Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 185: Leon’s surprise
Heart pounding, mind racing, tips getting cold; Audrey followed her son to the place.
She was acutely aware of Lake’s suspicious presence behind her and Leon’s curious eyes glancing at her every once in a while.
She wished children could really read the room, but no, their job was to make your life as awkward and weird as it could get.
’I’m sorry, Mikhail, I have to make you seem like you’re bay-talking,’ She apologized mentally.
"Here, Moma; you see it too, right?" Mikhail asked, looking hopefully at Audrey.
Audrey chuckled, glancing at Leon before she turned to face Lake, "Do you see anything?" She questioned, smiling.
She didn’t want to say no to Mikhail yet, just in case Lake managed to see it, somehow. She didn’t want to look crazy while lying.
Lake stared at the two giant trees standing next to each other. He’d known this tree since he was young, and there had never been a gate there; he didn’t put one there, and no one would dare to put it without his order. So, there was no gate there.
However, even after all his convictions, he felt like saying that he saw no gate would be a lie. He felt something as he kept staring at those trees, like a beckoning.
He was no witch, but his wolf senses were sharp, and he could almost see something past a layer or two that a human or any other wolf couldn’t see.
"There’s no gate here, buddy," Leon walked over and squatted in front of Mikhail, placing his hands on his shoulder.
Mikhail frowned, "Moma, tell them; I know you see it, too. Daddy, can’t you see it?" The boy looked devastated.
Audrey quickly carried him off the floor, kissing his cheeks, "Okay, honey; I see the gate too. You see it, too, Leon, right?" She asked Leon, winking at him to play along with her.
She made it look like she wanted her kid to stop sulking, but in a real sense, she was telling the truth because she couldn’t bear to make her child look stupid.
Leon got the drill and nodded, "Of course. Oh, the white gate is so beautiful. Maybe we can go in there one day and see what’s behind the gate. Would you like that, Mikhail?" He asked, smiling at the boy.
Mikhail smiled, "Yes, can we go now, Moma?" He asked, excited.
Audrey looked at Lake, "Do you want to go in, Lake?" She questioned.
Lake slowly shook his head, his eyes not looking away from the trees, "Not yet, Mikhail. But we will someday, I promise," he replied, his face looking serious as he spoke.
Audrey’s heart skipped a beat; Lake’s reply didn’t seem like a joke.
Could he see the gate, too?
Or was he really playing along with her?
She was confused.
"Okay, then, let’s head to the Lake. I want to show Leon the beautiful water," Mikhail wriggled down from Audrey’s hold and held Leon’s hand again, leading him away from the twin trees.
Audrey felt her cheek blush when she heard where Leon was being taken.
Memories of her past times with Lake in the lake surfaced, causing her to become emotional and shy.
"If you don’t want him going there, we can ask them to turn around," Lake spoke beside her.
Audrey shook her head, "No, it’s fine. Let’s go." She said and walked away.
Lake was behind her, noticing how she tried to avoid looking at his face, confirming that she was hiding something from him; there really was a gate there.
"Huh?" Audrey paused as she felt Lake suddenly hold her hand.
She turned her head to look at him but only managed to hold his gaze for a second before looking away.
Lake sighed.
He led her to a tree beside them and gently pushed her back against it.
"Look at me," He said.
Audrey balled her fists as she raised her face to look at him, "You’re being weird, let’s go," She pointed out.
Lake chuckled, his hand coming up beside her face, "No, baby girl; you’re the one being weird." He placed a finger under her chin.
"You did see a gate," He stated, watching her reaction.
Audrey tried her best to remain expressionless, "That’s ridiculous. I was just making my son feel less weird," She lied.
"You’re lying to me again, Audrey. I’ve seen blurry flashes of you in my head, Audrey. Yes, I know you’d say it’s not you because the images are not clear, but I swear it’s you." He stepped closer to her.
"You’ve been mine in the past, Audrey. Something happened, and it tore you away from me. What was that?" He questioned softly.
Audrey gulped. She couldn’t believe Lake was really trying his best to connect the dots without her giving any clues. Give him a month more, and she was sure he would figure out everything.
"This is our first meeting, Lake. Stop trying to make me look like your first lover. If I’m not good enough for you, then just let me go. You’re always comparing - mmph__" She was silenced by Lake’s kiss.
Lake chuckled as he kissed her, pulling her closer in his arms, "You’re a bad liar, Audrey." He whispered.
