Chapter 498: Chapter 498

" What do you need, kid?" Jackson sent a thought transmission back to Kailen as he floated towards him.

" Can you use your power to absorb the blood of this fellow and have access to his memories?" Kailen said.

Naturally, he would have captured Fred.

Then, he would have interrogated him with the art of torture for intelligence concerning the vimodial contractors.

But, after observing the universe energy pathways of every single vimodial contractor, Fred included, during the just-ended battle, he realized that they had all been fed with parasitic worms. Any attempt to divulge intelligence would trigger their death. Even with the art of torture, Kailen would not be able to get anything out of the enemy. They would just die without being able to say anything.

Kailen intended to let Jackson Bloodfallen use the special ability of the Bloodfallen Clan to access the memories of Fred for intelligence concerning the enemy. This way, he would take the enemy by surprise.

Jackson figured out what Kailen was planning.

" Sure, kid."

The satellite videos of what happened at HQ base 322 spread across not just the Astral Empire, but across several other frontlines of different empires like wildfire.

Kailen Darkhaven’s methods were really different. He had used tactical ingenuity and overwhelming power to crush the invaders of HQ base 322 in the Astral Empire. Not only did the base not suffer from any casualties, it stood unharmed, not even experiencing a single brunt of the enemy’s attack.

Many felt emotional. They felt like this was what payback on the enemy commander that attacked HQ base 323 a few months ago looked like.

In an extremely eerie zone beyond the Frontlines of the Astral Empire, the sounds of cataclysmic battles were ongoing.

Each clash between the powerhouses could level a solar system to dust.

At this moment, the sounds of battle ceased for a moment.

The chaos seemed to have settled. Several asteroids and uninhabited planets in the region seemed to have been leveled into dust. Asteroids had been broken into pieces from the battle. The asteroids had traces of the destructive energies of the battle still lingering on their destroyed forms.

This was the effect of a battle between supreme stage galactic level lifeforms.

A gnome yawned as he stared at the enemy.

The enemy, a machine race vimodial contractor, stared back at him.

" How the fuck is this gnome so strong?"

The two had been at it for about four months.

" Won’t you give up? All your supporting elites have been killed," the machine race vimodial contractor spoke with irritation in her voice. Her army had slaughtered the army behind this gnome. Even though their battle was currently at a stalemate, it was to the disadvantage of the gnome. Why was this little peanut still not surrendering, so that they could break into empire territory?

The gnome, Little Viper, scoffed.

" You really know how to run your mouth."

The moment Little Viper spoke, a large army suddenly emerged from behind him.

A trace of shock flashed through the eyes of the machine race vimodial contractor.

" How is this possible?" she thought.

Her army, behind her, was equally puzzled. Had they not wiped out the army behind this empire powerhouse? Why did the same army appear again?

" Illusions," she said.

" Your initial army was made of illusions. You are a rank 3 runesmith. It seems you hid your ability well."

The smile on the gnome’s face confirmed her thoughts.

This bastard had been hiding his real army from the start. But for what purpose?

" Since the rune is complete, let’s launch," Little Viper sent a thought transmission to his army. As a matter of fact, these were all elite runesmiths he had trained. Not only were they monstrous combatants, they were also very proficient in runesmithery.

For the attack he knew could wipe out the enemy army, and the opponent he had been fighting at a stalemate with, this rune array was the best option. The illusion army was a delay for his actual army to hide and prepare this rune array to launch a decisive strike against the enemy.

The army nodded as their eyes flickered with ethereal light, including Little Viper himself.

Suddenly, the void seemed to ripple.

The machine race vimodial contractor, Trish, felt a threat encroaching on her.

" It’s a trap," she realized, eyes widening. There was an extremely colossal sword looming above her and her army. It seemed like the army behind the gnome were runesmiths, and the gnome had used the illusion army to buy time for his actual army to prepare this attack.

" Retreat." The moment she spoke, a large sonic wave shot out of her eyes.

The sonic wave shot towards the colossal sword. It was an attempt to buy some time to escape.

At the same time, her battlesuit flickered with teleportation runic light as her figure flickered and she appeared several distances away. Her army retreated too.

Then, the sonic wave came into contact with the colossal rune array sword. The sword came down. The sonic wave collapsed as the sword sliced through it. The sword seemed to have travelled through space. It locked down on Trish. Then, it swept through her and her entire army. A blinding light enveloped everywhere and dying screams rippled everywhere.

When the blinding light disappeared, none of the vimodial contractors remained. The runic sword array had obliterated them completely.

The army, including Little Viper himself, had looks of exhaustion on their faces. The runic sword array was deactivated and the gigantic sword disappeared.

Little Viper sighed.

" Excellent work, everyone."

" The pleasure is ours, your Excellency," the army nodded in unison. It was their honor to serve a rank 7 supreme stage galactic level powerhouse, a man standing at the peak of low-tier civilizations.

Suddenly, a notification popped up before him.

" It seems it was right that we sent this kid to the Frontlines.

With the way the situation at the Frontlines is aggravating, we need more supreme stage galactic level lifeforms to emerge. I look forward to his growth"

A glint of anticipation flashed through his eyes.
