Chapter 700: Chapter 700

"Rest assured, you will have your chance to fight. This time, I will let you battle to your hearts’ content," Ethan replied calmly.

"Thank you, Master!"

Vex’s face lit up with excitement. Since coming out of seclusion, he hadn’t fought anyone. His hands felt itchy whenever he saw someone. Now he finally had the chance to fully display his skills.

"There’s no time to lose. We set off right now."

"Young Master Ryan, you lead the way," Ethan said.

"Alright, Young Master Ethan. Just follow me."

Ryan nodded and walked out of the cave. He leaped into the air and flew north. Ethan and the other two transformed into three streaks of light and followed close behind.

Ryan’s heart surged as they flew.

He had nearly lost his life coming out this time. And yet, by accident, he had run into Ethan.

With this, their Riverborn Clan might truly be saved.

The auroras gradually faded as daybreak approached the White North Ice Field. A golden radiance began to surface along the eastern sky.

In the southern region of the White North Ice Field lay a vast expanse of rolling hills.

Thick pine forests covered the entire mountain range, their canopies wide as umbrellas, blotting out the sky and sun.

Amidst the green and white landscape, scattered buildings dotted the mountains.

The mountain range formed an enclosure, with a sunken valley at its center.

Several powerful defensive formations shrouded the valley, hiding a massive complex of buildings within.

Wind and snow fell from the sky, but the moment they touched the formation’s barrier, they vaporized into white mist.

At this moment, figures were converging from all directions.

They wore standardized blue-and-white robes. Every one of them possessed a profound aura and deep cultivation.

Without exception, they were all Supreme Realm experts, the lowest among them at the Intermediate Supreme realm.

Swoosh.

The sound of split wind rang out.

Wilford floated in the air, six people trailing behind him.

Two were Moonfall Clan elders, the Third Elder and the Ninth Elder. Of the remaining four, two were guard Commanders, and one was a powerful shadow guard Wilford had personally cultivated, his realm at the peak of Ultimate Supreme with signs of breaking through to Perfect Supreme.

The seven of them represented nearly half of the entire Moonfall Clan’s top-tier combat power.

"Let’s go. Back to the clan."

Wilford stretched out his hand.

A clan token appeared in his palm.

The moment it touched the grand defensive formation, ripples spread across its surface.

A vortex opened in the barrier. Wilford led the group through and returned to the clan.

The council hall in the southern sector of the valley was already full.

Nearly twenty individuals sat within the massive hall, all Supreme Realm experts. Among them, more than a handful were powerful Perfect Supremes.

A Perfect Supreme could be considered a regional powerhouse, even a hegemon, anywhere else on the mainland.

Yet dozens of such rare and powerful cultivators existed within an Ancient Clan like the Moonfall Clan.

That alone showed just how terrifying their foundation was.

Across the entire Oceanreach Continent, very few factions could contend with them head-on.

And recently, an ancestor who had long been in secluded cultivation opened his Emperor Path and successfully stepped into the Emperor Realm.

"I have returned."

Wilford led his people into the hall and took the first seat on the right.

Above him sat the Clan Head.

The Moonfall Clan Head was a burly man whose divine power fluctuations were stable and profound, surpassing even Wilford’s. His brows carried a natural, overwhelming domineering aura that made others hesitate to approach, let alone meet his gaze.

Glacien.

The current Moonfall Clan Head. A Perfect Supreme, just one step from opening his Emperor Path.

Glacien stood with his hands clasped behind his back, scanning the room. His brows were slightly furrowed, heavy with thought.

Once all high-ranking members had gathered, he waved his hand. The entire hall fell silent.

One seat on the right sat empty.

The Seventh Elder’s seat. Werner. A powerful Perfect Supreme, already fallen, cause of death unknown, his corpse unrecovered.

"Since everyone is here..."

"Wait, where is Seventh Elder?" someone asked.

The Great Elder and Glacien exchanged a glance. Only the two of them and the High Priestess knew of Werner’s death.

"Great Elder, you tell them," Glacien said, taking his seat.

"I regret to inform everyone that Seventh Elder’s Soul Jade has shattered."

"With the High Priestess’s confirmation, Seventh Elder and the shadow guard Erna have fallen."

"Before I came here, I received news from Flying Snow City. The City Lord of Flying Snow City has also fallen," Wilford said, enunciating every word clearly.

Stunned silence. Then absolute shock. Then a long, suffocating stillness as the atmosphere in the hall turned stifling.

The Third Elder slapped the armrest of his chair and shot to his feet, the first to break the quiet.

"Seventh Elder was a Perfect Supreme."

"How could he have fallen?" His voice was filled with utter disbelief.

"Exactly. Seventh Elder was a Perfect Supreme, and he had Erna and the Flying Snow City Lord, two Peak Ultimate Supremes, at his side."

"Who could possibly kill them?"

"Is there an error in the information?" the Fifth Elder stood and asked.

"The news has been confirmed without error. Seventh Elder has indeed fallen. I also had the High Priestess divine the future path of our Moonfall Clan."

"What was originally a smooth, unobstructed path has unexpectedly become entirely unpredictable."

"The High Priestess said that a Star of Calamity has appeared for our Moonfall Clan. This Star of Calamity should be the person who killed Seventh Elder."

"We must find this Star of Calamity and eliminate them. Otherwise, our Moonfall Clan is in grave danger," Glacien said.

His words brought the Third Elder and Fifth Elder to stillness.

Since the Clan Head had spoken, Seventh Elder had indeed fallen, no matter how many reasons their hearts held to disbelieve it.

"To think Seventh Elder would actually fall. Who is the person that killed him? And who is this Star Calamity?"

"Is the High Priestess exaggerating to scare us?"

"How could a single person possibly affect the destiny of our entire clan?" a man clad in armor asked.

He was the Chief Commander of the Moonfall Clan’s Shadow Guards, his realm and status nearly on par with the Great Elder’s.
