Gospel of Blood-Chapter 658 : The Coming Storm
Seeing her two disciples return, Charlotte felt a deep sense of relief.
Reviving Lilith and Harald had always been one of her plans.
If she wanted to successfully deceive, rewrite history, and ultimately achieve victory in her struggle against the Primordial One, she would have to rely on the aid of these two gods.
However, they were ultimately mythic beings revived by Charlotte—and those who return from slumber are no longer quite the same as before.
The most significant difference… was memory.
“Do you… still remember your past experiences?”
Charlotte looked at the two and asked.
Lilith and Harald exchanged a glance, then answered respectfully:
“We… seem to have forgotten quite a bit, but we still remember many of the important parts…”
Charlotte’s thoughts stirred.
After speaking with them for a while, she realized that most of what they remembered were the times they had spent together with her before her transmigration.
That was to be expected—after all, they had been revived with her as the anchor, and memories connected to Charlotte were naturally the most intact.
As for the rest of their memories… perhaps one day in the future they could retrieve them. But preferably only after defeating the Creator God. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
After all, memories were often a place where corruption likes to hide.
For now, though, this much was enough.
Charlotte extended her hand and projected two orbs of light into the bodies of the two elven demigods.
Yes, for the time being, they were only demigods.
But with their former divine authorities, ascending to true godhood was merely a matter of time.
Lilith and Harald did not resist.
They accepted the light, feeling torrents of information pour into their minds.
This was the message Charlotte had prepared for them—not only detailing the current situation, but also her plans moving forward.
“This is…”
Feeling the mass of information in their minds, the expressions of the two elven demigods sharpened slightly.
They exchanged another glance and then bowed to Charlotte once more with solemn respect:
“Teacher, we have understood your plan. This time… we will give our all to assist you in defeating Him!”
Charlotte gave a slight nod.
Her gaze swept over the two of them. After a moment of silence, she said,
“Your past identities… have already become a forbidden part of history.”
“The cause and effect of past and future have been thrown into disorder. If we are to rewrite history anew, you too must bear new names.”
“From this day forward, you shall be… the Sun God Helios and the Moon Goddess Artemis.”
…
The Twin Gods Ascend!
When the news that the Oracle Twins had ignited their divine flames spread across the entire Elven Realm, the whole race erupted in celebration.
The elves believed without a doubt that the twins would, as foretold by the divine oracle, become the two most powerful gods of the Elves—leading their civilization to a peak of brilliance and glory.
The Oracle Twins—truly worthy of the name.
Though still just demigods in title, their combat strength far surpassed all other demigods. Even among the elven true gods, only a few could claim to fight them to a draw.
Even Pallas, the God of Wisdom and Art, couldn’t help but sigh in admiration.
“They… may very well be the ones who surpass the bounds of true godhood.”
With the addition of the Sun God Helios and Moon Goddess Artemis, the balance of power in the war between the two continents… tilted completely.
Until... more true-god–level Old Gods began to awaken on the Myria Continent.
“He is panicking...”
Sensing the shifts in divine power radiating across Myria, Charlotte stood high above the world, her gaze profound.
The Old Gods of Myria were incarnations of the overflowing power of the Creator God.
Clearly, upon noticing something amiss with the elves, the slumbering Creator God had chosen to birth more gods in response.
Yet even so, the balance of the war did not change.
Because merely three years after becoming demigods, Helios and Artemis ascended to the ranks of true gods!
The return of these two deities to full divinity caused a massive chain reaction.
Almost overnight, the many Old Gods of the eastern continent lost the power to rival the elven pantheon.
Under the protection of divine might, the elves crushed every Old God faction with overwhelming force.
Until, at last, the Old Gods lost the will to fight and chose instead to submit and seek peace.
“There’s no reason for us to accept their surrender. They no longer have the strength to resist us. Heretics are still heretics. Wiping them out completely is the only correct choice.”
—said Mars, the God of War among the elven gods.
“I disagree. They are still mythic beings. If we push them too hard, a desperate counterattack could come at great cost to us all…”
—replied Kris, the Goddess of Harvest and Celebration, shaking her head.
The debate over what to do with the Old Gods raged on among the elven deities—until the Oracle Twins, now de facto leaders of the pantheon, made the final decision.
They chose... to accept the Old Gods' submission.
“Kris is right. If we press them too much, He will strike back.”
High above, Charlotte—who had given the order for the two gods to accept the surrender—murmured as she looked down on the elven gods still debating in the sanctuary.
She turned, shifting her gaze to the other regions of the Western Continent.
Unlike the triumphant advances in the east, in the neglected corners of the west—in the lower ranks of elf society, and among the lesser intelligent species—cults worshiping the so-called Creator God were quietly spreading.
It was the faith of the Creator God.
Clearly, the Creator God had not given up, and had shifted its focus directly onto the elves of the Western Continent.
Even more troubling: within Charlotte’s vision, some mythic elves themselves had begun to make contact with these factions.
“He... must have faintly sensed my presence.”
Charlotte murmured to herself.
For as long as history remembered, the elves were known for worshipping the Creator God.
However, while they bore the name of the Creator God, any deeper inspection would reveal appended titles—like Mother Goddess, Divine Tree, and so on.
Charlotte had never absorbed all the extraordinary power that came from the elves’ growing faith. She had intentionally allowed a portion to flow back to the Creator God, using this as cover to hide beneath the “God of Creation” title.
The Creator God remained asleep, and His consciousness was limited—many of His actions were guided by instinct, not full awareness. As such, He had not noticed.
In other words, as long as Charlotte did not step forward publicly, and merely directed the elves through divine oracles, the Creator God would be unlikely to detect anything.
But this cover... had its limits.
As the elven race continued to grow in strength, and as they continued to suppress the Old Gods, it was only a matter of time before the Creator God sensed something wrong.
And now, regardless of whether It had truly identified Charlotte’s presence, the sliver of awareness left behind after His slumber… had already turned His gaze upon the elves.
Which brought another problem:
Just as Charlotte could use the title of “God of Creation” to conceal herself—
The Creator God could just as easily use the same title to influence the elves who were “led astray.”
Even though the war in the eastern continent had been won, and the elven kingdom had reached the peak of its power, a storm was quietly brewing in the shadows, looming ever closer.
Thinking this, Charlotte reached out to contact her two disciples.
“Artemis, Helios—meet me at the Castle of Night.”
