Chapter 408: 407, you need to reform_1
After seeing Sylvanas leave, Anduin turned to Su Yu and said, “Nemesis, excuse me, I’ve got something to talk to you.”
Su Yu had just downed a [Master Level Mana Potion] and was ready to cast the [Teleportation Portal] spell.
Upon hearing Anduin’s words, he cancelled the spell and looked at him, “What is it?”
Anduin didn’t respond immediately.
He turned to face General Mekron, his gaze cold and stern as he watched the general.
General Mekron, quick to catch the hint, immediately spoke up, “I have some matters to attend to. You all carry on.”
After saying that, he hurriedly slunk away from the granary.
Once General Mekron had left, only Su Yu, Anduin, and Khadgar remained in the granary.
Khadgar cast a [Sound Barrier] around himself and Su Yu, then went to read a book. He didn’t seem interested in their conversation.
Anduin looked at Su Yu, coming straight to the point, “Nemesis, actually there’s something I’ve wanted to talk to you about for a while, but it wasn’t convenient with Madam Xi Wa around.”
“What is it?” Su Yu asked curiously.
“Actually, I’ve always advocated for cooperation with your kingdom, but I’ve never had the chance,” Anduin said slowly, “as you probably know, we’re divided into two factions internally, the Pro-War Faction headed by Tula Yang and the peace faction led by me.”
“Yes, I’ve heard.” Su Yu replied, “Is Sylvanas part of the Pro-War Faction as well?”
“Certainly, and she’s Tula Yang’s aunt by marriage. Tula Yang married her sister,” Anduin affirmed.
“Oh, I see,” Su Yu nodded in understanding, it turned out there was this connection between them.
After thinking for a while, Anduin said seriously, “In our country, the Pro-War faction has always dominated. They want to expand territory, thereby gaining more military expenses and resources. With sufficient military expenses and resources, their voice becomes even louder!”
“And now, the whole country is becoming increasingly militaristic, with the lives of the people deteriorating and the economy on the brink of collapse. We need to plunder resources from other countries to prevent our own from falling apart.”
Anduin let out a sigh, ” I’m telling you this to let your Empress know that our country does not intend to expand recklessly. It’s just that the interests of our Pro-War faction have hijacked the national interest, to a point where it can’t be ignored.”
“I’ve done some research. Over 75% of Lai Yin’s people still love peace and do not want to participate in war.” frёeωebɳovel.com
Su Yu nodded noncommittally, “Oh, that’s how it is. I’ll pass your words on to our Empress.”
“Thank you!” Anduin let out a sigh of relief.
“But, Anduin,” Su Yu looked at him, “what does your Emperor think?”
Anduin bitterly smiled, “The Emperor’s old and his thinking has been clouded by Tula Yang and Sylvanas.”
Su Yu thought for a while and said seriously, “In that case, I think your country needs a reform.”
“A country is like a person. At first, a lot of vitality can be exploded. However, as time goes on, it will become more and more unbearable, and many skill problems will appear within the body. Only by reforming, can the vitality of the country be guaranteed!”
“Reform?” Anduin frowned and asked humbly, “How should we reform?”
Su Yu laughed, “How to reform is a matter for your country, not for an outsider like me to dictate… But before I leave, I can provide you with some ‘ammunition’.”
“Ammunition?”
“Yes.” Su Yu took a small piece of paper from his necklace, wrote a sentence on it about the granary being full of rocks and hay, and gave it to Anduin.
Anduin’s eyes widened in shock as he read the content, and the purple-black mist around his body trembled non-stop. It was safe to say he was furious.
No wonder the granaries were always going up in flames, and he had gone through great lengths to research fireproof materials to prevent granary fires. It was these bastards who were responsible!
Su Yu patted Anduin’s shoulder, “This is as much as I can help. I should be on my way now.”
Having said that, he once again cast the [Teleportation Portal] towards Goldfinch City.
However, halfway through his casting, he suddenly received a game prompt: “Ding, Anduin Wrynn’s goodwill toward you +20, goodwill increased to ‘Indifferent’.”
Su Yu’s casting hand stiffened slightly.
But he did not stop casting. Instead, he continued to complete the spell, then without hesitation, he entered the [Teleportation Portal].
…
After Su Yu left, Anduin grew more and more angry, with black mist swirling around him.
Seeing Su Yu’s departure, Khadgar released the [Sound Barrier] and asked curiously, “Anduin, what’s wrong?”
Without a word, Anduin, with a grim face, handed the piece of paper to Khadgar.
After reading the note, Khadgar’s eyes also froze in shock.
“Khadgar, help me check if what Nemesis said is true.” Anduin’s voice echoed ominously.
“Okay.” Khadgar disappeared, casting [Invisibility Tech].
Seven or eight minutes later, Khadgar returned to the granary where Anduin was.
However, his expression was also particularly grim, “Anduin, everything Nemesis said is true. Currently, about 70% of all granaries are filled with rocks and hay.”
Bang!
A loud noise echoed through the granary as Anduin roughly hurled the nearby food rack to the floor.
The next second, he flew out of the granary, countless purple-black [Void Tendrils] sprouting from his back, tightly constricting General Mekron who was outside the granary.
General Mekron, being only at the peak of the fifth level and of a physically weak archer profession, could not break free from the Void Tendrils and was quickly strangled.
In fright, General Mekron yelled, “Anduin, what are you trying to do?!”
He felt as if his body was about to be torn apart by the Void Tendrils. Could it be that Anduin was plotting a coup?!
Anduin didn’t answer. With Mekron in tow, he flew over a warehouse that had obviously been tampered with.
Crack!
The Void Tendrils lashed out, splitting the warehouse into two halves. Large amounts of stones and hay disguised as grain spilled out from the opening.
“Do you have anything to say?” Su Yu looked coldly at General Mekron.
General Mekron’s face turned pale, utterly devoid of color.
The only thing in his mind was the phrase, “It’s over! It’s all over!”
…
The scene shifts back to Su Yu.
Just as Anduin was in a thunderous rage, he had already returned to Goldfinch City and was at a thin area of the Spatial Barrier outside the city.
Like as before, he hit the ground without grace, and out of shock, quickly drank another [Master Level Mana Potion].
But, fortunately, the mountain stream was filled with birdsong and flowers, lush trees, and gentle stream waters. It was a beautiful sight.
Su Yu rolled over on the ground, kicked up his legs, and said with a pleased smile, “Honestly, the scenery here is really nice! I could buy this land in the future and turn it into a garden.”
While he was lost in his thoughts, a sound broke through the air from the distant horizon. A petite figure was flying his way.
