Chapter 104: The challenge for a duel.

I ran to the address Helena had given me, which led me to a small establishment in the most remote and dangerous part of the city. I wasn’t too worried about myself, as I could handle things, but I was concerned to learn that the girl had been coming here to train.

From the outside, I could see a small two-story building. The second floor looked more like a house, so I correctly assumed she lived above her dojo. The first floor had a glass display window, and on the door was a sign announcing that it was a martial arts dojo, though it only operated on weekends.

This made sense, considering that on other days, Zoe already worked as Karen’s bodyguard. It was strange, though, that she still found time to run a business on top of that. It was also odd that she didn’t work as a bodyguard every single day of the year. After all, it wasn’t like Karen stopped being in danger on weekends.

Of course, I wasn’t going to complain about it. In fact, it was good news that she had these days off and still offered training. It gave me a good chance to get closer to her.

I wasn’t entirely sure about Lucia’s plan to use Zoe to get revenge on that bitch Karen, but I was fed up with Karen and wouldn’t miss the opportunity to have Zoe by my side.

In a way, I almost already considered her one of my girls. Though I’d still have to win her over... or maybe not?

As soon as I entered the place, I was surprised by several things.

First, she was wearing clothes I never imagined I’d see her in. She had on a pair of tight mini shorts that accentuated her thick, sensual thighs and clung to her body like a second skin. She also wore a tight long-sleeved shirt that exposed her midriff, revealing her sexy abs.

It wasn’t the most provocative outfit in the world, but it was far sexier than anything I’d ever imagined Zoe wearing.

But compared to the words she spoke as soon as I walked in, the shock of seeing her in those clothes was completely overshadowed. After all, she said:

"Would you grant me the honor of joining your harem?"

I blinked a few times and even pinched myself. But no matter how much I thought about it, I couldn’t figure out where that had come from.

Sure, I had flirted with her, but we had barely kissed. To begin with, I didn’t even know how she had found out about the harem.

That said, all of this could still be explained with one word, or rather, one name: Lilith.

I knew very well that she was good at corrupting and seducing people. She could have done this by pretending to be me using my phone... something she did frequently.

Maybe my little succubus, with Helena’s help, had convinced Zoe. And at this point, all I’d have to do was reap the rewards of their hard work.

Well... that didn’t seem to be the case.

Zoe’s expression didn’t look like someone who was sure of her decision. It didn’t even look like the expression of a woman in love.

At this point, after everything that had happened, I could easily recognize the look of a woman consumed by passion or desire. And neither of those fit this situation.

Not that Zoe hated me, on the contrary, we got along well. But I was sure I hadn’t truly won her heart yet. In fact, I was still a bit far from that. After all, I barely understood her.

So what should I do? Refuse or accept her proposal?

As I pondered the best possible response, I took a few steps forward, closing the distance between me and the beauty before me.

When I was close enough, I kissed her.

She returned the kiss, albeit a bit awkwardly. And, of course, I took advantage of the situation to let my hands explore the sensual curves of her body.

But when our lips parted, I had to give her an answer.

"I would love to have you by my side, but only after I’ve truly won you over. First, I want to understand you. So tell me, what do you really want?"

The girl was surprised for a moment by my response. But not wanting to show any weakness, she took a step forward and replied with a provocative smile.

"I thought you were the type to always follow your desires," she said, glancing down at my crotch but finding nothing there. Then she calmly explained, "Helena said that if I agreed to be part of your harem, you could get rid of the burn scars I have."

"And you believed her?"

I noticed a hint of sadness flash through her eyes for a moment. But she maintained her confidence and explained, "She doesn’t seem like the type to lie about something like that."

I couldn’t help but agree. "Okay, it’s true that I might be able to get rid of the scars," I said, though my tone was tinged with doubt.

I had tested this ability with Lucia some time ago. And it was probably because she knew Zoe had some trauma related to her burns that she came up with this plan.

However, in that case, it was a small burn, and it had just happened. On the other hand, Zoe’s scars seemed very old, and I wasn’t even sure if the ability would work.

"But I can try," I said, stepping closer to her, which filled her eyes with hope. "Let me touch your face," I asked softly.

"Go ahead," Zoe said, looking at me with anticipation as I brought my hand to her left cheek.

I felt a bit of energy drain from me, but the girl’s skin didn’t seem to improve immediately. Not completely, but upon closer inspection, I noticed some subtle changes.

"Honestly, I’m not sure if it made a difference, but I think it did..." I said without much conviction.

The girl didn’t wait for me to finish speaking and immediately went to check her face in the mirror.

However, unlike what I expected, her expression wasn’t one of disappointment but rather surprising happiness. It was almost as if her eyes were shining.

"What did you do?!" she asked excitedly. "How is it possible that it improved so much in just an instant?"

Maybe because she knew her own face so well, she was able to notice even the slightest changes? I wasn’t sure, but it was really good to see her happy.

"Well, all I can say is that it’s magic," I sighed. I really didn’t have a better answer to give her. After all, it was in fact magic.

"I knew Helena wasn’t lying," she said, wiping her eyes lightly, probably clearing away the faint tears that had formed. "And I always knew you weren’t normal."

In the end, she accepted everything easily. If it were me, I probably would have asked more questions, but it was good that she made things easier for my side.

"And can you heal me even more?" she asked, a bit apprehensive.

"Yes," I replied immediately. "I can’t guarantee it’ll be a complete cure, and I can’t do it all in one day, but I can definitely do much more than this."

I had tested this power before, and I knew it had a daily limit. Once, I cut my finger while cooking, and the cut was very deep. I activated my powers and managed to heal the wound, but then the ability stopped working. However, the next day, I was able to continue the healing and make the scar disappear.

I didn’t know if it had to be exactly a day’s interval, but it didn’t matter much.

"You don’t have to do anything extra for me. After all, I like you," I said, stepping closer to her again. "How about this: you give me martial arts lessons every week, and in return, at the end of each session, I’ll give you a massage and heal you bit by bit."

Zoe seemed a bit surprised but insisted that she didn’t need anything more in return. I wanted to help her because she was a good person.

And I wanted to make her my woman by winning her heart, not through some cheap threat. I wanted her absolute love, not just a contract of exchanged favors.

And precisely because I wanted that, I needed, more than anything, to understand who she really was.

So I asked again, "Now that we’ve settled that, could you tell me more about yourself? Why do you hate these scars so much? What do they mean to you?"

The woman hesitated for a few moments, so I took a few calm steps closer to her. But noticing that she wasn’t going to tell me, I decided to try a different approach.

"How about we start with our training? We’ll have several duels, and for each one I win, you’ll have to answer one of my questions."

She hesitated a bit but finally asked, "And for the ones I win?"

"Well, you know you’ll win most of them, so ask for something reasonable," I said, scratching my head.

"Not just most, I’ll win all of them," she replied confidently.

"If you’re so confident, how about this: if you win all the duels, I’ll do anything you ask."

She sighed but agreed.
