He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact-Chapter 579. Game
A trace of surprise flashed through the envoy’s eyes on hearing Kailen’s words.
"This guy must know there will be consequences, right? So why’s he so confident? Or is he just stupid?" The envoy thought.
Kailen, reading his thoughts from even the subtle emotional expressions on his face, was very calm.
"Then, I will be taking my leave. Thank you for your hospitality." The envoy quickly left as quickly as he had arrived.
"My greetings to the emperor," Kailen replied.
As the envoy disappeared from his sight, Kailen shook his head lightly with a light smile.
"Don’t initiate any traps outside the borders." A glint flashed through Kailen’s eyes. "Let him return to his emperor with my response."
****
Karabi Empire.
In a hall.
"So he rejected the offer?" The emperor said as a glint of ruthlessness flashed through his eyes.
"Yes, my Lord," the envoy replied in a subservient manner.
"I see. Summon the black corp assassins. They know what to do."
****
"They should be making a move any moment from now," Kailen thought. He was currently having some snacks at the beach.
"Very refreshing atmosphere though," Kailen thought.
"About time." A glint flashed through his eyes as his gaze peered through the void.
Assassins.
They were outside the border of the Arman and Astral Empires.
"We are to capture some of his loved ones and use them as leverage. If he still refuses to cooperate, we kill them and we kill him," the boss of the assassins spoke.
"Yes," the others replied.
"Spread out."
"Yes."
Kailen observed everything with nonchalance.
"Activate trap C."
The moment he spoke, the shadow creatures activated one of the poison traps.
A transparent wave of some sort of aroma hit the nervous system of the assassins.
Suddenly, instead of proceeding with the mission, they turned to look at one another.
They looked at each other with extreme violence.
"You fucker! Did you really have to do that?" one spoke.
"How the hell could you do that to me?"
"It’s because you deserved it. Since you didn’t love her, was I supposed to let you waste her time? I’ma fucking kill you if you dare say another word to insult me."
"Be my guest."
Several conversations of different kinds broke out among the assassins, still outside the borders of the Astral and Arman Empires.
The poison had triggered their violent tendencies by influencing their nervous system. Issues among themselves in the past that didn’t require anger or violence became issues that suddenly led to extreme killing intent. The killing intent bled into violent clashes that further led to cataclysmic battles.
These beginner stage universe level powerhouse assassins from the Karabi Empire clashed in exchanges that destroyed surrounding celestial bodies outside the borders of the Astral and Arman Empires.
At this moment, the emperor of the Karabi Empire, his matured children, and other officials that he trusted were currently watching the operation.
"What the hell is wrong with these bastards?" one of the princes roared in fury.
Everyone shared the same thought. What was happening to the black corp assassins?
Why the hell had they turned on one another?
Very soon, the black corp assassins, rank 5 beginner stage universe level assassins that had performed various assassination feats for the empire, were dead. They had turned on one another due to personal squabbles and killed one another.
As various expressions of shock reverberated across the hall, the emperor himself was silent, calm.
"What is Kailen Darkhaven doing?" he asked.
The feed switched.
"He’s on a beach enjoying snacks?"
A glint flashed through the emperor’s eyes. "Either this fellow is clueless or he is extremely prepared and is probably cooking up something."
"Your Majesty, Kailen Darkhaven is saying something."
The emperor leaned in and listened to what Kailen Darkhaven was saying.
"Hopefully, the emperor of the Karabi Empire will understand my reasons for rejecting his offer and not attack. If he does make a move, I’m screwed."
Kailen’s words made the emperor sigh. "So he’s clueless, huh. He isn’t preparing anything. He’s just leaving things to chance. I see."
One of the princes nodded, but said something.
"But father, don’t you think the deaths of the assassins are too unnatural? A moment ago, they were embarking on a mission, then suddenly they turned on one another."
Everyone in the room nodded.
The emperor’s eyes glinted, then he turned to one of the officials, a Black Flask alchemist.
"Do you know of any poison that can lead to what happened between the assassins?"
"No, majesty. I don’t think a poison like that exists. Also, there were no visible signs of any poison taking effect."
No one doubted the words of the official.
He was one of the renowned rank 7 Black Flask Alchemists, not just in the empire but among the surrounding Empires. Since he confirmed poisons were not involved, the possibility of another empire sending a black flask alchemist to do this had been ruled out. It had already been ruled out that Kailen Darkhaven had nothing to do with it, even though he was a renowned rank 7 Black Flask alchemist. Plus, all clues of a poison being involved had been ruled out.
This was not a poison act.
"The hearts of sentient beings can be complex. They had scuffles among each other they had buried for a long time, and chaos broke out among them at the wrong time," the Black Flask Alchemist official added.
Everyone in the room nodded.
"Let’s observe the situation and see how the other empires approach him too before we decide anything," the emperor said. "We can’t be hasty again. We just lost the black corps assassins. At the end of the day, even if we don’t act, he will most likely reject the offers of the other empires, and it will lead to his death."
Everyone nodded to the emperor’s words.
At the moment, the satellite feed that connected to Kailen Darkhaven had been interrupted all of a sudden.
"Official Calum, did you not plant the monitoring device well?" one official spoke.
The envoy replied, "I did. He didn’t see or suspect anything either."
"It’s not his fault." A machine race official in the room scanned the surveillance systems. "It’s an interruption on our end, possibly a malfunction."
"Then, we need to let our spies in the other empires monitor the situation and report to us," the emperor said.
**
Kailen nodded.
Everything had happened just how he wanted it to.
They didn’t suspect anything.
From him acting like he didn’t know it when the envoy planted the monitoring device to the current outcome, it was perfect. He has considered everything from all angles, their contingencies, thought patterns, officials, before he acted. They thought he was prey. That was good. They had no idea he was playing chess.
They were not stupid. He had just outplayed them.
"You should really star in a movie, kid." The time Dilation Artifact hovered around him. "To use their own monitoring device to make such bullshit statements flatly and make the emperor think you are leaving things to chance. Heh. I couldn’t stop laughing."
"Movie huh, maybe after I have all the time in the world," Kailen chuckled lightly.
"My Lord."
Hound 3 appeared before Kailen.
"Excellent work messing with their surveillance system, hound 3," Kailen said.
"You flatter me my Lord. It’s an honor," the shadow hound replied.
"Keep doing as instructed." A glint flashed through Kailen’s eyes.
The shadow hound disappeared.
