Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 179: Intentional Accident
"So, that’s how the contract was transferred to me. I intend to expand the reach out, possibly as your partner, Mr. Aloha. Your company is second to none; I’m offering nothing but more value; I’d be glad if my request is considered," A man sat in front of Lake, smiling professionally.
Lake heard only 2% of what the man had said, 98% of his attention was directed at Audrey’s hand that was currently caressing between his legs while she kept an innocent face and listened to what the man was saying.
"He’s done talking, Mr. Aloha; you should give him a response," Audrey spoke bestie him.
Lake suddenly cleared his throat, took his hand under the table, and placed it over Audrey’s. He took a deep breath and tried to remember every word the man had said to him.
He couldn’t.
All he knew was that everyone he met tonight wanted to work with him, so he replied in the most sensible way anyone would, "I’ve heard you, Mr. Collins. You will receive an email from the company tomorrow," He replied in a calm voice.
Mr. Collins smiled happily, "Thank you, Mr. Aloha, I appreciate your consideration. Cheers to our new partnership," He lifted his glass to Lake.
Lake nodded and climbed his glasses with him.
After a few sips, Mr. Collins stood and excused himself, giving Lake and his date some privacy.
Lake immediately turned to Audrey and held her hands, "You’re trying to make me lose my mind," He whispered.
Audrey blinked, "I’m horny... I want you. Let’s go home," She leaned closer and whispered.
Lake cursed under his breath, clenching his jaw, "Audrey..." He called huskily and shut his eyes.
"I have one more person to attend to. I promise we’ll leave after that," He said calmly.
He wanted to leave, too; he wanted her just as much as she wanted him. The longing was getting unbearable for both of them.
Audrey frowned, "So, your business is more important than my pussy - mph!" She was silenced with a kiss.
She loved it.
She was about to lean closer when Lake pulled away from her, his finger on her lips, "Don’t be so loud, Kitten. People might hear," He warned but his darkening eyes exposed that he loved it.
Audrey smiled, "Fine. Go do your business, I’ll be right here," She drummed her finger on the table.
Lake sighed and slowly left her hand, "I’ll be back in five minutes," He raised his hand to show her his five fingers.
Audrey chuckled and nodded, "Fine, go already," She pushed his chest.
Lake nodded and reluctantly left.
Audrey picked up her wineglass and swirled the wine inside it, casually staring around the hall.
"I see you’ve succeeded in making him want you," Melody sat herself on the chair Lake had previously occupied.
Audrey didn’t flinch; she kept swirling her wine and looking around the hall as she replied, "Yes."
Melody gritted her teeth, "I know what you did. You used your lame magic to force him to love you. There is no way he could ever want someone like you," She drew her chair closer and placed her hand in front of Audrey on the table.
Audrey smirked; she sipped her wine before turning to smile at Melody.
"Excuse me, sir," She waved to a man who was walking past their table.
The man stopped, walking over to them. "Good evening, ladies, how may I help you?" He asked calmly.
Audrey leaned over to Melody and whispered, "Ask him which of us he thinks is better," She smiled sweetly and reclined back to her chair.
Melody scoffed, "You’ll regret it," She flung her hair back and turned to the man, flashing him her sweetest smile.
"If you don’t mind, dear sir; I and my friend -"
"She’d not my friend. She’s currently planning to kill me," Audrey interrupted with an expressionless face.
Melody laughed nervously, "Pay her no heed, she loves making dark jokes," She said to the man.
The man chuckled, "It’s alright, I have a friend like that, too. It’s good to have people with dark humor; they’re actually the kindest people," He spoke clearly.
Melody covered her anger up with a smile, "She is indeed kind," she said. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"What was your question, young lady?" The man asked, looking behind him as if he was checking for someone.
Melody cleared her throat, "Well, I was wondering; she and I were just having a friendly banter, and we wanted an external person to be the judge. Who do you think is better looking? I mean, someone who looks like she could make a man fall head over heels for her," she asked and straightened herself on the chair, giving the man a seductive look.
The man smiled, "Oh, thus us common amongst females, always arguing about looks," He chuckled, scratching the back of his head as his eyes left Melody to look at Audrey.
"Since you’re both friends, u believe no one is going to get hurt by my judgment, right?" He asked.
Melody crossed her legs together, "Don’t worry, she wouldn’t mind," She gave Audrey a secret glare.
The man cleared his throat, "Her.’ He pointed at Audrey.
Audrey smiled, sipping her wine again
Melody frowned but suddenly smiled, "Ah, I get it. You mean she’s the ugly one, right? It’s okay, Audrey, there’s always someone who would love you with your ugly looks," She chuckled in mockery.
The man looked confused, "Ugly? No, no. There’s nothing ugly about her. I meant that she was the beautiful one whine you’re the ugly one: according to what you asked me. There’s nothing a man wouldn’t love about her, she looks like a goddess," He confessed.
"I am," Audrey stood and poured the man a glass of wine and gave it to him, "Cheers to choosing wisely," She smiled.
The man returned her smile, clinking his glasses with hers, "Thank you, gorgeous," He bowed and left.
