Gospel of Blood-Chapter 618 : Sorry... Your Majesty the True Ancestor
Dark red divine power extended into black lines, winding upward along Helios’ soul.
Helios’ gaze instantly turned vicious.
“Abaddon—! Die—!”
Blinding platinum light erupted, illuminating Helios’ frenzied and enraged eyes. He formed a sword with his fingers, and a divine sword of holy power slashed toward the Blood Demon Archduke blocking him.
The scorching holy power poured onto Abaddon like molten lava. Unlike Charlotte, who had divine resistance, Abaddon immediately ignited with platinum holy fire. His fearsome demon armor melted like wax, and cracks appeared all over his body.
“Your Majesty… True Ancestor—!”
A hoarse yet resolute roar echoed.
Charlotte watched Abaddon, who was giving everything to hold Helios back, with a complex expression. That desperate figure overlapped with the young demon who had fought by her side throughout history, yearning for her recognition.
Taking a deep breath, Charlotte’s expression became determined. The Sea King’s Trident in her hand burst forth with even more dazzling light. A vast aura, ancient and eternal, spread from the tip of the trident. Just its appearance caused all who sensed it to tremble, a primal urge to bow down surging from deep within their souls.
On the ground, ordinary people and the extraordinary alike had already knelt unconsciously, as if following some instinct. Even the summoned demons were prostrated under that aura, motionless.
Charlotte raised the Trident high and thrust it directly at the terror-stricken Helios!
“No—!”
Helios let out a cry of despair.
The Gods of Myria…
Aside from their great power, they weren’t all that different from mortals.
Seeing the fear in his eyes, an inexplicable thought crossed Charlotte’s mind.
Divine power exploded, and the radiant Trident pierced through Abaddon’s body, striking Helios in the chest.
Fine cracks began to spread across Helios’ soul. Ancient patterns on the Sea King’s Trident shimmered faintly, gathering the supreme will of a law that shredded Helios’ soul entirely.
Helios’ eyes were filled with resentment, but within that resentment… there was venomous hatred.
He glared at Charlotte with spite and cursed,
“Nyx…! I curse you! I curse you to never transcend! I curse you to lose everything!”
“Those who cherish you… those you cherish… will, in your despair, become strangers to you!”
“In every time and space, you will fall the same way! Never to rise again for eternity!”
As Helios’ curse took effect, an ancient and vast power descended. Charlotte felt her senses clouded as if a veil had been placed over her perception, making her five senses dull for a moment. Her destiny seemed to become murky and chaotic.
The light around Helios dimmed more and more.
His angry voice gradually faded, like the wind dying down, and his golden soul finally shattered with a soft sound.
First, his limbs disintegrated, then his torso, and lastly… his head, still wearing a sun mask.
Countless golden particles scattered, and golden rain poured down softly. At the same time, the magic in the surrounding air became vastly enriched, increasing several times over in an instant to the point where even the extraordinary felt discomfort from the overwhelming concentration.
The clouds in the sky began to disperse, and the silver moon hanging high above gradually turned ethereal.
The vast ocean above the Holy City contracted, finally transforming into a small, mysterious silver shrine etched with intricate engravings.
The ethereal silver moon also turned into a shooting star, plummeting from the sky.
The silver shrine landed in Charlotte’s hands, and the shooting star that was once the silver moon flew into her palm as well.
Looking down, Charlotte saw it was a silver earring, adorned with intricate elven patterns and the divine symbol of the Moon Goddess.
It was the supreme artifact of the Elves—the Dreamy Moon’s Heart, belonging to the Moon Goddess Artemis.
The golden sun symbols on both artifacts faded away, eventually disappearing entirely.
With Helios’ divine power gone, Abaddon’s body fell from the sky.
But soon, he was enveloped by crimson divine power and gently placed onto the ground.
Helios’ presence had completely vanished.
This ancient Sun God, who had caused Charlotte so much trouble, had perished abruptly, in such an unexpected way.
Yet, Charlotte did not feel much joy from it.
She felt as though something had been added to her soul, like a shackle or a shadow.
It was Helios—the curse of a true God before falling!
A curse cast by a true God who had given everything, and one who wielded origin power at that.
Though Helios was in a soul state and not at full strength, the curse he laid was something that Charlotte, in her current Demigod form, could not dispel.
