Harem app-Chapter 152: Waking up from a bad dream
Chapter 152: Waking up from a bad dream
Third person POV
It was only after sleeping for more than 30 hours straight that Marc finally woke up. However, the long period of rest didn’t seem to help his body recover at all.
In fact, he felt an intense pain spread throughout his entire body. His head, in particular, was spinning and aching so badly that he could barely think.
That said, an urgent need overtook him: he needed water.
After sleeping for so long, his body was naturally starting to dehydrate, so the first thing he did was drag himself to the kitchen.
The place was perfectly clean, just as Liam had left it. After all, no one else had been there.
Sophia was at Karen’s house, still shocked by the news she had received, but relieved that Helena was safe and hadn’t suffered any harm.
Zack was obviously out of the country, and the man’s youngest son was still in the hospital, even though he had basically been discharged.
That said, none of these absences were particularly surprising. Marc was used to the fact that his children usually spent more time away from home than inside it.
However, there was one unexpected absence. Where was Charlotte?
Normally, as soon as he woke up, he would be greeted by the pleasant smell of food prepared by the woman. Marc didn’t like having maids or butlers in his house, so almost all of the cooking and cleaning fell to her.
And it was unimaginable that Charlotte would ever neglect her duties as a wife. The only reasonable explanation was that she had gone out for some reason... but why?
As he drank water and slowly started to recover, the memories Lilith had planted in his head began to surface, giving him his answer: Charlotte had gone on a trip with friends.
He vaguely remembered, in something that felt almost like a dream, that he had come home, irritated with that damn boy. Then he encountered his wife, and she had excitedly mentioned some nonsense about a trip. Something with her friends.
He couldn’t remember exactly, it was almost as if the memories were unstable and could disappear at any moment. But he did recall becoming absolutely furious with the woman who dared to try and leave him behind like that.
As usual, he had shouted at her and moved aggressively to hit her. But, from what he could piece together from his muddled memories, he had stumbled over something and fallen to the ground.
That only made him even more furious. Enraged, he had shouted at Charlotte that he would kill her. However, instead of worrying about her injured husband, his wife simply fled.
After that, he had no more memories. He believed he had passed out from the impact.
After all, that was where the faulty memories that Lilith had implanted into his mind ended. Because of that, he believed that nothing significant had happened that night.
More importantly, he was still furious at that mysterious boy who had humiliated him.
At first, he thought of calling his driver and butler. Marc never treated other people well, but he at least recognized the man’s worth.
However, upon trying to call him, Marc received no response. The reason was that Seraphina had already silenced that man and sent him far away.
The only thing he left was a resignation letter. Marc was furious upon seeing that, but decided not to waste time on it. If that useless man no longer wished to have the honor of serving him, then so be it.
It was only then that he began to look at his messages. His intention was to find some other useless employee to do the work of the one who had resigned.
However, upon opening his computer, he was shocked to discover that the world had turned upside down on that day he was unconscious.
He had no idea where all of this had come from, but his company had received numerous lawsuits.
And that wasn’t all...
"Where did all this come from?" Marc muttered to himself, as his gaze sharpened frighteningly.
Clearly, someone had tried to attack him. He didn’t yet know who was responsible for this, but he would undoubtedly make that person pay.
Then, the man who was normally completely incapable of handling his anger became frighteningly calm.
He completely forgot about all the things that were irritating him as his mind focused solely on crushing whoever was getting in his way.
Unlike all other situations, when it came to business, that man’s mind worked like never before.
It was no wonder that, after conspiring to remove his father from the family’s leadership position, he managed to make the Mattau, who were previously considered the weakest of the three families, rapidly rise to power.
At that moment, thanks to a complex network of alliances and agreements, Marc secured a powerful position for his family. He was far from being an incompetent person; in fact, some would even call him a genius.
And if anyone wanted to face him, he would certainly show his claws.

Meanwhile, Eric was waking up in his hospital bed, having just finished the last round of exams before being officially discharged. The doctor only told him that he would need to keep his left arm immobilized for two weeks, but otherwise, he wouldn’t have any major issues.
The truth was, the only reason he had stayed more than a day in the hospital was because his parents had paid generously, and the hospital wanted to show their professionalism and care.
Finally free, the blond boy wondered whether he should head home or not, but he ultimately decided to wander around the city for a while.
Eric was furious and needed time to cool off.
"Those incompetents..."
Everything had gone wrong.
Eric thought angrily about how Helena had managed to escape from the men he had sent after her. Just thinking about the girl who had rejected him made his blood boil.
In a fit of rage, he kicked a can lying on the ground, the metallic clang echoing like a reminder of his frustration.
Even so, he tried to take a deep breath, aware that now was not the time to act impulsively. Eric knew very well that his sister was just waiting for an opportunity to get rid of him the same way she had gotten rid of Zack.
Taking that into account, Eric realized he couldn’t afford to be careless. He needed to stay calm and plan his next steps carefully. He needed a strategy to destroy Sophia.
Besides, there was still the matter of the bet. As proud as he was, Eric decided he would simply pretend it had never happened. Even if it meant swallowing his pride and going back on his word, he understood that lies and manipulation were part of business.
However, he wasn’t about to give up on having Helena for himself. For now, he would choose the safest strategy: to retreat. He would leave Helena alone for a while, but the moment an opportunity arose, he wouldn’t hesitate.

As for her sister, she had stayed at Karen’s house simply out of convenience. That said, she was extremely surprised to be informed that her mother had suddenly gone on a trip.
She wondered if that woman had finally reached her limit, no longer able to stand Marc.
Anyway, as much as Charlotte liked to spoil Sophia, the two weren’t particularly close, and she decided not to think much about it.
What was truly dominating her mind was Liam. She couldn’t stop thinking about how he had risked himself in that way to save Helena. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
And thinking about how strong he was made her extremely wet, with a sublime lust taking over her body.
Her pussy vibrated, remembering how he had fucked her that time with Yasmin. And thinking about the relationship he had with Amelia and Helena, as well as how strong and impressive he was, made an uncontrollable lust take hold of her.
And, inevitably, her hands ended up sliding towards her pussy, lightly touching her clitoris.
Still, she tried to control herself. Taking a deep breath, Sophia wanted to reflect on her next steps. She knew she needed a plan to defeat her brother once and for all, after all, she would never give up her ambition to take the family fortune for herself.
Furthermore, now that that idiot had made such a serious mistake as an attempted kidnapping, she would probably have many more tools at her disposal to achieve her goal.
To begin with, she needed to find concrete evidence of the crimes Eric had committed. Then, she would have to figure out the most efficient way to use that information, after all, it wasn’t so simple to take down someone like him: money could buy many things.
Moreover, her father might get angry if he noticed that she was conspiring against her own brother. So she needed to do everything in a way that wasn’t so obvious.
That said, before anything else, she wanted to talk to Helena. Not only to offer protection but because she wanted the girl by her side. Still, she felt a certain shame and didn’t know how she should bring up the subject.
After all, besides business, she also wanted to talk about more intimate matters..."