"I’m not going to believe your lies. Take your time, I’ll wait for you to open up when you’re ready," He kissed her cheek and stepped away from her.
Audrey felt like a kid who was trying to lie to her parents about something they already knew about. She felt stupid.
But, maybe this was good. Maybe she was never meant to be the one to tell him everything; it seems like he is supposed to be the one to remember everything by himself.
That would save her a lot of stress; that way, she wouldn’t be going against the spirits and whatever by telling him, and in the end, she would get to be together with him without consequences.
"Run!!!! Run! A wolf! Run!" Leon’s voice echoed from the distance, alerting them of his arrival.
Lake scoffed, "Chicken," He muttered.
Audrey smiled but suddenly wiped the smile off her face, "Wait, we have a problem," she held Lake’s arm.
"How? It’s just a wolf, probably someone out for a run," he shrugged.
Audrey shook her head, "No, you don’t understand. How do we react? Scared? Should we run, too? Faint to make it look real? He doesn’t know about us, how do we explain it?" She panicked.
Lake smirked, "I’m jealous. Don’t worry about him that much. He came to my pack, and he was bound to find out one day," He suddenly kissed her, a deep and slow tongue kiss.
He backed her up to a tree again, his hand sliding down between her legs; their breaths turned hot and heavy as they mingled together, his tongue dominating hers, rolling around hers in a slow but sweet manner.
"Lake..." Audrey called, breathless and horny.
"You shouldn’t worry about other men, Kitten. Worry only about me," He lowered his mouth to her neck, right to her moon tattoo by the side of her neck, right where his mark would go.
"Ah..." Audrey moaned as Lake’s teeth grazed her soft, delicate skin, the feeling sent warm tingles spreading down her spine and pussy like an electric current, channeling all her focus to how his tongue, teeth, and lips moved on her skin.
"I’ll mark you, Audrey. One day," He whispered and kissed her lips again, sucking her tongue into his mouth like a sweet candy.
"There’s a wolf! Audrey! Audrey! A wolf’s got Mikhail!" Leon ran his way back to Lake and Audrey, but what he saw shocked him more than the wolf that took Mikhail.
He stood there, mortified and shocked as he stared at Lake and Audrey sucking the life out of each other’s mouths.
"A-Audrey?" He called in a quiet, defeated voice.
Lake slowly withdrew his lips from Audrey’s, smirking at her, proud of his actions.
Audrey gently pushed him away from her, but she didn’t look one bit apologetic.
"Leon -"
"Are fucking crazy?! I’m right here screaming my fucking lungs out about your son being taken by a wolf, and you’re here kissing a -"
A loud angry growl. A leap. A thud.
Leon’s back hit the ground ground in the hardest way ever, his heart threatened to jump out of his chest, and his pants got soaked from fear.
He stared up at the snarling black wolf above him, the wolf’s large paw covered his whole chest as it pressed him down to the ground.
"Wolf..." he whispered with trembling lips as he stared into the glowing yellow eyes; his limbs visibly started to tremble as if he was having a convulsion.
"Hey, it’s okay, let him go. Please," Audrey came over and caressed the wolf’s head.
With a low growl, Lake’s wolf moved off of Leon’s body.
"Come on, friend, it’s nothing," She held Leon’s trembling hands and helped him off the floor.
Leon didn’t dare move away from Audrey when the wolf was still standing there, glaring at him with its angry and scary eyes.
"Ah!" Leon gasped and hugged Audrey from behind as he heard another growl behind him.
He dared to look and what he saw almost took his remaining breaths away.
Mikhail comfortably sat on the back of the first wolf he’d seen, riding it like a horse.
"Moma, look who I found!" Mikhail jumped down from the wolf and ran over to his mother.
"Woah! Daddy!" He immediately diverted and went to hug Lake’s wolf.
Watching everything took Leon one step closer to his death.
Audrey sighed and walked over to the wolf that had brought Mikhail back, "Leon, this Sebastian," He touched the wolf’s head and then pointed at Lake’s wolf, "And that’s, Regal, Lake’s wolf," She introduced.
Leon was frozen in place, his tongue suddenly dry and lapped against the roof of his mouth.
Sebastian was about to move forward to Leon but the next thing they heard was a thud; Leon had finally fainted.
"Great," Audrey muttered as she walked over to her friend.