“Forget it, I’ll deal with it later.”
Charlotte sighed, shaking her head slightly as she felt the shadow cast over her soul.
She withdrew her gaze and looked toward the ground.
The pressure from the Sea King’s Trident had receded, and the demons, who had been prostrating moments before, stood up and gathered around Abaddon.
Charlotte slowly descended to the ground and walked toward Abaddon.
Seeing her approach, the demons showed fear and quickly parted to make way.
Charlotte reached the center of the gathering where the Flame Demon Valaroka was kneeling, its ferocious face filled with confusion.
Seeing Charlotte, it cowered in fear but hesitated before stubbornly standing in front of her, letting out a fierce yet weak growl.
Charlotte’s expression was hard to read.
“You… You’re wicked and foolish, and you’ve taken countless mortal lives, but you’re loyal, in a way not typical for a demon.”
She sighed and continued.
“Step aside. I… will not harm your master.”
Valaroka didn’t move.
Despite trembling, it remained in front of her.
It wasn’t until a weak voice from Abaddon came.
“Step aside… Her Majesty the True Ancestor… will not harm me.”
Valaroka hesitated but eventually obeyed, stepping aside.
Charlotte looked away from the demon and walked up to Abaddon.
He was half-lying on the ground, leaning against the burnt remains of a large tree.
His demon armor was almost entirely shattered, and his body was covered in cracks, with dark red divine power leaking out.
There was also a gaping wound in his chest, through which the scorched tree behind him was visible.
But the most critical damage was to his soul.
In Charlotte’s “spiritual vision,” she saw that Abaddon’s soul was nearly shattered, on the verge of complete disintegration.
This was the wound inflicted by the Sea King’s Trident. Although Charlotte had targeted Helios and deliberately avoided damaging Abaddon’s soul, he had still been pierced by the trident and affected by its God-slaying power.
“Your Majesty the True Ancestor…”
Abaddon weakly reached out his hand toward Charlotte.
“Don’t move. You’re gravely injured. Let me use my bloodline power to heal you.”
Charlotte said.
With that, she gathered crimson divine power in her hand, infused with her essence of divine blood power as she pricked her finger.
But Abaddon stopped her.
“Your Majesty… I know my condition… Please… don’t waste your strength.”
Charlotte paused for a moment.
She looked at Abaddon with a complicated expression.
She knew what he meant.
She could see the state he was in.
Abaddon had descended by sacrificing another vessel. Although he had achieved a divine body during the descent, his condition was unstable from the start. Having already suffered a fatal blow from Helios, he was on the brink of collapse.
Now, after being struck by the Sea King’s Trident, wrapped in its God-slaying force, it was a miracle he hadn’t perished like Helios.
“Without trying… how will we know? Even the strongest laws have a way to be undone.”
Charlotte remained silent for a few seconds before speaking.
Without waiting for Abaddon to reply, she injected her crimson divine power into him.
As the crimson divine power entered his body, Abaddon’s divine form began to heal, the God-slaying force and bloodline power clashing, and Abaddon’s weak aura started to grow stronger.
But the next moment, something unexpected happened.
Abaddon’s aura suddenly became chaotic and sinister. Black tendrils began to spread in his eyes, and his soul gradually turned pale and eerie.
This was the origin power Charlotte was familiar with—or rather, the strange, chilling force from behind those stone doors in the Crimson Star Sea that simultaneously felt close to her yet filled her with a soul-deep dread.
Charlotte’s expression shifted as she quickly realized that her actions had backfired. She immediately stopped the infusion of bloodline power.
Without the bloodline power, the God-slaying force from the Sea King’s Trident regained the upper hand, continuing to erode Abaddon’s soul. His aura plummeted again, and the cracks in his demon armor deepened.
Yet at the same time, the pale force trying to control him also receded, allowing his soul to stabilize and his eyes to clear.
Witnessing these changes, Charlotte was bewildered.
“Abaddon, you…”
Abaddon forced a grim smile and weakly chuckled.
“Your Majesty the True Ancestor, I’m sorry… In the end, I’ve let you down.”
“As you can see, I ultimately couldn’t resist the allure and corruption of that power. I lost myself in the pursuit and was consumed by the purest darkness…”
