Chapter 224: Did you miss me too much?

First person POV - Liam.

Not counting the girls who were away, I managed to meet up with all of them, more than once, in my first two weeks back. All except one: Seraphina.

I’d even had time to chat briefly with Lucas before, but I couldn’t find time with that beautiful and rigid woman. At least not until that day.

The main reason was that she was still very busy with the Mattau case. In particular, the lawsuits against Paul Mattau and Zack Mattau.

I wanted to help her more with that mission, but Helena insisted on not telling me much about how things were going. Besides, there were so many things to deal with that I ended up letting it slide.

But as far as I knew, things were going well, and Helena, Sophia, and Seraphina were working well together to handle that family.

Anyway, if I couldn’t be very useful in practical terms, I could at least help ease the woman’s workload and help her relax a bit more.

That day, I arrived early at her house and rang the doorbell, but Seraphina hadn’t returned from the office yet, so Lucas was the one who answered.

When I rang the doorbell, the door opened almost immediately, and I was greeted by Lucas with that bright smile and usual energy.

"Liam! Finally!" He practically jumped on me, as if I were an older brother returning from a trip. "I thought you’d forgotten about us."

I rolled my eyes, pulling him into a quick hug. "Forget you? Impossible."

He laughed and pulled me inside, excited as always. While we played on the couch, he started talking about school, until at a certain point, he admitted in a frustrated tone:

"Actually, my grades have dropped a bit... I just can’t concentrate in class lately."

"What happened? Did you start staying up all night playing video games?" I joked, but honestly, I couldn’t imagine that being the case. After all, Lucas was a very responsible kid.

"No, it’s not that..." Lucas blushed softly. "Actually, it’s a girl... she won’t leave my head," he commented quietly.

My eyes lit up when I heard that. I didn’t expect it to be a love story. I immediately started asking questions about the girls, which Lucas answered reluctantly.

Soon, I noticed that he was clearly completely in love with a girl from his school named Abby. The problem was that she was two years older than Lucas, so it wouldn’t be easy to approach her.

And because he spent all his time thinking about her, the poor kid couldn’t concentrate in class at all anymore.

But I was going to help him. So I smiled confidently:

"Don’t worry, you asked the right person for help. Relax, I’ll help you. Both with your grades and with the girl."

His eyes sparkled as if I’d offered him the key to the universe.

"To start, let’s review the subjects you missed because you couldn’t pay attention. Later, we can talk more about Abby."

It was already late at night when Seraphina came home from work. She had her usual serious expression, but a gentle smile appeared on her face when she saw me.

Then her eyes rested on Lucas, who was surrounded by notebooks, focused on his studies.

When he noticed his aunt had returned, the boy naturally dropped his notebooks and ran over to hug her.

Lucas excitedly talked about how I had helped him study and told Seraphina all about his day. After that, we put him to bed.

Seraphina mentioned that one of his teachers had told her Lucas was having some trouble at school, and she thanked me for helping him with that.

Back in the kitchen, I opened a bottle of wine I’d bought earlier, while Seraphina slipped off her shoes and discreetly massaged her feet.

"You look exhausted," I commented, pouring two glasses.

She sighed, accepting the drink. "It’s just the same as always. You don’t need to worry."

As usual, she preferred to act strong rather than admit she was tired. That said, the only thing I could do for the moment was help her relax a little.

We talked softly for about an hour as we enjoyed our wine. In the end, Seraphina went to bed, while I headed over to Sophia’s place.

I had promised I’d fuck her until she passed out that night.

In the following days, my routine gained a new rhythm. In the morning, I met up with one or another of my girlfriends, taking advantage of the free time. I had stopped working for Vanessa because it was no longer necessary, so I had much more free time.

In the late afternoon, I stopped by Seraphina’s house to review subjects with Lucas and, incidentally, give some advice on how to impress his secret crush.

To the boy’s luck, he was handsome and had no shyness at all. That said, the first thing he needed was an excuse to talk to Abby.

After that, it would be a bit complicated due to the age difference, but I gave him the best tips I could.

I continued with this routine for some more time. Then, just two weeks later, Lucas had a smile from ear to ear on his face.

"I did it!" he shouted, his face red with excitement. "I managed to kiss her!"

I raised an eyebrow, smiling. Honestly, I was a bit surprised at how well things were going for Lucas, but I couldn’t help but be happy for him.

Besides, the boy himself admitted that he was managing to concentrate much better in classes, meaning everything was going perfectly.

And, to tell the truth, Abby even invited him to watch a movie with her the next day. Of course, I couldn’t leave the kid hanging, so I promised to take him to the girl’s house.

That day, Seraphina arrived really late and tired, so Lucas had already gone to sleep. I barely spoke, and she went to sleep too.

Because of that, I forgot to tell the woman that I would drop Lucas off at Abby’s house. The next day, I took Lucas to the girl’s house by Uber and even met Abby’s mother. After exchanging a few words, I left the little boy there.

With the free time, I decided to tidy up Seraphina’s house. I washed the accumulated dishes, straightened up the living room, and even organized some papers scattered on the table.

And, to my surprise, that day she arrived much earlier than usual. She opened the door, clearly expecting to find Lucas, but stopped when she saw the silent and tidy house.

"Lucas... isn’t here?" she asked, frowning slightly.

I smiled sideways. "Today he has a more important commitment," I explained that he was at Abby’s house and would stay there that day.

Lucas had already told his aunt about his crush, so the woman was happy to hear about it.

"Well, I think that would be expected when he was receiving your advice," she commented with a slightly provocative smile.

"What do you mean by that?" I pretended ignorance as I approached her. "Do you think I’m a seductive man?" I gently touched her waist, pulling her close.

"Control yourself," she commented, rolling her eyes. "I still have things to do; I need to organize the house."

"As you prefer, but," I whispered in her ear. "Wouldn’t you rather relax a bit with some wine?"

Her eyes scanned the surroundings, noticing that I had already done all the house cleaning work. Then she licked her lips, clearly remembering the delicious taste of the wine I had bought her as a gift.

"Okay, I think I’ll allow myself this small luxury."
