To be able to see through time and space and accurately locate one's physical body in the material world…

Just how strong and learned did one have to be to achieve such an unbelievable feat?

Adam involuntarily found himself kneeling before the old serpent. With his hands resting on his thighs, he couldn't help but ask out of curiosity, "My Lord, just how powerful of a Magus are you?"

"You wouldn't know even if I told you," said the serpent.

Adam's lips curled up into a faint smirk and he ventured a guess, "Could it be the Supreme Magus? Or could it be the rank after that, Emperor Magus?"

"Hmm." The next moment, he shook his head and ventured another guess, "No, since you're someone who doesn't require any of the three spell components to cast magic, perhaps… you're a Rank 10 - Transcendent Magus!"

Lord White turned to look at the raven-haired youth with slight interest. "Hoh? You are quite knowledgeable for a mere Mana Liquefaction Magus."

"Hmm." The serpent thought for a few moments before continuing, "I'm surprised Syvarin would leave behind such information in his inheritance."

He then looked into the distant clouds with a reminiscent look in his eyes, "As evil and selfish as he was, perhaps he already felt that his end was nigh, so he left behind everything he knew in his inheritance before he took part in that great battle."

The knowledge Adam had was the amalgamation of all the experiences and memories of the great Magi whose souls he had previously devoured—including Magus Syvarin Ven'mir.

Of course, he wasn't going to clear Lord White's misunderstanding.

What truly piqued his interest, however, was the old serpent's mention of the great battle. This was something he had mentioned the last time they met as well.

Adam believed that this great battle that Lord White spoke of was the battle over the white lotus!

Thus, he couldn't help but ask, "My Lord, may I know what this great battle was about? And how did my predecessor, Magus Ven'mir, lose his life in that battle?"

Lord White remained silent for a long time. He then finally answered, "This battle took place more than fifty thousand years ago. At least, by the reckoning of the material world."

After all, time flowed differently in the Spirit World.

"Fifty thousand years?!" Adam was thunderstruck.

That was far more than what he had expected. It meant that Magus Julian Stockholm and the rest of the Magi who had fought over possession of the white lotus died more than fifty thousand years ago.

"I suppose this would come as a surprise to you who hasn't even reached the age of fifty," Lord White said with a light chuckle.

"However, the further the Magus advances in their arcane path, the slower they age. This is because of the mana that elevates their physical bodies, and the spiritual energy that elevates their soul bodies."

Adam was so stunned by the previous discovery, that he didn't even know how to react. After a few moments, he came to his senses and eagerly asked, "My Lord, do you know what this great battle was about?"

Lord White nodded his head. "It was because of the sudden appearance of a legendary artifact rumored to contain the secrets of the soul."

He paused for a moment before revealing the name of that legendary artifact.

"The Eternal Soul Lotus."

Adam was absolutely stunned. He sat there in a daze, thinking to himself in shock, So that is the name of the white lotus…

He quickly composed himself and asked the serpent, "That sounds like a very… heavy name."

"Indeed." Lord White nodded. "It is said to be an artifact as old as the universe itself. Of course, these are only rumors. No one knows how ancient this artifact truly is."

He paused for a moment before continuing, "However, it has been seen in murals of ancient civilizations, and written about in scriptures by the Magi of old. So there might be some truth to those rumors."

"…I see," Adam spoke in a daze. "And what happened to all those who participated in that great battle?"

"Of course, all of them perished," said the old serpent. "The consequences were immense. Many of the Greater Universe's most powerful factions lost their top experts in that battle. Chaos followed, igniting a war for power that spanned across countless galaxies. Empires rose and fell in its wake, and billions of powerful Magi died as a result."

Adam couldn't help but loudly gulp. He vividly recalled the memory of that great battle. After all, that was the first thing he had seen when he came to possess the lotus.

But even he did not expect the consequences of that battle to be so great.

"A war spanning countless galaxies? Death of billions of powerful Magi?" He couldn't help but blurt out in shock.

Lord White nodded. "The greed of man knows no bounds."

Adam remained silent for a very long time, trying his best to digest this newfound information. He then looked at the old man and asked meekly, "My Lord, then… what about the artifact?"

Lord White chuckled lightly, "Hoho, some say that the Eternal Soul Lotus disappeared after the battle and that no one was able to lay their hands on it. While others say, it came into the possession of a powerful entity of the Greater Universe."

He paused for a moment before speaking in ridicule, "Regardless of the outcome, the artifact sparked a war that is rarely seen in this universe. Countless millions of planets were destroyed as a result, and the galaxies were dyed in blood."

All of this was too much for Adam to handle. He couldn't believe that the artifact he possessed had left behind such a bloody storm in its wake.

Just how precious did an artifact have to be for the Magi to go to such great lengths?

So he couldn't help but ask, "But my lord… why? Why would people go so far to get their hands on this artifact?"

"A sentient being's soul consists of three parts," Lord White explained. "The first is the part that holds all memories and experiences. This is known as the Vessel.

"The second embodies personality, emotions, and individuality. This is known as the Will.

"While the third is the pure essence of spiritual energy, it is the force that binds the soul to the body. This is known as the Spark.

"The Vessel, the Will, and The Spark are inseparable from each other, and together they make up the soul."

Adam paid rapt attention because this was knowledge that even he didn't know!

Lord White continued, "Rumor has it that the Eternal Soul Lotus has the power to extinguish and devour the souls of others. However…"

He paused for a moment, his eyes flashing with profound reverence.

"What truly sets the lotus apart from other soul-related artifacts is its miraculous ability to purge the soul of its Will!"
