Chapter 701: Chapter 771: Fang the Devil

The gunmen laying in ambush, all members of the God Transformation Alliance, were, in Fang Yi’s eyes, even more expendable than those sacrificial monsters. Fang Yi thought to himself that if it were him, he would never have sent these men, as doing so was simply a waste of resources.

However, knowing Su Ling, the guy with the intelligence of a demon, Fang Yi didn’t believe this was an unintentional act; perhaps there was some deeper meaning behind it.

But for the moment, Fang Yi couldn’t figure it out. All he could do was to go with the flow. After brief consideration, Fang Yi quickly returned behind that huge rock and then hoisted Hua Huiyue onto his back again.

With both hands cradling Hua Huiyue’s plump thighs, Fang Yi moved swiftly, continuing his descent down the mountain. Just as he left the area, over a dozen people were already heading towards this spot.

But Fang Yi was long gone, without a trace. These dozen or so people were disciples from the Sky Sword Sect, Qingcheng Sect, and the monastery. When they saw the dozen or so corpses on the ground, they all couldn’t help but gasp in shock.

"We are too late. I didn’t expect this demon Fang to have such a murderous nature, to kill so many people, Amitabha," a young monk lamented, murmuring several Buddhist scriptures.

"Damn it! This demon must be eradicated!" A person stepped forward, it was none other than Zhou Hao.

Zhou Hao felt extremely frustrated; he had thought that with Zhou Hai and Ying Juekong taking action, along with so many other martial arts practitioners, they would have had Fang Yi cornered. But what he hadn’t expected was that Fang Yi still managed to escape!

The escape didn’t matter to him; he believed that with so many people, they would definitely capture Fang Yi. However, after seeing so many corpses, Zhou Hao’s heart couldn’t help but shudder with cold.

"He must be killed, it’s either his death or my demise!" Zhou Hao muttered to himself, a gloomy and resentful light flashing in his eyes.

In fact, Zhou Hao knew that he had been cornered. If he let Fang Yi go, and if the grass wasn’t removed from the roots, then Zhou Hao would definitely not survive Fang Yi’s revenge.

Therefore, Fang Yi must die!

Zhou Hao said loudly, "Fellow comrades, let’s continue, we must capture this demon and not let him live to harm the world anymore."

As soon as Zhou Hao’s words came out, he immediately garnered the agreement of the others. The next moment, everyone swiftly followed the tracks and began their chase.

There was no path leading down the mountain; brambles covered everything. Fang Yi, carrying Hua Huiyue, was proceeding forward when suddenly, he spat out a mouthful of fresh blood and was forced to stop.

He had suffered an internal injury, which, upon careful recollection, Fang Yi realized was from his earlier fight with Zhou Hai. Zhou Hai was at the second level of Heavenly Level, while Fang Yi was only at Half-step Heavenly. Such a huge difference in strength had left internal injuries in Fang Yi’s body during Zhou Hai’s attack.

Immediately, Fang Yi began circulating the "Evil Desire Scripture," trying to use the evil Qi from the scripture to heal the damaged extraordinary meridians and collaterals. However, as soon as Fang Yi started circulating it, a stream of True Qi inside his body began to flow backward, wreaking havoc through his every limb and bone.

Fang Yi’s brow furrowed; he realized that this True Qi was not his own but instead left inside him by Zhou Hai. With Fang Yi’s past killing spree added to his strenuous escape, the illness was now bone-deep.

But Fang Yi did not panic—the more critical the situation, the calmer he had to be.

Even though there was a feeling in his chest that he wanted to dispel, Fang Yi kept moving forward; no matter what, the priority was to get away from here.

However, as Fang Yi continued to move, the condition inside his body worsened. He felt an intense pain radiating from a specific acupoint, almost causing Fang Yi to stagger and fall.

Fang Yi forcibly steadied his form, a thought flashing through his mind, "Hmm? Isn’t this the acupoint I failed to open?"

Indeed, the acupoint from which the intense piercing pain originated was precisely one of the acupoints Fang Yi had not yet opened. With Fang Yi being at half-step Heavenly Level, he only had a few more acupoints to break through. What astonished him now was that the True Qi Zhou Hai had left in his body to inflict damage was actually rushing toward the unopened acupoint.

In other words, Zhou Hai’s original intention might have been to cause Fang Yi severe internal injuries, but now, it seemed that the True Qi Zhou Hai left in Fang Yi’s body was inadvertently helping Fang Yi turn misfortune into fortune.

"As the old saying goes, ’A blessing in disguise,’ you old fart, it’s something you never imagined," a hint of joy flashed in Fang Yi’s eyes.

Although his body was overwhelmed with intense agony, threatening to become unbearable, an iron-like steadfast will supported Fang Yi, preventing him from collapsing.

That’s right, he couldn’t fall yet!

The enemy remained at large, his vengeance unresolved, and his mother-in-law still on his back. To collapse now would mean to forsake everything, which Fang Yi was not ready to do.

Therefore, Fang Yi didn’t fall, and he had no wish to fall.

Just then, loud shouting suddenly came from behind him, followed by rustling sounds. Without looking back, Fang Yi knew someone had caught up.

"Fang the Demon, where do you think you’re going?"

A disciple of the Sky Sword Sect at Earth Level Rank Five charged with a sword, yelling fiercely with murderous intent.

The sword flew with deadly purpose, aimed to end Fang Yi’s life on the spot.

Fang Yi’s brow furrowed, and with one hand, he reached back and firmly wrapped it around the slender waist of Hua Huiyue on his back, securing her in position. The next moment, Fang Yi’s right hand suddenly struck out, and as the sword approached, he transformed his fist into a palm.

The long sword zoomed toward him, and a glint of cold light passed through Fang Yi’s eyes. He struck out with his single palm, sending out an invisible burst of strong air, slowing the sword’s momentum. The next moment, Fang Yi sidestepped, the sword flew by, and he raised his hand to smoothly grab the hilt.

It all happened in a blink, like a flash of lightning—Fang Yi grasped the long sword and immediately turned to hurl it back. The sword flew toward the Sky Sword Sect disciple.

Fang Yi had infused the sword with Inner Strength and, despite the disciple’s attempt to catch it as Fang Yi had, the sword was too fast and forceful. The disciple failed to catch it and was pierced through the palm instantaneously by the sword.

"I’m warning you, stop following me, or next time I won’t hold back," Fang Yi said coldly.

"Hmph! Fang Yi, don’t be so arrogant and conceited, you won’t escape today even if you had wings," Zhou Hao declared loudly.

Casting a sidelong glance at Zhou Hao, Fang Yi coldly remarked, "Zhou Hao, you are not far from death."

Zhou Hao sneered, "Fang Yi, to threaten me at a time like this... Regardless, you won’t escape today. My fellow comrades, act swiftly and capture this beast!"

A young monk stepped forth, proclaiming a Buddhist chant, "Amitabha, Benefactor Fang, the sea of suffering is boundless, yet turning back is the shore..."

"Stop wasting words on this devil. Everyone attack together!" Zhou Hao incited the crowd, fearing that more complications would arise if the confrontation dragged on, potentially bringing forth more unexpected issues.
