Chapter 565 – You Made Her Cry

No one replied.

Sira reached forward, patting Lux’s shoulder once. "We’ll stop him before that."

Lux didn’t answer.

Because deep down?

He wasn’t sure with how fast things were changing.

And not with that voice still echoing in his ears.

"You made her cry."

The bastard cared.

Which meant...

Which meant Lylith wasn’t just a pawn.

She was part of Zoltarin’s web.

Maybe even the key to it.

Lux’s knuckles whitened on the steering wheel.

The car was quiet. Ely didn’t know what to say. The weight in the air pressed down hard. Infernal tension, faint static humming around Lux like even the mortal world couldn’t quite contain his fury anymore.

Sira leaned her head back, golden eyes watching him sideways. "You’re doing the thing again."

"What thing?" he muttered.

"The thing where you pretend you’re thinking logically but you’re actually about to declare war."

Lux exhaled slowly. The wheel creaked under his grip.

"I need to make my move..." he said, voice low and final.

The engine roared to life like it felt his resolve. The car shot forward, spitting gravel behind it as the infernal sigils on the dash flared with heat.

As the tires screamed toward the lonely road toward his mansion, Lux tilted his head.

"Summon."

The command wasn’t loud. But the effect? Immediate.

[System Notification: Summoning Active]

[Beast Contract Accepted: HELLHOUNDS OF GREED (X2)]

[Name: Dracok – Lv. 99 (A-Rank)]

[Name: Mournfang – Lv. 97 (A-Rank)]

[Status: BOUND TO Lux Vaelthorn, ELITE GUARDIAN, ENFORCER CLASS]

[Target Assignment: Pending.]

Flames burst in twin streaks along the sides of the road. The asphalt cracked. Heat warped the air.

And then, two monstrous hellhounds emerged from reality’s seams.

Massive. Muscled. Each one larger than a warhorse, with obsidian fur burning at the tips like smoldering embers. Golden infernal collars gleamed around their necks, inscribed with Greed runes that pulsed in time with Lux’s heartbeat.

Their eyes glowed gold-red. No barking. Just that deep, guttural growl of barely restrained violence.

Lux didn’t even flinch.

"Find Lylith Seravelle," he ordered quietly. "And bring her circlet. Do not kill her. Not here. Not in the mortal realm."

The hounds bowed their heads once in perfect sync.

And vanished.

The road smoked in their wake. Burned claw prints remained for a moment before fizzling.

Sira whistled low. "You’re pissed."

"I am," Lux said. His voice was calm. Too calm. Like a storm before the break.

Ely stared out the window, not speaking.

She was still new to this. Still human, technically. Still figuring out what it meant that the man she liked, was curious about, was also this.

Someone who could summon hellhounds mid-day on Earth like it was just another Tuesday errand.

And yet... she didn’t move away.

The mansion gates opened before they arrived. The infernal sigils carved into the metal glowed in welcome. The whole estate shimmered faintly, cloaked with a veil of shadow and enchantments that kept most mortals from even seeing it.

The car coasted up the long driveway. Silence hung inside.

When Lux stepped out, the air warped around him. His aura was leaking, his Glamour barely holding.

Sira and Ely followed.

Lux turned once. "I need to talk to Lullaby."

"About Eros?" Sira asked.

He nodded.

Sira stretched. "She’s napping."

Lux grunted. "She can nap on me."

Ely blinked. "Wait, what?"

Too late.

Lux was already walking inside. Past the marble foyer, through the velvet-trimmed hallway. His boots echoed. The mansion was silent. Quiet in that eerie, unnatural way infernal estates always were.

He opened the door to the side parlor where Lullaby napped.

The little demon bunny was curled under a blanket.

Lux leaned down.

She murmured something in her sleep.

"Lux... mine..."

He exhaled.

Carefully, he lifted her. She didn’t even wake, just curled into him like a kitten.

"I need your help," he whispered, voice a little rough.

"Mhmm..." she mumbled. "Okay..."

He kissed her temple and walked straight to the portal.

Behind him, Sira and Ely stepped in cautiously.

Sira was already flipping through her tablet, pulling up bounty data.

Ely stayed quiet, absorbing the sight of everything.

She wasn’t afraid. Not exactly. Just... overwhelmed.

Lux used his Portal skill.

The light pulsed.

The world tilted.

And the circle lit gold, then black, then gold again.

Lux held Lullaby tighter.

Then the portal opened.

He didn’t hesitate.

Because if Zoltarin wanted to play power games?

Then Lux would remind the world why Greed built its empire in the first place.

Through deals.

Through contracts.

And through complete, merciless domination.

But first?

He needed something from LustNetwork.

From Eros.

The portal closed behind them with a hiss of air pressure snapping back into place.

They were standing just outside the first gate.

A breeze rustled the trees nearby, carrying the scent of vanilla blossoms, incense smoke, and faint pheromones of passive charm woven into the atmosphere.

Not his charm.

No.

Eros warded his land like a lover warded their secrets... Sweet, seductive, and deadly if touched without permission.

Sira gave an exaggerated sigh and glanced at the path ahead. "Okay... do we need to walk?"

Lux nodded once. "Eros used high-level wards on this place. I can’t bypass it with portal skills."

The gate creaked open with an audible groan, thick vines and obsidian roses pulling aside like curtains sensing his presence. The metal shimmered, showing latent spells dissolving just enough to allow passage.

And yeah... they walked.

One step at a time down the path lined with gemstone lanterns, each glowing soft hues of pink and deep wine red.

Even the beast guarding the second gate, a hulking feline-snake hybrid with gold-tipped fangs, didn’t move as they passed. It just curled deeper into its shadowy alcove like it saw a storm coming and wanted no part of it.

Three royal demons.

Sira of Pride.

Lullaby of Sloth.

Lux of Greed and Lust.

No wonder the beast didn’t try anything.

Inside, it was quiet.

Too quiet.

Then finally...

They reached it.

The glass coffin.

Where Azithra lay.

Still beautiful.

Still asleep.
