Ruan Chanchan didn’t know what to do with so much meat; she simply chopped a part of it and then sent the rest to be sold in the supermarket. Anyway, these ribs were of no use to her as she had enough meat to eat these days but there were many who would find it useful. Other than the ribs, she also put dry rations and water bottles on sale. Since she had lost some points, Ruan Chanchan wanted to gain some right back.

Once she was done, she patted her butt and walked out of the space, right in time to catch Xie Daiyu, who returned with the hind leg of a beast. When the two of them caught one another’s gaze, Ruan Chanchan realised that the mer was looking at her with shock and surprise. He seemed to have been electrocuted and was looking at her like a deer caught in headlights. The two stayed where they were before Xie Daiyu turned around on his feet and bolted out of the cave.

After the things that his mother said to him, Xie Daiyu felt panicked and a bit insecure what if Ruan Chanchan really thought that getting tied up with him was a losing deal for her? He was worried that if he were to stay with her, then one of these days she would suddenly tell him that she wanted to move to Rong Xian’s tribe as it was a better place for her to live and grow.

It was better for the two of them to be away for the time being such that he wouldn’t have to hear such heartbreaking words.

"XIE DAIYU!!!"

Xie Daiyu stiffened when he heard Ruan Chanchan’s scream. He slowed his pace and turned to look behind him and what he saw made his heart tremble. The woman was chasing after him as if he had stolen her ancestor’s grave from her. That speed. That passion. That anger. It was truly terrifying!

Xie Daiyu ended up increasing his pace unconsciously as he ran away from Ruan Chanchan without pausing. There was no other way around it. Ruan Chanchan was running after him as if she was out for his blood. For the first time in his life, Xie Daiyu realised that there could be something that could terrify him out of his mind and that was his freaking wife!

He picked up his pace and ran as fast as he could.

Behind him, when Ruan Chanchan saw that the mer was running even faster, she was so angry that she wished she could bite him to death. Why was he running so fast for? Was she some kind of mad dog who would bite him to death? Annoyed, Ruan Chanchan also increased her pace; at that moment she was really angry and along with the cultivation that she had been doing under Xiao Xi’s insistence, her physique seemed to have gotten better.

She couldn’t exactly match Xie Daiyu’s pace but she could chase after him without getting tired.

Ruan Chanchan was determined to catch Xie Daiyu and Xie Daiyu was determined to not be caught. The two of them, thus, ran around the tribe like little kids playing tag.

"Stop for me!" Ruan Chanchan shouted at the mer. However, Xie Daiyu didn’t stop; instead, he increased his pace and started running even faster as if he was worried that getting any slower would cause him to be caught and dragged back to the cave by Ruan Chanchan. So he only ran even faster.

Ruan Chanchan saw the mer running away from her and cursed him under her breath before pushing herself even further.

However, she was not the only one who was cursing; Shao Xia was also filled with so much anger that she was cursing under her breath. She looked at the woman and the mer who were playing around and felt so angry that blood surged to her throat. She wanted to charge ahead and break up this playful fight but she could not because she had no right to do so!

Shao Yu, who was carrying a basket of mushrooms on his back, followed the gaze of his sister and clicked his tongue when he saw what was happening. He sneered softly and commented, "It seems like Brother Daiyu is really happy with Ruan Chanchan."

Shao Yu hated his sister and he hated his father as well as Xie Daiyu and Ruan Chanchan. Why? The reason was simple. He was still young and had not awakened, which was why he still relied on his sister to bring meat and game back to their family. But ever since his sister broke off her relation with Xie Daiyu, their life style had plummeted gravely.

In the past, Xie Daiyu would bring meat and fish to their cave but ever since he broke it off with his sister, he never came to see him and his father. Back when Xie Daiyu was still dating his sister, he was really respectful to him and his father and Shao Yu could walk around the tribe with his head held high and a swagger in his feet but nowadays he couldn’t do that. Why? Because he had lost Xie Daiyu’s backing!

With him gone, Shao Yu was no longer treated as the respected brother-in-law of the future chief. Instead, he was often scorned behind his back. His sister too moved out of their family cave and abandoned their family, which in turn led to his father and him being kicked out by the chief to a smaller and much tinier cave where they could hardly spread their legs.

The chief said that it was because Shao Xia was unwilling to take care of their family but he knew that it was the chief’s revenge. That woman was deliberately making things difficult for him and his father but what was even more annoying was that his sister didn’t care that they were suffering. She left them to suffer in silence without standing up for them.
