Harem app-Chapter 261: Save her
First-person POV - Liam
My perfect routine was suddenly interrupted when I received a telepathic message from Lila.
Up until that moment, our conversations over the past few weeks had been calm, and I believed things were finally improving for both her and Lucia. And, in fact, they were.
I would only find out later that the day before, they had managed to heal Lucia’s sister, Maria, and were already close to returning from the world of the angels.
However, that calm didn’t last.
Her message arrived abruptly, filled with urgency. It was the first time I had ever received a direct mental call from Lila, and it left me completely disoriented.
I had no idea how to respond, or even if responding was possible. The only thing I knew was that she was still alive. I could check that through the app, which gave me a small measure of relief.
Without thinking twice, I left Vanessa behind and ran back into my house, determined to find Lilith. If anyone could give me a clue about what was happening, it was her.
The small demon’s eyes widened as she listened to my story, just as surprised as I was, but she quickly composed herself. She explained that, as the king of the dream race, I possessed an innate ability to transport myself to wherever my women needed me.
Unfortunately, I had only recently ascended to the position of king. I didn’t know how to use most of my abilities yet. I had begun my training with Lilith’s father, but he was unavailable at the moment.
Luckily, the Succubus existed precisely to guide me in situations like this. She was my guide, a mentor for a novice king, created from part of Lilith’s soul and part of the previous king’s soul.
Without hesitation, Lilith placed a warm kiss on the center of my forehead. In that instant, I felt the presence of the Succubus project itself into my mind. Her voice echoed clearly, firm and resolute, immediately grasping the seriousness of the situation.
She could see my memories, so without wasting a single second, she explained that to perform the teleportation, she would need to take control of my body for a few moments.
She also made one crucial detail clear: I could only take three people with me. That was the limit of her power.
The choice wasn’t easy, but there was no time for long deliberation. If powerful enemies awaited us, going alone would be foolish.
I decided to take Zoe, who had already recovered from her broken arm and was eager to return to action.
I also took Jasmin, whose raw strength was among the greatest in the group, and, of course, Lilith herself. No one in the harem understood the workings of the supernatural world better than she did.
"What happened?" Vanessa asked, having followed me.
I didn’t have time to explain everything in detail, so I quickly mentioned that I needed to save Lila.
"I’m sorry, but I have to go. Don’t worry, I promise I’ll be back soon," I said in a serious tone.
Then, I allowed the Succubus to take control of my body and guide the ritual.
A strange pressure coursed through me, as if every cell in my body were being compressed and stretched at the same time, until reality itself shattered before us.
In the blink of an eye, Zoe, Jasmin, Lilith, and I were hurled through the invisible veil that separated worlds.
When I opened my eyes again, I found myself on a rocky plain stretching almost endlessly into the distance. There was little vegetation, only small shrubs and patches of moss clinging to the stones.
"Where is Lila?" I murmured, scanning the area.
Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed the confusion in Zoe’s and Jasmin’s expressions, but I didn’t have a single second to explain anything to them.
Before I could say another word, a loud explosion echoed across the plain.
The blast reverberated through the ground beneath my feet. Without thinking, I sprinted toward the column of black smoke rising in the distance.
When I burst through the haze, the sight before me made my heart race. Lila was standing, barely steady, her silver wings partially spread, her body marked with cuts that glowed with celestial energy. She was fighting with everything she had against another angel, a being with a golden aura, wielding a spear made of pure light.
The clash of their weapons lit the air with blinding flashes, each impact resounding like thunder. I knew that, on her own, she wouldn’t be able to hold out much longer.
"Lila!" I shouted, but my voice was swallowed by the roar of battle.
In the next instant, I saw the enemy angel’s spear break through her defense and thrust toward her.
My heart froze.
Without thinking, I dove into the fight, throwing myself between the radiant blade and her body.
Instinctively, I channeled my power, and a wave of dark, bluish energy erupted from my hands, one of the few new abilities I had managed to master.
The impact sent the angel flying backward, crashing into a distant rock. Lila dropped to her knees, gasping for breath, but alive.
"It’s okay now," I murmured, briefly gripping her shoulder before turning back to face the enemy.
The angel rose again, furious, his wings spread wide like a storm. He charged at me with inhuman speed, but this time I was ready. I dodged the strike and, spinning sharply, drove a kick straight into his chest.
The impact felt like striking molten iron, but the force hurled him away, carving a crater into the ground.
Before he could recover, I extended my hand and invoked the power I had practiced the most during this time, the world of dreams.
After all, it was my strongest ability.
Dark filaments spilled from my arm like ethereal chains, wrapping tightly around the enemy. His movements slowed, his eyes wavered, and an unnatural calm settled over the battlefield.
"Sleep... and never wake before me again."
In that instant, the golden glow surrounding his body faded. The angel dropped to his knees, the spear dissolving into sparks, and then collapsed onto the ground, completely subdued, trapped in a deep and inescapable dream.
Silence returned to the plain, broken only by Lila’s heavy breathing and the wind whispering through the rocks.
I turned back to her and knelt at her side.
"I’m sorry I took so long. But now that I’m here, everything will be fine."
