The primal aura of the four towering beasts heavily weighed down on Adam, their predatory gazes boring through his skin, making him suffocate.

Adam couldn’t help but retreat several steps back out of sheer panic. Terror gripped his heart when he gazed at the titanic beasts before him.

One was a gorilla, radiating an aura of the earth element. Another was a tiger, radiating the aura of the fire element. The elephant gave off the aura of the water element. And finally, an eagle that emitted the aura of the wind element.

All four creatures loomed over Adam, displaying the might of the Mana Core Rank!

Being coldly stared at by these four powerful creatures caused Adam’s heart to sink in fear. He had never been in the presence of so many powerful beings simultaneously.

His back was drenched in cold sweat, and much to his shock, he found that he was completely frozen.

He had never felt such pressure before!

One of the four beasts, the gorilla, lowered its head and gazed at Adam with narrowed eyes.

“So you are the one who’s been causing all this ruckus.” The beast’s booming voice echoed across the plains.

Adam, who was standing right before the gorilla, felt a strong gust of wind blow against him.

“That’s quite the fighting prowess you wield, human,” said the elephant, gazing at the chunks of rocks strewn all around.

Meanwhile, the tiger remained silent, looking at the raven-haired youth with a predatory gaze, seemingly wondering if it should eat him or not.

As for the white eagle, it was not at all interested in the youth. It turned towards the eccentric-looking figure standing in the distance and asked, “Nielk, why did you summon us?”

The next moment, the Joker had teleported before the four beasts. His lips curled into a smirk as he shrugged. “This lad was getting quite cocky, so I thought to show him his place.”

“Is this human a threat to the secret plane?” The tiger’s eyes narrowed as it spoke for the first time, his tone oozing with bloodlust.

This caused Adam to subconsciously shiver as he thought to himself in alarm, Such a thick killing intent!

“A threat?” The Joker arched an eyebrow. He turned towards Adam, revealing a sly smirk.

When Adam saw that smile, his heart skipped a beat.

No, you bastard! Are you trying to kill me?!! He screamed inwardly.

But in the end, the Joker shook his head. “Quite the contrary,” he said. “I have deemed him a candidate.”

The four beasts were surprised. The looks they now gave Adam completely changed. Now, they were deeply observing him.

“He seems young,” said the elephant. “Very young!”

“From the remnant mana in the surroundings, he seems to be a Mana Vortex Magus,” the eagle added.

“You are strong for your size, human,” the gorilla spoke in amusement as he gazed at Adam with bright eyes. “You have a sturdy physique. Good. Very strong.”

As for the tiger, its gaze was not at Adam at all. Instead, it was on Valerian!

“Nielk, what is that?” Asked the tiger.

“This?” The Joker glanced at Valerian and then rubbed his head warmly. “This is the lad’s familiar.”

“Hmm.” The tiger crouched low, bringing its head towards Valerian and staring at him coldly. “That is not a cat.”

“Myu!” Valerian was scared for his life.

He hurriedly leaped away from the Joker and dashed towards Adam. He then turned into a flash of gray light and disappeared inside Adam’s spirit sea.

“Definitely not a cat,” the tiger added.

Adam remained silent from the beginning till the end. It was not like he didn’t want to talk, but more like he couldn’t talk.

Being in the presence of so many Mana Core existences was a surreal feeling, to say the least. Furthermore, magical beasts were said to be stronger than their Magi counterparts.

“Fafafa, cat got your tongue?” The Joker suddenly appeared behind Adam and lightly smacked the back of his head.

Adam turned to him and flashed a nervous smile, “Sir Joker… you know this is cheating, right?”

He paused for a moment before adding, “There is no way you thought I could go against these powerful existences.”

“I know.” The Joker shrugged. “I simply wanted to show off.”

He stood before the raven-haired youth and spread his arms wide, proudly introducing, “These are the four great guardians of the Soaring River Secret Plane!”

Although Adam had speculated the existence of a Mana Core being in this secret plane, he didn’t expect there to be four of them.

For a moment, he couldn’t help but stare at them in a stunned daze. Several moments later, he muttered, “This secret place truly has a deep background…”

“Fafafa!” The Joker puffed his chest out in pride. “Of course, it does! After all, this is the legacy left behind by my great Master!”

The white eagle turned to the Joker and stated, “Nielk, you said this human is a candidate?”

The Joker turned to the humongous bird and nodded. “Yes, what about it?”

“Then I wish to test him,” said the white eagle. “A simple test to see if he is worthy.”

The Joker arched an eyebrow, pondering the thought of Adam going against the white eagle. Although he felt that this would be quite entertaining, he knew that it would be very dangerous for Adam.

Although he liked to toy with the raven-haired youth, he never wished to harm him to the point of death.

Just when he was about to refuse the eagle’s proposal, Adam called out to him. “Sir Joker.”

“Hmm?” The Joker turned to him with a slight frown. “What is it, lad?”

Adam took a deep breath and solemnly nodded. “I wish to test my strength against a mighty Mana Core being.

Although he knew he was biting more than he could chew, he couldn’t help but wonder just how strong he had gotten after his advancement.

Mana Vortex Magi didn’t pose a threat to him. Unless there was an army of them, he could easily take care of them.

But going against a Mana Core existence would truly be testing his newfound strength!

The Joker was momentarily taken aback, but soon he grinned from ear to ear. He turned to the white eagle and nodded. “Don’t kill him.”

“I’ll try not to.” The white eagle’s eyes flashed with a peculiar light.

While the rest of the guardians and the Joker drew back, the white eagle looked at Adam and flatly stated, “Just one attack. If you manage to withstand it, you will pass my test.”

Adam took a few deep breaths as adrenaline wildly coursed through his veins. “Alright!”

He conjured the Staff of Calamity, swinging it around him and creating multiple overlapping walls of oscillating mana.

The white eagle took to the skies, creating enough distance between them.

Then, without a single word, it viciously flapped its wings, unleashing dozens of razor-sharp wind blades at Adam.
