Global Gods : Skill-Resonance Awakened-Chapter 353: Ch : Hidden Foundation
"I underestimated the Demon Lords," Sunny whispered, his voice a low thrum that seemed to vibrate through the very emptiness of the void.
He floated in the absolute silence, his cosmic form shimmering with the light of a large number of souls that he now carried.
His mind, however, was a storm of tactical analysis. He was thinking about the fundamental nature of power. Even though he stood far above the Demon Lords in the hierarchy of the Real Void, a predator among scavengers. They possessed something he still lacked: Conceptual Mastery.
Their SSS-Grade talents allowed them to bend the laws of the reality with the ease of a child bending a blade of grass.
Sunny realized that against a truly high-tier conceptual artifact or a concentrated SSS-Grade technique, his raw power might not be enough.
If he had been able to command reality at that level during the earlier infiltration, he wouldn’t have needed to hunt for the Pearl of Calamity; he would have simply commanded the space to vomit out Kairos and the others.
But his instincts had warned him that such a command would have been a waste of Faith. Telling him that the law created by the SSS-Grade artifact is much stronger than the SS-Grade Divine Command.
"I need reality-bending power on par with Belial," Sunny mused.
He currently possessed God’s Domain and Divine Command, but they were still developing.
They were powerful, yes, but they hadn’t yet reached the SSS-Grade peak where they could overwrite the fundamental definitions of existence. To bridge that gap, he needed a template.
With a thought, Sunny summoned the status screen of the Lord of Lies once more. The violet-gold light illuminated his mask as he began a deep dive into the anatomy of Belial’s soul.
[Talent: The Paradox]
[Grade: SSS-Grade]
[Description: The words of the Lord of Lies are always a lie. If he speaks the truth, reality is forced to invert it.]
"An awesome talent to have," Sunny admitted, his eyes scanning the talent. "But it’s too restrictive. Why would I want to live in a world of constant deception when I can change reality with a direct Command? I just need to work on it and grow my divine command to SSS-Grade."
He swiped his hand through the air, bringing up the next talent.
[Talent: Spatial Dishonesty]
[Grade: SSS-Grade]
[Description: Allows the user to ’Lie’ about their physical coordinates. To observers, the user appears in one location while physically occupying another. Grants near-perfect evasion.]
"So that’s why the clones’ barrage felt like punching a ghost," Sunny whispered. "He was never there in the first place. Every dodge was just him correcting his actual position."
It was a tempting talent, the ultimate defensive shield, but Sunny shook his head. He didn’t want to hide from the world; he wanted to encompass it. He swiped again.
[Talent: Domain of Lies]
[Grade: SSS-Grade]
[Description: An absolute territory where the Law of Lies is amplified tenfold.]
"Short, sweet, but useless to me," Sunny muttered. "Without the core affinity for deception, this domain is just an empty room."
He swiped faster now, his eyes darting through the SSS-Grade talents until he hit something that made his cosmic heart skip a beat.
[Talent: Demonic Miasma]
[Grade: SSS-Grade]
[Description: A highly corrosive substance possessed by the Lords. It is the chemical and spiritual amalgamation of all seven demonic powers into a single essence.]
"A mixture of all seven..." Sunny’s ears stood up. "That sounds like the ultimate weapon."
He considered it for a moment, imagining the power of the Miasma enhanced by his own Skill-Resonance.
It could potentially melt through the barriers of the Real Void itself. But he hesitated. "If I take this, I am merely becoming an equal to the Lords. I don’t want to be a better demon; I want to be the Void that consumes them."
He moved past the SSS-Grade talents and dipped into the SS-Grade tier, curious about the utility Belial had at his disposal.
[Talent: Mirror of Betrayal]
[Grade: SS-Grade]
[Description: Allows the user to plant seeds of Betrayal and doubt remotely, forcing the target to eventually betray their family, friends and companions.]
"A nasty piece of work," Sunny praised genuinely. "But at SS-Grade, the limitations would be too high against the beings I’m planning to face. Growing it to SSS-Grade would take more effort than it’s worth."
He swiped one more time, his interest waning as the power levels dropped.
[Talent: The Echo of the Unspoken]
[Grade: SS-Grade]
[Description: The user can hear the past deceptions of any being, specifically the lies they tell themselves and their deepest insecurities.]
Sunny went quiet. "I think Belial is more of a Lord of Discord than even Deimos. This talent alone could dismantle a civilization from the inside. I’m lucky it’s only SS-Grade. If it were higher, he might have heard the lies I’ve told my own lifeforms... he could have sparked a revolt in the middle of my harvest."
He nodded to himself, analyzing the psychological profile of his enemy. Belial was a master of the "Soft Kill", destroying a person’s mind and relationships before their body ever hit the ground.
"I don’t think any of these are compatible with my path," Sunny whispered, feeling a slight disappointment. He had reviewed every individual talent, but something was missing. "Wait a minute... where is his immortality? Where is the talent that allows him to harvest the lies of the entire bubble to fuel his power?"
He knew from Adam that Belial was anchored to the very concept of lying. If people lied, he grew stronger. If he died, he could return. But that power wasn’t listed among the talents.
His gaze finally drifted up, stopping at the very top of the screen... the Title.
In the concept of Reality, a Title was often more than just a name; it was a condensed Law. Without a second thought, Sunny reached out and clicked on the shimmering words: [The Lord of the Lies].
His eyes widened as the screen expanded, revealing the hidden foundation of Belial’s existence.
