Chapter 447: Want me to pass on a message for you?

I scowled, frowning as he asked such a sensitive question.

I’m sure he sniffed something. Alphas are sensitive to an Omega in heat, or even nearing their heat cycle. Especially one who just got out of a rut.

The moment I found out he was an Alpha, I should’ve made space between us.

"Whoa there," he moved back. "You’re gonna drill a hole in my head."

"Get out of the way," I said. "I’m leaving."

"Well, I can’t." He said. "I have to take your commission."

"It sure seems to me that you don’t need to take my commission," I said but he scoffed.

"Are you kidding me? He’s gonna ki-" he stopped halfway and cleared his throat, staring afresh. "Anyway, I can’t let you leave until I take your commission. Your Alpha wants you to make the best out of the best and that’s why I’m here."

"That’s the thing," I said. "Even if I were to tolerate that you’re a rude bastard, and that you have great skills, how am I certain that you do work for him and aren’t his rival?"

"Unfortunately, I do work for that bastard or a boss." I tilted an eyebrow. Unfortunately? "So, you don’t have to worry and leave your commission with me. I’ll make sure to make your stuff. And besides, even if I were from a rival gang, what am I going to do with your commission anyway? If I wanted to threaten him, my best bet would be to kidnap you."

He’s right but I still can’t let my guard down around him. He’s chaotic and is all over the place. How can I trust him?

"Did you hear from him recently?" I asked, my eyes peering into his.

"Well, since you’re so curious, yes. In fact, I know where he is. Want me to take you to him?" He asked and I clicked.

"So that you can kidnap me on the way? No thanks."

"Wow, you’re sharper than I thought." He said and laughed. "But that was just a joke anyway. He’s too busy at the moment. I bet that’s why you can’t contact him."

If he spoke with Jin-Yeok recently then that means he’s fine. Hah, it’s such a relief knowing he’s doing well.

"Want me to pass on a message for you?" He asked and I frowned.

Why was he getting so friendly with me all of a sudden? It was suspicious.

He must really want me to give him my commission that badly. He must be worried that Jin-Yeok will do something to him.

"Yes, but let’s leave that aside for now," I said.

"What is it? I already answered all your questions and even showed I wasn’t hostile." He said but I was still skeptical.

"There is something," I said. "Can you keep a secret?"

"A secret?"

"Yes. This commission. It’s a gift, and of course, a surprise. Now Jin-Yeok knows I’m making something, so it won’t be so much of a surprise on his end but since he doesn’t know what I’m making and why I’m making it, it’s still doable."

"What’s the problem?" He asked, dropping his hand on his waist.

"The problem is that you’re going to tell Jin-Yeok the content of the commission and then everything will be ruined," I said with a hardened voice. "That’s another reason why I don’t want to give you this commission."

"And if I promise to keep it a secret?" He asked and I paused.

Can I take his word for it?

"If he trusts you then he won’t probe with curiosity too much. You could even give me a message to pass on to him so he doesn’t force the Intel out of me." He explained and I thought about it.

If I told him to leave it be since it was a surprise I was preparing, he might just let it be.

Then, this could actually work.

"Alright," I said and he smiled. "But I’m still not doing it."

His smile fell asleep he panicked.

"What? Why?"

"You made a mistake with me, and you acted rudely. Do you think I’ll just let it slide just because you say you were testing me?" I asked him and with that, he finally understood the final piece that was needed.

"Yeah, you’re right." He said and then dropped his head.

"I apologize for my rude behavior earlier. But you gotta know, I’m a bastard true and true, so don’t take my actions to heart." Look at him trying to be all smart.

Yeah, I got it. I nodded.

He raised his hand, waiting for a handshake.

"So, does this make it a done deal?" He asked and I looked at his hand.

I don’t want to get his Pheromones on me, even a little bit. The slightest contact would do that so I didn’t want to shake him.

Instead,

"Noona," I called and she flinched. "Could you please shake him for me?"

"Wh-?"

She was going to ask why but then came a realization.

I didn’t need to explain for her to know I was avoiding contact with him.

But there was something else she didn’t know I was thinking.

Since she likes Kyle, I wanted to see if she had a chance with him.

No, I don’t wish her a life with a bastard like Kyle, but dating him once doesn’t mean she will end up with him for life.

Hm, why does that sound like a foreboding?

Whatever. She probably just likes him for his handsome face and pretty eyes.

And there’s no guarantee he will have an interest in her either. He said he just got out of a rut so he probably had a partner.

"Hm, this one’s pretty." Kyle suddenly said as they shook hands and Jie-Yu’s face flushed. "Wanna give me your number?"

"What?!" We both exclaimed.

He wasn’t even hiding his intentions.

It’s clear what a guy wants when he asks for a lady’s number.

"What are you gonna do with that?" I asked him and he grinned.

"That’s none of your concern," he said.

I bared my bunny teeth at him and glared.

I think I have to protect Noona from this guy. He’s a wolf, and he’ll definitely gnaw at her, since she’s a sheep.

Jie-Yu ended up giving him her number.

That guy... Maybe I should report him to Jin-Yeok after all. You know, just to be safe.
