silently hoped every single one of them will meet the same fate as his comrades.
