God-Tier Fishing System-Chapter 588
The Silver guardian puppet that Ethan had deployed was blasted backward.
The dense swarm of Ghost Flame Insects suddenly parted, and the Silver Guardian was struck head-on by an unseen force, flying back like a cannonball.
Ethan’s eyes flickered.
He stretched out his palm. Golden light erupted as Original Power surged forth, firmly catching the Silver Guardian midair.
Only then did he see the damage clearly.
The puppet’s chest was caved in by nearly an inch. The metal surface had turned black-purple, warped and twisted, and wisps of poisonous mist continuously leaked from the dented area.
Ethan’s expression grew colder.
From this alone, one could imagine how terrifying the Ghost Flame Insect Mother lurking here truly was.
When the sonic attack failed, the Ghost Flame Insects twisted their glowing bellies and began releasing blue venom in streams.
The venom splashed against the Celestial Prism Dharma Body, spreading like liquid fire—
And then slid off.
There was no reaction.
The Celestial Prism Dharma Body was immune to all poisons.
No matter how corrosive the Ghost Flame Insects’ venom was, attempting to penetrate Ethan’s Dharma Body was nothing but a delusion.
The venom dripped down, hitting the ground.
Water hissed into steam.
Moss, vines, and mud instantly withered, blackened, and crumbled into ash.
The venom itself seemed alive, writhing and creeping, attempting to find even the slightest gap beneath Ethan’s defenses.
But Ethan’s protection was flawless—three hundred and sixty degrees, without a single blind spot.
The poison had nowhere to go.
Buzz buzz buzz—!
The Ghost Flame Insects began vibrating even faster.
This time, it wasn’t an attack.
It was panic.
Anger.
Desperation.
Their brown-green compound eyes gradually turned blood-red. The blue light within their abdomens flickered violently, swelling and contracting.
Ethan narrowed his eyes as his perception swept outward.
He could clearly feel it.
The fire poison within their bodies was being compressed to an unstable extreme.
They were preparing to self-destruct.
"Self-destruction?" Ethan snorted.
A gray-blue flame abruptly ignited within his pupils.
A violent aura burst forth. His long hair and robes whipped wildly in the surging heat.
Pure Azure Flame surged out of Ethan’s body, forming a blazing barrier that expanded outward in all directions.
In the blink of an eye, the flame barrier engulfed the entire ruins hall, swallowing every last Ghost Flame Insect within it.
"Burst."
Ethan spoke a single word, cold and emotionless.
Bang—!
Before even one Ghost Flame Insect could complete its detonation, its body exploded from within.
The compressed fire poison was incinerated instantly by Ethan’s terrifying spiritual flame.
Chain reactions followed.
One after another, Ghost Flame Insects detonated prematurely, their explosions overlapping.
Boom—boom—boom—!
Blue fire bloomed everywhere.
The scene resembled a grotesque firework display—beautiful, violent, and utterly lethal.
Kara, Elara, and Risa stared in stunned silence.
In just moments, tens of thousands of Ghost Flame Insects were wiped out completely, leaving behind no corpses, no ashes—nothing at all.
As if they had never existed.
Then—
Whoosh.
Flames suddenly flared along the walls.
Ethan’s flame barrier brushed against the bronze lamps hanging from stone pillars and walls, igniting the ancient fuel stored within them.
Light spread instantly.
The vast hall was illuminated.
Carvings and murals emerged from the shadows, etched into pillars, walls, even the floor beneath their feet.
They were scenes of war.
Scenes Ethan and Elara instantly recognized.
This was the final battle of Emperor Sage.
Giants towering over mountains clashed in the void. Divine weapons shattered continents. Blood and fire drowned the heavens.
Even as lifeless carvings, the murals radiated an oppressive aura.
It felt as though time itself had folded, dragging their minds back into that ancient battlefield.
Ethan’s expression changed sharply.
"Heaven-piercing Mind Eyes!"
A cold blue light burst outward from his body, forming a barrier that forcibly severed the aura emanating from the murals.
Only then did Elara and the others snap back to reality.
They gasped for breath, faces pale.
Just moments ago, they had been standing on a battlefield where colossal beings slaughtered one another, where heaven and earth screamed.
Oppression.
Despair.
Endless death.
If Ethan had not intervened, the three of them might have lost themselves completely.
"Hah..." Kara panted.
Her hair was disheveled, sweat soaked her forehead, and her limbs trembled. She glanced at Ethan, then staggered forward, collapsing toward him.
Ethan caught her instinctively.
"Senior Sister Kara, are you alright?" he asked.
"I’m fine..." Kara forced a weak smile.
"But for a moment, I really thought I was going to die."
"Don’t relax yet," Ethan said calmly. His gaze had already shifted forward.
"There’s still a big one left."
Above them, the hall’s ceiling opened into a massive skylight. Dust trickled down endlessly.
Thick vines hung from above, and soil had accumulated over countless years, forming a mound beneath the opening.
The mound trembled.
Then split apart.
A massive figure emerged.
The Ghost Flame Insect Mother.
A colossal body, its eight wings were pale white and almost transparent, slowly beating with a chilling rhythm.
Two enormous brown-green eyes locked onto Ethan.
Behind it, its bloated abdomen resembled a giant sphere, pulsing faintly.
Unlike the ordinary Ghost Flame Insects, its back was encased in a hardened gray carapace, with only a small portion exposed.
That exposed part glowed a deep, almost blackened blue.
Through the flesh, Ethan could sense terrifying heat—and poison.
"Innate spiritual flame... Ghost Flames," Ethan murmured.
The deep blue fire flowing through the Insect Mother’s wings was its unique flame—a innate spiritual fire, both scorching and lethally toxic.
Ethan’s heartbeat quickened slightly.
He already possessed four spiritual flames.
Together with Luca’s unrefined spiritual flame, that made five.
If he could seize this Ghost Flame and refine it alongside Luca’s flame, his Divine Flame Body Building Technique would step into an entirely new realm.
The Ghost Flame Insect Mother hovered silently, its killing intent filling the hall like a suffocating fog.
"This thing..." Elara said grimly, "is a true tenth-level demon lord."
"She’s probably lived here for hundreds of thousands of years."
Ethan nodded slowly, eyes fixed on the towering insect.
"Similar to that Dragon Leviathan Fish, the peak stage inferior Demon Lord."
