Chapter 202: 195: Aren’t you called Wang Shanxi, Young Master Guan (first update)
Jhiang Zhenghao was astonished, “Madam Guan knows my Xiao Wu?”
“I’ve heard of her.”
Jhiang Zhenghao ran through various speculations in his mind.
“She’s busy at the hospital and will come over later.” Jhiang Zhenghao was anxious to verify, “Madam Guan, I need to go and entertain the guests, please excuse me.”
Jhiang Zhenghao searched everywhere inside and outside the room but didn’t see Jhiang Youyou.
He called his third daughter, Jhiang Zhenzhen, aside to ask, “Where’s Youyou?”
“She might not come.”
“Get her here and tell her that Madam Guan wants to see her.”
Jhiang Zhenzhen thought her father wanted to arrange a marriage meeting and made an excuse for her sister, “Youyou doesn’t want a strategic marriage, just let her be.”
Jhiang Zhenghao reprimanded with a stern face, “What kind of family is the Guan Family, not one she can afford to offend.” Jhiang Zhenghao urged, “Hurry up and call her over, it’s not for a marriage alliance, our family doesn’t carry that much clout.”
The Jhiang Family was at best upstarts, and now on the brink of bankruptcy. Although Jhiang Zhenghao wanted his daughters to marry well, he didn’t dare to consider a family of the Guan’s caliber, whose elder flew abroad on a state aircraft.
Jhiang Youyou had arrived a quarter of an hour ago, but she wasn’t there to celebrate her cheap little brother’s birthday. She took the back door, going directly from the garage to the second floor.

As the nanny went upstairs to get a coat for the lady of the house, she saw that the door to the master bedroom was open. Approaching, she peeked through the crack in the door and saw a figure crouched beside the bed, rummaging through the bedside cabinet.
“Miss Xiao Wu?”
Jhiang Youyou turned around, her finger pressed to her lips, signaling for silence, “Shush.”
The nanny entered and closed the door.
Jhiang Youyou continued searching through the drawers.
The nanny fetched a fur shawl from the wardrobe and looked over curiously, “Miss Xiao Wu, what are you looking for?”
Jhiang Youyou waved her hand, “Go on with your work, don’t mind me.” She reminded, “Don’t tell anyone that I’m here.”
The nanny left with the clothes.
Shen Li was playing cards with a few Madams when the nanny handed her the clothes. Then the nanny went outside the villa to find Jhiang Zhenghao, and reported, “Sir, Miss Xiao Wu is here.”
Most of the guests were outdoors.
The men were talking about stock investments, and the women chatted about perfumes and handbags.
Madam Tan ran into an acquaintance, and as they were chatting, Mrs. Wang suddenly said, “Ling Lan, isn’t that your Sixing over there?”
Madam Tan looked towards the entrance, and sure enough, it was her precious son whom she hadn’t seen for two months. Seeing her son, Madam Tan couldn’t maintain her elegant composure, her face was filled with joy.
“Sixing,” Madam Tan rushed forward excitedly like a butterfly, “you came out of the lab and didn’t even call your mom.”
What Madam Tan didn’t know was that not only had her precious son not called her, but as soon as his vacation began, he went to see his girlfriend. And when he woke up, it was his girlfriend he looked for, not his mother.
He came here for his girlfriend as well.
“Let’s talk outside,” Guan Sixing was concerned about running into Jhiang Youyou, although she had already cut ties with Jhiang Zhenghao, and it was unlikely she would appear here.
Madam Tan was puzzled, “Where are we going?”
“Let’s talk outside.”
Guan Sixing took Madam Tan out, walking out of the Jhiang Family villa’s gate.
It was deserted here.
Only then did Guan Sixing ask, “Mom, what are you doing at the Jhiang Family’s place?”
“First tell me, have you got yourself a girlfriend yet?”
He nodded.
It seems what Mrs. Wang said was true, as Madam Tan confirmed with him, “It’s the fifth young Miss from the Jhiang Family, right?”
“Yes.”
What a fantasy.
Madam Tan thought her darling son would dedicate his life to physics, yet he was actually in love. Thinking about this, she felt a little sad, “You got a girlfriend and didn’t tell me.” She hummed, “I had to find out from someone else.”
Since he was young, Guan Sixing wasn’t clingy and lived in his own little world. He didn’t like to talk, nor did he like to be coddling with his parents. When Elder Guan sent him to live with the Gu Family, it left Madam Tan’s overflowing maternal love with nowhere to go.
“Mom,” Guan Sixing asked very earnestly, “are you here to break us up?”
Madam Tan was just over to take a look and incidentally to keep an eye on her son. After all, she had also heard some rather negative things at the hospital last time. Mainly, her beloved son was so focused on research and academics that he had little social experience; she was afraid he might be taken advantage of.
“Darling, do you think I’m the kind of person who would break up a loving couple?”
Guan Sixing honestly replied, “I don’t know.”
Madam Tan: “…”
Not a shred of affection for his mother was shown.
“Madam Guan.”
It was Jhiang Zhenghao.
The nanny said Jhiang Youyou took something and ran off; Jhiang Zhenghao came out looking for her. He saw Madam Tan with Guan Sixing and thinking back to how Madam Tan had just inquired about his younger daughter, he immediately had a suspicion.
“Young Master Guan is also here.”
Strangers usually addressed Guan Sixing as Professor Guan or Teacher Guan. Jhiang Zhenghao wanted to ingratiate himself with the Guan Family, so he was very eager to please in his address.
Guan Sixing just nodded.
Jhiang Zhenghao’s desire to flatter was written all over his face, “It’s cold outside, why not come in?”
Something fell to the ground with a sound, and the three of them at the door all looked in the direction of the noise.
“Youyou!”
A row of garden lights shone upward, creating clusters of conical beams of light.
Jhiang Youyou sat on top of the wall, with two beams of light on either side of her, as she looked at Guan Sixing.
“Why have you climbed up there, with no sense of propriety?” Jhiang Zhenghao scolded, “Come down this instant.”
She had climbed the wall to avoid Jhiang Zhenghao, because she was back at the Jhiang Family to “steal” something. She swung her other leg over and, bracing her hands on the wall, prepared to jump down.
“Youyou.”
Guan Sixing approached the wall.
Mrs. Guan’s face held an astounded expression; her son had merely called out a name, yet she could detect the affection and tenderness in it.
“Don’t jump,” Guan Sixing turned his head to ask Jhiang Zhenghao, “Is there a ladder?”
Jhiang Zhenghao said there was, but he didn’t go to fetch it immediately. His eyes swept back and forth between Guan Sixing and Jhiang Youyou, endlessly speculating about the nature of their relationship.
“No need for a ladder,” Jhiang Youyou told Guan Sixing, “Move aside a bit.”
Guan Sixing could tell she was angry.
He stepped aside.
Jhiang Youyou jumped down directly. In her hurry, without using her hands to cushion the fall and the ground being uneven, she landed on a stone and twisted her ankle slightly.
Guan Sixing immediately went over, “Did you twist your ankle?” He squatted down, “Let me see.”
Jhiang Youyou stepped backward.
“Aren’t you called Wang Shanxi?” Unfortunately, she had heard, “Young Master Guan.”
