Audrey woke up to the sun rays shining down on her face through the leaves.

She smiled to herself as she opened her eyes and stared up at the colorful leaves above her.

After speaking with Lake last night, she wanted to ask him about Melody but she decided to use her time wisely, so, when Lake asked her to sleep in his room, she insisted on sleeping in her room, and when she was sure that he had fallen asleep, she left the house and ran into the forests.

She had wanted to get answers from her statue, but when she got inside the garden last night, she was surprised to discover that the statue no longer responded to her. She had stood in front of it for a long time, questioning it, but she received no response; she couldn’t even sense the presence of the statue, as if it were dead.

When she grew very sleepy, she went under a tree and lay on the soft grass, drifting off to sleep as the cool breeze whooshed over her body.

’I see you’ve finally woken up.’ Audrey was admiring the beautiful view of the whole place when she suddenly heard the statue speak to her in its usual serene voice.

She immediately snapped her head toward the statue and smiled, "And here I was, already planning how to pull you down and replace you with a functional one." She joked.

She felt a mild wind ruffle her curly hair, and she knew who the culprit was. "Good morning, Catherine. Sleep well?" She questioned as she stood from the soft grasses.

’I never sleep.’ The statue said.

Audrey scoffed as she approached the statue, her eyes admiring the beautiful view of the shimmering water. "Yeah, you don’t sleep, but you pretend to sleep when people need your help, right? You ignored me last night. Why?" She climbed the grotto and stood in front of the statue.

’You were talking gibberish, Audrey. I do not communicate with half-conscious people, I needed you to sleep and clear your head before we could properly talk.’ The statue said.

Audrey sighed; she was indeed very sleepy by the time she reached the secret garden. "Well, it’s good you heard everything I asked. You can speak to me now. I no longer want to be away from Lake; tell me how to break the dumb spell. Everyone got their happily ever after, and I need mine, too." She lowered herself onto a smooth rock at the foot of the statue.

’It’s very complicated, Audrey. I never thought I’d see you back here asking to get back with him. What you’re asking for is very dangerous, Audrey. Are you willing to face whatever consequences would come out of it?’ The statue asked softly.

Audrey nodded. "If I weren’t ready, I wouldn’t have come to you, I would never have even returned with him." She replied.

’Well, I can only help you with words, if you want to dare the curse, then you need to dare it properly,’ The statue said.

Audrey furrowed her brows, "I’m listening," She used her powers to make three small stones float in front of her as she listened to the statue.

’Technically, you can have sex with Lake, the curse only said not to mate, not -’

"Wait," Audrey suddenly sprang up from the rock she was sitting on, the three small stones falling to the ground as she removed her focus from them; she looked up at the statue.

"Are you telling me that all this while I’ve been tormenting myself and Lake, I could have given in? Pleasured him?" Her face was calm but her tone was angry.

"That’s correct," Tbe statue replied.

Audrey laughed humorlessly, shaking her head, "Before I left the Pack, I came to you, why didn’t you ever tell me something like this? You let me go, you let me walk away from his life, you let us both suffer, even our son had to grow up without a father," She breathed harshly from anger, the wind picking up with her emotions and blowing her hair around.

’It was for your own good, Audrey. If you stayed, he wouldn’t have recognized you, and you would have made him hate you more. He would wake up and not know how he felt about you, his emotions would be everywhere, and in the end, he might end up dying from the forced proximity and unknown longing; you would have killed him, Audrey, or don’t you see signs when you try to get intimate with him?’ The statue asked.

Audrey paused and sighed, "That is true... then why do you advise me to sleep with him?" She paused a brow.

’Because those are symptoms that were placed to stop you both from mating properly, they knew that if you succeed in making him remember or want you, getting him to bed you would be very easy, and when he does, it will be inevitable to stop him from marking you,’ The statue informed.

The statue didn’t reply; it was done conversion with Audrey; there was nothing else to say until Audrey returned...which would be quite soon.

It was almost mid-noon; what was she going to tell Lake she was doing inside the forest? Everyone else would know where she went to, but Lake must be so worried by now.

She quickly walked away from the two huge trees that mysteriously hid her secret garden.

She was about to walk past another tree when a hand slid out from the front of the tree and snatched her toward the tree.

"Ah," Audrey gasped in shock; her mind was so preoccupied with Lake that she didn’t sense that someone was behind the tree.

However, when she looked up at the person who had dragged her to the tree, a slow smile played on her lips even though the person had no single smile on their face.

"You think it’s funny?" Lake asked in a low tone.

Audrey shook her head, "No..." She raised her hand to his face, "I think you’re sexy, Alpha," Seduction was her new goal.

Lake frowned, taking Audrey’s hand away from his face but didn’t release it.

"Quit playing around, Audrey, where did you go?" He asked seriously.

Audrey sighed, "I’m sorry, for leaving without telling you, I just wanted to go for a morning -"

"Morning run? Your scent wasn’t fresh in your room when I went to check for you... are you lying to me?" His deep voice caused Audrey to rub her thighs together.

Audrey nodded, "And what are you going to do about it?" She whispered beside his ear, sensually biting his ear lobe.

Lake gritted his teeth, his hand tightening on her wrist.

"Audrey, stop what you’re doing. I’m trying to come to terms that you’re safe and not lost or killed, but you’re not listening to my words," Lake frowned, staring at Audrey’s seductive face.

Audrey traced her finger along his chest, "Relax, Alpha, I heard your Pack is the strongest there is, there’s no way a rogue would slip in, and your members are so kind, they’d never hurt me. That said... what are you going to do about my arousal? Seems like in not the only one who wants it," her hand went between his legs, palming his growing erection.

Lake growled and removed her hand, "Stop torturing me, Audrey. I know what you’re doing. Audrey chuckled, "I’m just starting," She kissed his lips and stepped away from him just at the moment Melody arrived.

"Let’s go," Lake said and walked over to Audrey; he took her hand and left the scene, leaving Melody fuming with jealousy.