Melody was fuming, "You bi -"
"I wouldn’t say that if I were you. Seems like you never learn," She placed her empty wineglass on the table.
"Cheer up, Melody. There’s always a loser out there for you," She tucked Melody’s hair behind her ear, leaned down, and whispered, "I’ve passed this stage, Melody. You’re only still here because you’re my entertainment, but, don’t cross the line. I won’t kill you, I’ll only strip you of your wolf," She patted Melody’s hair and walked away from her in her elegant steps.
"Ugh!" Melody groaned in anger.
She had never faced someone as dangerous as Audrey. She feared her; she knew there was a lot more Audrey could do but was holding back because ’She was her entertainment.’
Melody felt defeated; she should have found out when Laken was going to Paris and stopped him; that way, he would never have met Audrey.
She was almost on the verge of manipulating him to make him. She was the only female that he allowed to be near him. Even though it was only when he was going to an event, she believed that a time would come when he would let her into his bedroom.
Now, she felt kicked out and abandoned.
She was never known to be a loser. She still saw hope; as long as Lake hadn’t marked Audrey, there was a chance that she could seduce him before that happened.
If that happens, it would t matter if Audrey was the greatest witch in history; all that would matter was Lake’s final choice, and she was going to be his final choice.
Audrey wanted some air so she went out to the balcony, leaning her elbow on the balustrade.
"Waiting for your man?" Caro asked behind Audrey.
Audrey turned to face her, "Yeah. You left your friends?" She smiled at her.
"No, she didn’t," Lora pushed the door open and walked in, Rebecca trailing behind her.
"Well, we’ll give it to her; she did try to escape us, but nothing misses our eyes," She narrowed her eyes at Caro.
Caro sighed, "And here I thought I’d lost them," She shook her head.
"We might have been a little distracted haunting men, but we see you... we see you," Rebecca placed a hand around Caro’s neck.
Audrey smiled, "How unfortunate, don’t you think?" She asked Caro.
"Very. I thought I’d get to speak to you alone," Caro relied.
"Pfft! Ditching us for a new friend? Not happening," Lora scoffed.
Caro rolled her eyes, "Please, save me from your boring voice," She said.
Lora was about to reply when someone else walked into the balcony.
"What the fuck?! She’s holding a fucking gun," Rebecca shouted and went to hide behind Audrey.
Everyone stared at Melody with fear written all over their pale face, except Audrey, of course.
"What do you think you’re doing?" Audrey asked calmly.
"What does it look like I’m doing?" Melody sneered.
Audrey shrugged, "Don’t know unless you tell me," She crossed her hands over her chest.
"Please don’t get cocky with her, she has a gun now," Lora pleaded beside Audrey.
Melody scoffed, "What the bitch said. You better watch your attitude; I wouldn’t mind putting a bullet in your heart, Audrey; let’s see how he’d want you if you’re dead," She threatened.
"That’s true. He wouldn’t want me if I’m dead. So can you not shoot me?" Audrey asked with a smile.
Melody laughed humorlessly. "Don’t worry, I’m not killing you. I need you alone to watch him love me," She said and suddenly turned the gun to Lora, having noticed she was the softest one.
"Oh, no, no, please, don’t shoot me. I’m begging," Her voice shook as she spoke.
"Shoot? No. I’ll only shoot if you don’t do what I ask you to do." Melody smiled evilly.
Lora nodded vigorously. "I promise, I’ll do whatever you want, don’t shoot me," Lora cried.
Other girls held each other, shaking in fear and hoping it didn’t get to their turn.
"So what’s the deal, Melody? You’re taking much of our girl time with your baseless drama," Audrey faked a bored yawn.
It triggered Melody’s anger, "You idiot, you don’t know when to stop, huh? Don’t worry, we’ll awe how he looks at you when he learns you pushed someone off the balcony," She cocked the gun, causing the three women to gasp in horror.
"Oh, I should gasp too," She put her hand over her mouth and gasped, "Happy? Effect enough?" She couldn’t help chuckling.
Melody ignored her and looked at the other two women, "Audrey pushed Lora off the balcony, right?" She faced them with the gun.
"Oh, please, why are you doing this?" Lora questioned.
Audrey placed her hand on Lora’s shoulder, "Don’t worry, just say yes and let her get over with it," By touching Lora, she let her see just a little bit of what she was capable of doing.
Rebecca was surprised when Lira straightened and nodded, "Yes, Audrey pushed Lora off the balcony." She said.
"What?" Rebecca and Lora asked at the same time
Melody smiled in satisfaction.
"Good, now jump off the fucking balcony, Lora," She pressed the gun behind Lora’s neck.
Lora held the balustrade, hands shaking, "P-please, d-dont do this, I’m begging," She cried, sniffling her nose.
"Fucking jump!" She shouted angrily and forcefully pushed Lora off the balcony.
The girl gasped, mortified.
Melody smiled happily, "Good. Now, it’s time to announce the intentional accident," Melody hid her gun in her bag and ran out of the balcony.
"Somebody help! Audrey has pushed a woman off a balcony!" Melody screamed as she ran back inside the hall.
