Heavenly Blessed Baby: Fleeing Famine, Busy to Prosper!-Chapter 235: Qi Manman’s Drawing of the Academy
"School?"
Qi Manman tilted her head, blinked: "Mother, Manbao seems to have seen it before, can Manbao try to draw it?"
Yi Meng didn’t think much of it, and simply laid a piece of coarse paper aside, then chose a not-so-long charcoal pencil and handed it to the little girl.
The little girl knelt on the bed, one arm propped on the table, while the other hand held the charcoal pencil and began to draw here and there on the paper.
Yi Meng glanced at it, and saw that it really had no semblance of an artistic method.
Once certain that the little girl was merely playing, curious, Yi Meng let her be and continued studying how the school should be constructed.
The mother and daughter quietly drew together, while Xiao Shiyi lay nearby snoring, making a very beautiful scene.
Until Mrs. Qi came in carrying chicken soup, breaking this piece of serene beauty.
"Meng Niang, drink the chicken soup."
Mrs. Qi handed the bowl to Yi Meng, only after Yi Meng took it did Mrs. Qi cheerfully ask Qi Manman, "What is Manbao doing? Tell Grandma."
"Grandma, I drew a school, see if it looks good."
Qi Manman took the coarse paper she had drawn on and presented it to Mrs. Qi like a treasure.
Mrs. Qi thought it was just the little girl’s childish doodles, but when she saw the pattern on the paper, she couldn’t help but take a sharp breath.
Yi Meng, who had just taken a sip of chicken soup, saw her mother-in-law’s reaction and immediately asked, "Mother, what’s wrong?"
"Meng, Meng Niang, is this a school?"
Mrs. Qi had never seen a formal school building before, but what she could be sure of was that even the authentic schools in the city of old couldn’t compare to the beautiful school her granddaughter had drawn.
Yi Meng assumed her daughter’s drawing was akin to scribbling, and had startled her mother-in-law, so she was about to say a few comforting words as she took the paper.
But when she saw what was on the paper, forget about saying comforting words, she almost stopped breathing.
The coarse paper was not white, even tended to yellow.
There were no colored pencils, just a charcoal pencil made from burnt wood.
The entire sheet had only these two colors, and the drawn items were merely simple lines.
Yet despite such simple drawings, four words floated in Yi Meng’s mind.
Immortal energy wafts.
A multi-story building was drawn from bottom to top, narrowing in width as it rose, eventually hidden within layers of clouds.
The random lines that Yi Meng initially saw from the little girl drawing now clearly outlined the edges of two white clouds.
Though most of the building was obscured by clouds, its exquisite carved beams and painted rafters were still visible, even invoking the grandeur of jade railings and stone structures.
Yi Meng had seen many period dramas and celestial fantasies in her past life; the constructions, whether physical sets or post-production effects, aimed to embody all sorts of immortal grandeur, but none matched the black and white lines on this coarse paper.
"Mother, does it look good?"
Qi Manman couldn’t understand the feelings of her grandmother and mother; she only saw them both fixated on her drawing without saying a word, making the little girl feel somewhat aggrieved.
She had been trying hard to recall the appearance of the school she had seen.
Hmm, that place was not called a school.
But Mr. Qin had said that a place dedicated to teaching could be considered a school.
It was a place for teaching too, so calling it a school must be okay.
The little girl’s slight hint of grievance cautiously brought Yi Meng back to reality.
