He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact-Chapter 569: (Edited) . Shithole
"I need to focus on breaking into the universe level as soon as I can. If universe level vimodials somehow manage to attack out of nowhere, myself and my loved ones will be helpless. It will be stupid to think I can rely on my influence or the backing of the Supremes. If a threat too difficult to face appears, everyone will think of protecting themselves first, even those powerhouses at the peak of the universe included. Personal strength is ultimate," Kailen mused to himself.
He remembered how helpless those awakeners at the Frontlines of the Edlath Empire were when he appeared.
Their fates were literally in the hands of the vimodials until he appeared. When he appeared, they survived because of him. This meant that their fates were in his hands too.
The strong decided the fate of the weak. And Kailen didn’t want anyone to decide his fate or that of his loved ones.
He wanted to have his fate in his hands.
He didn’t want to survive because someone decided he should. He didn’t want to live because someone made a decision to save him.
It was dangerous. It was a life of uncertainty and lack of safety. He could not raise the family he and Arrie had decided to raise unless every potential threat to him and her future was dealt with. To do that, he needed strength. At least, he had to rise to a point where nothing in the universe could pose even a tiny risk to him, to a point where if there was such a risk, he could eliminate them. A risk like the vimodials.
He didn’t want his children to grow up feeling anxious, unsafe, and unprotected all the time.
He wanted to raise them in a world where he could protect them, and nothing could be a threat to them.
So he could not afford to be weak. He had to stand at the peak. Not in the future. But as soon as possible. This was not some fantasy where danger would be patient till he was strong enough to handle it. Life was full of unexpected situations.
Kailen was currently in his villa at the low tier Civilisation HQ of the universe alliance.
He had left the virtual universe with Arrie shortly after their time together. Arrie had returned to the academy.
Kailen sent thought transmissions to those of his shadow creatures across the planet of his residence. He told them to handle any emergencies in his absence when he was not around.
By the time he leaves the pocket world, he needs to be at least at the rank 7 supreme stage dao level, or if it is possible, he should break into the universe level.
With these thoughts, Kailen disappeared into the pocket world.

Kailen woke up in a dimly lit hall.
A stench permeated his nose.
"A simulation? This one is new," he thought.
He checked himself.
"Still me, still an awakener, rank 4 supreme stage dao level. But, affinities sealed, alchemy knowledge and experience somehow unavailable. The same applies for runesmithery and spiritual power gone too," Kailen thought. "Just me, my elemental mirroring, and the law of space. Why do I have a feeling that this simulation will be one of the most gruesome ones so far? Let’s scan our surroundings."
His eyes scanned the room better. He was not the only one here. Several individuals at the Dao level. Men, women—elves, Giants, dwarves, humans among other races.
Some were injured, seated in pools of their blood. Others were not, but the expressions on their faces indicated whatever experiences had brought them here had broken them.
Kailen felt a chill.
He relaxed. He scanned the place further. No one was in chains. But the whispers of fear... helplessness and dread... etched on faces.
"Damn... why the hell did this happen to us?"
"To think we’d become war prisoners."
"Sigh. Why did we have to be born into this era?"
"This war has lasted centuries, and still those vimodials are relentless."
"Don’t speak like that. We were just unfortunate to be captured. At least, the alliance has secured a couple of wins and have pushed some Vimodial forces back, right?"
"We should be thinking about how to survive, not the alliance and this fucking war!"
"Survive? How? We’ve been here for months. We can’t leave this hall too. It’s been reinforced with protective runes. Also, that fellow with the law of space tried to open space and escape, but have you forgotten what the castle Lord did? He killed the fellow with a fire law attack the moment he sensed a law usage. It’s like he’s watching us from wherever he is. We are only livestock waiting to be called and feasted on by the Lord of this castle."
"Damn it... damn it... what does a rank 1 universe level vimodial even need our lifeforce for?"
"Isn’t it obvious?" Someone spat in annoyance and dread. "Just to savor our lifeforce."
"When will the next person be dragged to the castle Lord?"
"How can I know? It can happen at any time."
"Bastards. My mother died right in front of me!"
"Someone just died here, and you are thinking of your mother? He just bled to death!"
"This room somehow lacks universe energy."
"It’s probably the work of some runesmithery."
"Universe energy is here. But it’s extremely faint. It’s almost negligible. My wounds cannot even recover because of the lack of universe energy."
"We are all gonna get feasted on like livestock anyway. Why heal your wounds? In my opinion, you are fortunate. At least, your wounds will get you killed before something worse happens to you."
Kailen realized a lot of things from the whispers of these people.
In this simulation, he was in the Olden Era. The olden war had gone on for centuries. But from the conversations, the vimodials were on the favorable side of the war. The universe alliance had only secured a couple of victories against the vimodials.
Also, everyone here was a war prisoner, captured by the rank 1 universe level vimodial for feeding purposes. This person was the owner of this castle they were in. He was most likely the commander who led the vimodial troupe that ended up defeating the army these prisoners were part of.
The worst part was that they could not escape. Apart from the fact there were rank 7 protective runes here, even a space law user had tried tearing space to disappear, but the moment the castle Lord sensed the use of a law, he used the law of fire to kill the fellow before they could even try anything.
"This means he’s at least paying attention to us, even if he’s not watching us all the time," Kailen mused. "Also, a universe level powerhouse will definitely pick up on law fluctuations of Dao level lifeforms even if he does not want to."
"How do I get out of this shithole?" Kailen sighed.
